  1. Crashreporter has nothing. Completely empty.
  2. On an otherwise fantastic 10.8.2 install, I get intermittent crashes (freeze) and kernel panics (more rare, but there have been a few). These crashes seem to be brought on by heavy disk activity, like downloading at 1MB/s or copying large amounts of data from drive to drive. I can't seem to find any crash logs. Where should I be looking for these? Are there settings I need to turn on to have them generated?
  3. HD 5770 Almost working - help?

Thanks for the suggestion. I was looking at that, but being relatively new to these things I don't know how to install that bootloader. Seems like it should be fairly simple with just the one file, and I know how to set the boot flags, but in the post they explicitly state not to ask how to do it. Mind pointing me to where I could learn this?
  4. HD 5770 Almost working - help?

I've got a GA-EP45-UD3LR with an XFX HD 5770. Installing OSX was super easy with Kakewalk 3.1. I have it running 10.6.6 perfectly, sound and everything. Profiler is showing the correct information, including both monitors: The second monitor is just black. I tried installing netkas' drivers shown here, but that just mirrors the displays at 800x600. Any suggestions? I also have a vanilla ATI HD 5870, if someone has a solution for that one. (as-is I get full fan speed and black screen on boot) EDIT: I was just able to get the second monitor to mirror at 1280x1024. Strange.
  5. Has anyone been able to get this card working under Snow Leopard? The chipset is the Ralink RT256x, for which Ralink offers a 10.5 driver, but none for 10.6.
  6. CMI8738

Any developments with this card under Snow Leopard 64 bit?
  7. Here are the specs: Intel® Core™2 Duo processor SiS® 672DX+SiS 968 Chipset ATi Mobility Radeon HD4330 Realtek ALC660 (AC97) I haven't seen any examples of Snow Leopard on that chipset, but it's been done on 10.5 here I'm a "follow the guide" kinda guy, so I'm not sure where I would start looking to make this work, so any input would be appreciated.
  8. HD 4870: only one display sleeps

I just finished installing snow leopard on my GA-EP45-UD3LR with a retail DVD and the SL Pack, updated to 10.6.2 with netkas' new SleepEnabler.kext, and everything works great except for this: When the displays are supposed to shut off (I suppose it would be "standby", not sleep), only the main display does. the other one stays on, showing the desktop background. Is there a known fix for this? I'm assuming that I would just need to add an entry for a second display in some .plist file, but if someone could point a newbian in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
  9. Any ideas why my preferences wouldn't be staying after a restart? I would assume there is a permissions problem, so can someone point me to the files that would correspond to the keyboard preferences? (The only thing I have changed and is not persisting is the modifier keys) Thanks, Kelso
  10. It works perfectly for 10.5.x, and with a little bit of DSDT magic, it works in Snow Leopard as well. Seems we're all having trouble getting the sound to work (ALC 888), and in 64-bit mode the R1000 Ethernet. Otherwise, though, it's a great hackintosh board.
  11. The KP I'm getting with software update: screenshot Also, after doing the whole permissions thing, I had problems with DSMOS: hfs: hfc_btree_open: BTOpenPath error -32738 So I grabbed the new dsmos.kext from netkas (here) and put it in Extra/Extensions and that's fixed. btw, what is the proper way to capture KP's? I can't find a log file anywhere...
  12. Wow, thanks d00m42 for all your hard work! I found the guide to be quite straightforward, and am posting from SL now. Sound is not yet working (Shows up with all ports in Profiler though), but other than that... My system: GA-EP45-UD3LR F5 Intel E8400 Core 2 Duo 3.00 GHz EVGA e-GeForce 7600 GT 256MB SATA 640GB HDD with [10.5.6][Win7 x32][Win7 x64] SATA 60GB SSD with SL and PC-EFI IDE 80GB HDD for Time Machine Issues: KP when I try doing a software update (update_dyld_shar) Sound doesn't yet work IDE drive doesn't show up at all (ATA kext problem? I have the jmicron kext in Extra/Extensions) Oh, and other than the very first boot I haven't been using -v -x32. Should I be? Also, I have CPU enhanced halt state and Virtualization Technology on, and haven't noticed anything Thanks again, Kelso
  13. I also have this board, and would love to see some documentation for this. Haven't yet tried using boot 132, but will do that as soon as I'm finished downloading SL.
  14. Hey, I'm on the same boat here, or similar, anyway: Single SATA drive: EFI Partition Journaled HFS (OSX) MS System Reserved Windows Partition I installed OSX first (retail updated to 10.5.8) then installed Windows 7 on another partition. I used the Boot123 cd to get back into OSX to reinstall chameleon 2, then repaired the startup in windows, and set the OSX partition as active. Now my computer boots into chameleon, but it only shows the OSX partition, and ignores the windows partition How do I get windows as a choice on the chameleon screen?
  15. I've been trying this method all day, and have not been able to boot to the retail DVD. When it attempts to boot into the UD3LR boot cd, it briefly flashes the message "System config file /com.apple.boot.S/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist not found" and then drops to the boot menu, where typing "ef" (or anything for that matter) does nothing. Thinking my IDE DVD drive was the problem, I bought a SATA one, but haven't made any progress. Also, is setting the BIOS setting to AHCI a necessity? My computer acts really strange when I have this on. Gigabyte EP45-UD3LR F5 Intel E8400 Core 2 Duo @ 3.0 GHz 4 GB DDR-800 e-GeForce 7600 GT 256MB WD 500GB SATA Samsung SATA DVD-RW EDIT: OMGIGOTITWORKING!!!! I played around with the drives and bios settings, and it started working beautifully when I added an IDE HDD (set as Master) and moved the DVD drive to SATA port 4 (0-3 have some weird ide emulation thing), and turned on AHCI. Running the installer now
