  1. I updated to 10.5.7 and installed Voodoo Kernel (Voodoo Kernel 9.5.0) with the associated seatbelt.kext. Reason I installed the Voodoo Kernel is it provides me with a functioning password out of sleep and screensaver (doesn't work with stock kernels). Anyway I was slimming OSX down by removing unused Kexts on my system (MSI Wind) and now password request doesn't work. Problem is I can't tell which kext Voodoo Kernel was relying on to provide this feature, none of these seem to affect that. Anyway I was wondering if anyone knows if Voodoo Kernels rely on any one these (removed kexts below) or which one affects security features? I know its a long shot but thanks for any help. How would I go about removing the Voodoo Kernels, I tried through OSX86Tools but it didn't seem to work.
  2. VoodooHDA

I can officially say this works on the MSI Wind too. Its nice to have Internal Speakers to Headphones automatically without a switching program. Thanks for all the work put into this program. PS I havent tested the internal mic, since I dont really use it and dont know what I should test it with.
  3. VoodooHDA

Thanks found them. Just waiting on the Xcode download and install so I can install them.
  4. VoodooHDA

Okay this is what Im doing, tell me if it is wrong. I go to sources on that page and copy the code svn checkout http://voodoohda.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ voodoohda-read-only and paste it in terminal. Hit enter and it lists a bunch of files and finishes saying "Checked out Revision 2." Is that all I have to do to download the source file? If it is, it doesn't even give a location to where they were downloaded. If not can I download manually through the site, I found the list of files. Sorry for the newbie questions.
  5. VoodooHDA

How do you download the voodoohda source? I dont see anything on the site.
  6. Is this true with all the versions? Or just the IPC version? Thanks for the help BTW.
  7. Bump for a still open request. I would like to get a version installed this weekend.
  8. Best netbook for OSX?

Wind is definitely the way to go. I have OSX running on mine and the only thing that doesn't work is the mic and the switch from speakers to headphones sort of (you have to install a workaround where you press a key combo to swtich from speakers to headphones and back). There's a fix being worked on supposedly for both of these, so they work natively. But honestly I dont use the mic and the fix for speakers to headphones and back works perfectly.
  9. Security Update 2009-001

Well at first it was just to test it. But honestly it made my OSX install better. Before installing the Voodoo Kernel, I had problems with slow boot up time and no password request when coming back from sleep/screensaver. Installing the Voodoo Kernel fixed all of that and has been pretty stable, making me have a fully compatible OSX install.
  10. Security Update 2009-001

Installed these updates on my MSI Wind running OSX 10.5.6 (via upgraded MSIwindosx86) with Voodoo Kernel. Noticed a problem, when I close the lid to put the laptop to sleep it now takes about a minute, while before it was instant. I tried repairing permissions and reinstalling video drivers but hasn't worked.
  11. Bump for some answers.
  12. A Letter on Voodoo Dev Team

I agree with you, they don't have to give updates at all and everyone should be okay with that (considering how much they have already done). I have a MSI Wind running OSX and have read the thread on the forums over there (MSI Wind forums). I kept my head out of that thread because its just ridiculous people complaining about its not released yet and keep asking for updates every 5 minutes (thankfully the mods did a good job of cleaning up the thread). It will be released when its meant to be released, as for now use the workarounds (except for the mic issue).
  13. I have a Dell Optiplex GX620 with a Intel Pentium 4 3.0ghz processor, 128mb ATI Radeon X600se, SoundMax Digital Audio driver, Ethernet is also important (connects my DSL/router). Which of the various OSX install versions will best suite my device specs? I would like to get as much as possible working. Thanks in advance for the help.
  14. Still having issues with this. Screensaver works but no password request after waking from screensaver or sleep yet.
  15. Slow Boot Time

Its well over 1 min and the only thing I have running at start up is the Wireless Utility for my WLAN. The program isn't the problem though. I have 10.5.6 and this is on my MSI Wind. When booting up the process seems to hang right after I log in at the OSX login screen. It takes a good while to load the desktop. Sometimes it will load really fast after login (once in awhile) but most of the time its really slow. Any ideas what could be the problem? Also how do you boot into -v flag to check what may be causing these problems? Not familiar with OSX enough to know how to do that. Thanks in advance for any help.
