Intel HD 3000 in CORE i3 works?

I believe you should be fine.make sure that is is in fact intel hd 3000. hd 3000 is supported natively, hd 2000 not

    [Help]grey apple screen with cursor

I think the intel hd 2000 graphics are just unsupported.I get the correct resolution(1080p) but the graphics are off. hard to explain how but they are, I think the system is using the intel 3000 graphics which may work but it doesn't work correctly for my chip

    [Help]grey apple screen with cursor

I actually believe my graphics are intel hd 2000 according to newegg specs, I will. I resolved the panic issue, it just hangs at the screen in my first post. I think this is the screen right before the login screen because when I boot with -x it shows this screen for a second or two and changes to the login screen. Yes I have a sandybridge chip. Thank you for the help so far, glad someone is helping a newb like me

    [Help]grey apple screen with cursor

by compiled lion partition you mean post installation lion system right(not bootable lion installer)? thank you for the reply! everything seems to be functioning but not without the -x flag. my graphics seem good but when I open up folders I kinda see the screen refresh very slowly, like a line is moving down the screen
  7. Hey guys everytime I boot into my lion install without any bootflags I get a grey screen with the apple logo in the middle. The screen has the correct resolution because nothing is distorted and I can move the mouse around too but there is no option to log in or anything, the only way to bypass this and log in is using the -x flag. Anyone know what is wrong here? When I do log in the system seems to work fine except some devices I have to get kexts for such as audio and ethernet. specs are intel i3 2100 Asus P8H61-M (I use intel HD graphics 2000)
  8. Ok guys I followed the guide here and installed the gm build of lion on my desktop. I have to use the bootflag -x to get the system to boot and when it does the os runs smoothly but when I try installing any kexts(doesn't matter which one) that will work for lion I reboot and get a kernel panic. my specs are intel i3 2100 Asus P8H61-M (I use intel onboard graphics) 4gb of ddr3 ram 250gb hdd "kernel extensions in backtrace com.apple.driver.AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement(166.0)" should I just remove this kext? and install the nullcpupowermanagement? any help would be appreciated the kexts are I need to install are Realtek RLT81xx, and alc887
  9. Hey guys this one of my fist posts here. I was wondering if the new sandybridge i3's can run snow leopard with the default vanilla kernel. I tried googling this topic but it was all before the sandybridge cpu's were put in the macbook pro line. I also searched on here and didn't get an answer. any help would be appreciated. By the way I'm thinking of making an i3 build, that's why I can't just try it. Any insight is appreciated

  13. Alright I'm trying to boot into my leopard installation using XxX_x86_10.5.6_Install_Disc_Universal_Final.v2 but I get stuck at the still waiting for root device. I've tried some bootflags and when I did I think I got a kernel panic. Is there anything I can do to get past this?
