  1. i actually used a DSDT i acquired by following another post which instructions include generating the DSDT file in Windows XP. i got this kext on EFI/Extra/Extensions working DSDT_aml.zip AnalogDevicesAD1988B.kext.zip
  2. it depends on what software you'll be using. a handful will use all 4 cores to render and some don't. any combination of hardware can do it but the question is how fast you want your compiling get done.

    What am I doing wrong?

    a wild guess but maybe the burner you have is not compatible with the disk

    P5B + USB DEVICES = SLOW SNOW LEO

    i used the tutorial to generate dsdt.aml for my p5b board to install SN. i thought it would help if the tutorial can patch your dsdt and somehow resolve your problem. the script on the tutorial i mentioned suppose to patch your dsdt without you having to do it manually. nothing else i can think off right now
  5. will only work on 32bit so i have to add arch=i386 on my kernel flag with the latest chameleon

    Chameleon RC3 won't countdown for boot

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Kernel</ key> <string>mach_kernel</ string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=i386</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280x1024x32</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>y</string> <key>Graphics Enabler</key> <string>y</string> </dict> </plist> to boot to 64bit just delete the line in between the string value below the "Kernel Flags" if you want it to countdown, you have to add the Timeout line and the string after that

    P5B + USB DEVICES = SLOW SNOW LEO

    try use the patcher on this tutorial. just use the scripts that will patch your dsdt. you might have to reinstall the kext that you deleted.
  8. i don't know about the upgrade dvd but i was able to install full retail with the tutorial Ichixgo mentioned. all i had to do was add VoodooHDA.kext to the KEXT folder before i started running the scripts. the attached file is what i have on my efi partition to have it running but you have to add you own video efi string to the boot.plist EFI.zip
  9. will only work on 32bit. read the RIM website again. maybe in a few weeks they will come up with the 64bit driver.

  11. audio working with AnalogDevicesAD1988b.kext in EFI partition /Extra/Extensions i use this tutorial to get my dsdt.aml file and make a bootable usb and install image in it. i had to add my own video card EFI string i acquired from OSx86TOOLS to the com.apple.boot.plist. i think adding the nvkush.kext to the EXTRA folder might work also. i basically use the instructions from this thread and the other thread i mentioned earlier to make both my HDD and USB drive boot from EFI partition. so i think the other way you can go is through bootable usb as i never have to burn the boot-132.iso from the leopard folder.
  12. took me the whole day with trial and error but glad to say got it working on my Asus P5E Deluxe flashed with Rampage Formula bios, q9650, and 8600 GTS.
  13. after installing the combo, system will not shutdown completely like how it was on 10.5.6. when i installed the 10.5.7 combo update it fixed the shutdown problem so i guess i'll have to revert to it.
