1. Gateway LT2104U Netbook

So you have both the wireless and 3g card working with this install? has anyone tried it without the iatkos? Thanks! And congratulations!
2. Hey all, Built two systems over the weekend with rackmounted cases for some friends who want to have computers running dj stuff (Like Ableton and Reason if you wanna know) with their live instruments. Both systems are based on the Intel DH57DD board. Both are running OS X 10.6.3 (fresh install from new DVD). Used TonyMacs sweet boot disc and ##### 2.0. One PC has a 2.8 GHz Dual Core processor and a 250 gig HD The other has a 2.8 GHz Core i7 and a 64 Gig SSD (system screams - loads OS in under 20 seconds!) I followed the guide on this forum (slightly different board): http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=...22&start=40 I have ethernet up and running (from process in guide above) and have installed updates and most everything appears to be going pretty well. I have 3 lingering issues. None are huge deal breakers for my friends, but I'm just curious enough and a perfectionist enough to try and get it right. Take a look. Can anyone provide some help? 1. Neither machine has working audio (they'll be using firewire audio devices anyway, so not a big deal... but still...) It's a Realtek ALC889. I've tried using ##### 2.0 to install the appropriate Legacy Kext, HDAEnabler, and the AppleHDA 10.6.2 Rollback - as well as various combinations of those 3 kexts and the ones for the ALC889a with no success on either system. I also tried loading the AppleHDA.kext from here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2433784/AppleHDA.kext.zip also with no success. Anyone got any other ideas? 2. The Core i7 system will not restart correctly. It shuts down OS X but then hangs. The computer doesn't ever power down, much less, get started again. I've repaired cache and permissions several times and tried reloading the EvOreboot.kext in Extra/Extensions - no dice. Exact same kext setup on the dual-core system and restart works like a charm. I will say that the problem seems to have appeared after I installed the custom ethernet kext, but as both systems use this kext, why would it only effect the restart on the i7? Again, thanks for any tips/suggestions! 3. The dual-core system refers to show anything other than "unknown processor" in the "About this Mac" section. SMcputype insmbios is set to 257. I think that should be correct, but it's not working. I feel like these are all relatively minor issues, and was blown away with how easy this was to actually accomplish. Massive kudos to the devs who have put this together. Hoping somebody can get me across the finish line! Thanks again!
3. I'm looking at doing an install with the X8DAH board. Any suggestions? I've PMed vladthebad with specifics, but basically I'm using the Chameleon 2 RC3 USB install method. I'm using netkas' pc-efi 10.3 boot file and have tried a few kext files and creating a smbios.plist, but nothing helps me get past the ioatafamily kernel panic. Thanks everyone for any help you can provide! -masonjames
4. Hey all, I'm working on getting my own 8-core system working. Its a Supermicro MBD-X8DAH+-0 server board with Intel's Xeon 5520 processors. Pretty excited about it, but I'm getting a kernel panic when I'm trying to install. I'm using Netkas' 10.3 version of the Chameleon 2 RC3 bootloader on a thumb drive which also has a restored image of SL 10.6 Here's what the screen looks like when I get an error message: Sorry it's a crappy picture, but it refers to a couple apple kexts in particular right before the error. I know the chipset is ICH10R. Anybody know if this will work with the vanilla kernel? I am wanting to use a real "Vanilla" install of OSX not a seperate distribution. I've got a custom smbios.plist and com.apple.Boot.plist file that is set up for my system (I think). I am also trying to get this working with Snow Leopard. I first tried only these custom kexts: LegacyHDAController.kext LegacyHdAPlatformDriver.kext When that failed, I tried these: LegacyHDAController.kext LegacyHdAPlatformDriver.kext LegacyIOAHCIBlockStorage.kext Should I be using any others? I've put together some hackintosh pcs before, but never one this different from the popular configs (ep45, ex58, etc). Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks. -masonjames

7. Did a casual search here and at Driverheaven's forum and saw that the Dell OEM SB Live! is not currently supported. Are there any plans to add this in the future? If so, any kind of time frame for that? I just got a hackintosh up and running on a Dell Dimension 4550 with iATKOS 5i partitioned with Windows XP. Can't believe how smoothly everything runs. Ethernet and video cards all recognized, just trying to see about the audio. The PCI card works in XP and is recognized in the PCI slot in the BIOS settings, but not found in the system profile on the mac. Any tips would be great! Thanks for all your hard work! -james
