  1. Has anyone had any success with this motherboard? There are plenty of posts about the UD3R and some about the UD7, but not much on UD5. As of this date, not much by even using "G**gle" resources. Perhaps we should start a thread here if anyone has had any success or failure, as this might help others decide whether to purchase this motherboard, or choose another. Help others, pay it forward.
  2. I have the same problem. If I plug in a usb jump drive, and leave it in while booting up, the plugs seem to work fine after that. Sorry I can't give an explanation, but I don't understand what causes this problem.
  3. @MJ: My apple keyboard and mouse (both USB) work just fine. But, if I plug in a flash drive or anything else, nothing shows up in OSX. I am running 10.5.6 w/voodoo. One thought I had, when I did the install, was I supposed to copy the three kext (AppleSMBIOS.kext, AppleSMBIOSEFI.kext, and System.kext) from the EFI_pack_v2/_MACOSX/EFI_pack/Extensions/ directory in the EFI_pack_v2 file? If so, I probably missed it during the install. When I copied stuff into the EFI partition, I did it from EFI_pack_v2/EFI_pack/Extensions/ , the one that also had the mach_kernel.voodoo and com.apple.Boot.plist in it. If I screwed up, please let me know where to copy these files to. I'm just thinking that this could be the root of my problem.
  4. @MJ - Thank you for all of the work you have done on this topic. After a break, I finally got up and running. Just a few issues remain: USB - still not working. Is there a fix? RAID :censored2: - I have 3 HD in my system; 2@Raid 0 for Vista and 1 for OSX. I am only using the controller on the motherboard. When I have the BIOS in RAID (not AHCI) I can see both OSes from the bootloader, but I can only boot to Vista successfully. Booting to OSX get me "waiting for root device" loop. I suspect that this is because OSX doesn't know what to do with the RAID controller. When I have the BIOS in AHCI mode, then I have no problem getting into OSX, but Vista is obviously not bootable (also not an option from the bootloader). Do I need a kext or something to get this working? I am open for any suggestions. Thank you- JD
  5. I'll try it. Thanks for posting the .iso - JD
  6. I'm having the same problem with the splash screen lock-up. I just get the spinning beach ball too. I also tried the -x flag....same results. BTW - @MJ thank you for fixing the .iso that seems to have solved my boot issue (now to solve the install issue) - JD
  7. When I boot from your custom .iso, I just get a persistent cursor. The only time it worked was when I first booted, forgetting that I had my old iDeneb install still plugged in. It booted and saw that HD. But with only a blank HD connected...nothing. I tested another Boot-132 CD I have, and it did work with the blank HD. I'm happy to help troubleshoot this, but I will admit that I don't know enough about Boot-132 to figure this out on my own. Let me know if you have any suggestions. - JD
  8. Thank you for the walkthrough. I can't wait to try it. The EFI_Pack.zip link seems to be a bad link. Are you able to fix it (i.e. hosting it) or is this something generic that can be found elsewhere? -JD
  9. MJ: That is FANTASTIC!!!! Please post a very detailed walk-though if you have time (BIOS settings, flags, kexts, etc...). Cheers, JD
  10. I have been struggling with the P6T for about 3 weeks so far. I have not been able to do a retail install, only iDeneb 10.5.5 and can't even boot into OSX after the install (panic on the grey start screen). Can you list the changes you made to your BIOS settings, what you used to do the retail install (boot-132?, any flags, etc...), and did you have to add any flags after install to get OSX to boot? At this point, I'd be happy to even get 1 CPU to run. Sorry for sounding so desperate, BUT I AM! If could get to the same point you are at, I might be able to help figure out the "core/CPU" problem too. Thank you.
  11. I agree. I hope someone really gets this working on the P6T too. I have to than grassroot for leading me toward iDeneb. It is the only one that I can install on the P6T so far. But I still have not managed to get the OS to boot after install without a panic. I'm betting that it is a driver/kext issue. If anyone has any advice or success with the P6T, please share it with the community. BTW - thanks again grassroot, please keep us posted if you make any more progress.
  12. Has anyone gotten a P6T to run OSX without totally crippling the CPU? If so, can you please post what method (kernel, bios setting, boot modifiers, flags, etc...) worked for you? It seems that everyone with a successful story, did it on a Gigabyte mobo. I haven't been able to get past "dsmos: starting" at best. Thank you.
  13. grassroot, did you get any panics simillar to mine?
