The sound issue had been resolved (kinda) when using chameleon from ##### I got my turbo 4.5ghz but no sound. Now with chameleon 2377 I have sound but no overclock. Tried all smbios edits and 3,1 5,1 6,1. No dice on turbo to 45. 10.9.2 -

i tried both with onboard audio enabled and disabled. no dice. what im not understanding is why audio works perfectly with a 3930k cpu installed. link to another people with the same problem. EDIT: i finally got it working with chameleon rev 2377, but now i can't get my 4930k to hold its over clock. i only get 3.4ghz -

well i have tried everything and i still get unusable audio that skips and crackles. I'm talking about USB audio not working with a 4930k processor installed. I am not interested in onboard audio whatsoever. If i swap the 4930k to a 3930k then the audio works perfectly, no kext changes, no changes at all, just swap the cpu and audio works. The usb audio device is a Apogee one for Mac and iPad. I was wondering if there is some sort of irc channel i can join where i can work together with someone to solve this issue. I've found its been posted a few times over the net but no solutions. -

Every single usb port with every single osx version from snow leopard up! even did a reboot between pluging it into a different usb and even tried a USB PCI-E addon card. so i tried something like 20+ usb ports on three different osx installtions while rebooting before each port change. lol but the main thing is all i do is pop in a 3930k, and bam! audio works. just a cpu swap and audio works.nothing else. i suspect i will have to wait until the new mac pro gets released with IB-E support to get my apogee one to work, and even then, with the 4930k i suspect it will only work in mavericks. ill never get my audio recording system running in snow leopard with a 4930k wish i could get to the root of what is causing the stuttering with the 4930k -

It's definitely something to do with the CPU. To test it I went out and bought a 3930k I use USB audio from a apogee one (used for studio work) With the 3930k it works with no problems, no stuttering in snow Leo, lion, mountain lion, and mavericks. With the 4930k I get stuttering audio in all osx installs. Power management aside for the overclocking and turboboost, p-states, I'll never get the kernel support for snow leopard. I'm hoping to retest this issue with the usb audio stuttering once ib-e support is written into the mavericks kernel. As far as the other osx installs, I think I'll always get stuttering usb audio, ESP in snow leopard because of no ib-e support. Edit: just to fully test this issue, I used a pci-e USB 2.0 add on card that was made for Mac to work natively with osx. I Reinstalled every osx version with a clean install, and hooked the apogee to the USB addon card. Still get audio stuttering in every install with the 4930k. Not sure why. -

Sabertooth x79 and 4930k here. i've gotten all osx versions for run with patched kernels. but i can only get QE/CI in snow leopard because i have a ati 5970. but in all the osx installs my external apogee one usb audio interface has skipping audio in everything. anyone have any ideas what would be causing this skiping audio? is it the pached kernel? is there something i can modify to get audio working without the skipping? would popping in a 3930k fix it? my previous hack was a 980x cpu on a rampage iii extreme. had no audio problems. -
i need your guys help getting QE/CI running on 10.8.4 with a ATI 5970 Graphics Card. Tried all the tutorials i could find on the net but nothing has worked, tried experimenting and modifying the tutorial and playing around with the plists but still QE/CI does not work.

any update on this, or if anyone reading has found a solution to get QE/CI working with a ati 5970 on mountain lion please let us know... Thankyou
