  1. Use iPod Touch like usb wireless?

That would be awesome. I wanna know the answer to this as well!
  2. I was just wondering if there is any relatively cheap usb wireless adapter that can connect to WPA2 enterprise. I found some good adapters on the HCL but most of them does not mention anything about wpa2. I would really appreciate it thanks.
  3. Mounting DMG after download crash...help!

It's most likely because you have the newer seatbelt.kext. Use the 10.5.5 seatbelt.kext and it should mount just fine. If you want you can disable "auto open" in safari so it doesn't freeze up on you unexpectedly.
  4. Hey guys, I got my ethernet working on my Mac and I tested that the internet works when the laptop is connected to the router via ethernet. I was wondering if it was possible to use my desktop, which is running both Ubuntu (although I can't find the drivers for my wifi card) and Windows 7, to share its internet connection over ethernet to my laptop. Yes I understand that I'm able to connect directly to the router in the other room but I just want to know how to share the internet connection over ethernet (I'm pretty sure it's possible). Thanks in advance. Edit: Wow this thread seems pointless since I was able to solve it in an hour or so. Yea sorry about that. I'll leave this thread up for people who want to use this as a reference. I looked everywhere about sharing internet over ethernet for hours until I finally gave up and created a thread here. About an hour later, it hit me. I did the exact same thing for my xbox 360. When I wanted to get on Xbox Live I would need to connect my xbox to my laptop via ethernet and connect my laptop wirelessly to the router. To do this, in vista (or win7), it's simply heading over to control panel -> network and sharing center -> Left pane click "Change adapter settings" -> Right click on your wireless connection -> Properties -> Sharing tab -> Check "Allow other network users to connect..blah blah blah". That should be it. You could disable and re-enable the ethernet connection and viola, internet on your mac via ethernet.
  5. Change Mac OS X Version

@Ranguvar I tried both commands and the first one didn't give me much and the 2nd one gave me too much. Both of which didn't state the file that had the Mac version. @daveta I ran that program before but I did not see any option to edit Mac version. I want to try again but I'm embarrassed to say I forgot how to run it :-/
  6. Change Mac OS X Version

Hi, I'm installing the latest Xcode but the program does a check to see if the Mac OS version is at least 10.5.7. The problem is that I have 10.5.6 and I really do not want to update. I know there is a way to change the Mac version because I did it before but I can't seem to remember what file to edit or where to look. I've been looking everywhere but I can't find it. All I remember is going into the terminal and editing one number in a file (from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7) and Xcode installed just fine. I just need to know where the file is located so that I may edit it. Thanks.
  7. bump I would also like to know of any wireless adapters that support wpa2
  8. Great package Hex hex, thanks for it. I was wondering if you could write a short tutorial on how to hack the bios so I could install other wifi adapters inside this laptop. I would like to have wifi without having to plug in a external usb wifi adapter. I was thinking I could install the dell dw 1500 but because of the whitelist I can't. Do you have any idea how I can get past the whitelist?
  9. Leopard on HP Compaq 8510p?

Hi sorry for bumping such an old thread but I can't get iDeneb 1.4 (os 10.5.6) to work because I don't know what options to pick. I have the HP 8510w which is similar to 8510p I think. It installs fine but when I boot it up, it says "waiting for root device" or something similar. this probably has to do with the options I picked because I tried once w/o choosing anything and once with choosing most (yea I know I shouldn't install more than one audio driver and such but I really wanted to work). what options did you guys pick for this laptop?
  10. invalid bs_jmpboot

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I've had this problem for a while. I can't install mac on my second partion because I keep getting this error. I partioned it as a primary and almost all kinds of filesystem. It won't let me partition to macosx journaled. It works when the partition is logical but I get a invalid grub error (error 17 I believe). I read that mac can only be partitioned on a primary partition. Can anyone help me please?
