  1. My onboard wireless didn't work but, I have a PRONET PN-54USB wireless usb adaptor which worked great out of the box. About the keyboard and mouse problem, which installer did you use to install OS X? I am on iDeneb v1.3 OS X 10.5.5. I don't remember exactly but, I think I chose to install Intel chipset patch or package by selecting custom installation. I am still on OS X 10.5.5 as I am typing this post. Thanks, Manish
  2. This seems to be a very old post so, I guess it's not going to help anyone much. But, I do have the same laptop and I am running OS X 10.5.5 on it. Works great. Never thought of dual-booting a Mac + Windows as I never needed Windows very much. I am a Linux user.
  3. [How To] Pinconfig for Linux users Realtek ALC883 example

Master Chief. Thank you very very much for such a wonderful and easy to understand guide. I will be desperately waiting for information on editing the AppleHDA info.plist. I can't seem to figure out the connection part yet and how should I put the NodeIDs in the pathmaps. Your codec graph is remarkably different and complicated than mine so, I am kinda lost. I am still working on it though. Keep up the good work. Cheers Manish
  4. Speakers work, Headphones and mic do not...

Really thanks for helping me here. I installed your AppleHDA.kext using kext_helper_b7. The script ran fine and I rebooted the computer as directed by the program. Unlike my previous attempts which I had done on my own, there were no kext related errors at startup. However, there was no audio icon on the taskbar again. I checked under System Preferences >> Sound and there was no audio input or no audio output. There's one difference in System Profiler though. Instead of seeing only this Device ID: 0x103C30B2 Audio ID: 12 Now, I see this Intel High Definition Audio: Device ID: 0x103C30B2 Audio ID: 12 Available Devices: Speaker: Connection: Unknown Do I need to try patching this AppleHDA.kext too by searching and replacing the flipped device ids before installing it? Thanks again for your help. I couldn't have come this far without it. Manish
  5. Speakers work, Headphones and mic do not...

I tried patching AppleHDA.kext but, it doesn't seem to work for me. Once I remove AppleAzaliaAudio.kext, I don't get sound at all, no output or input. Probably I didn't do it correctly. I am back to AzaliaAudio for now. I am using Compaq Presario V3018TU and here's my card's info using Kubuntu 8.04. Codec: Conexant CX20551 (Waikiki) Address: 0 Vendor Id: 0x14f15047 Subsystem Id: 0x103c30b2 Revision Id: 0x100000 The full codec dump file is attached below. codec_0x14f15047.txt
  6. Conexant HD Audio

I am using Compaq Presario V3018TU. Audio through inbuilt speakers only is working using AzaliaAudio. Inbuilt microphone, Headphone jack, Microphone jack don't work. I also tried patching my AppleHDA but, it only made my sound go away completely so, I had to reinstall AzaliaAudio to restore it. Here's my card's info from Kubuntu 8.04 Codec: Conexant CX20551 (Waikiki) Address: 0 Vendor Id: 0x14f15047 Subsystem Id: 0x103c30b2 Revision Id: 0x100000 codec_0x14f15047.txt

Thanks. With the information provided by you, I think I am good to try this. I will keep you posted. Manish
  8. Speakers work, Headphones and mic do not...

I am using a Compaq v3018tu laptop and I am having the same problem with iDeneb 1.3 (OS X Leopard 10.5.5). My sound card's device id is 0x103C30B2 and Audio id is 12. Is there anything I can do to make the headphone jack work? Thanks.
