  1. Hey legolas96, I realize this thread is half a year old, but I was curious if you made any progress. I too am trying to install 10.6.8 on a x61 T sxga.
  2. Lenovo ThinkPad X61 Tablet

To you guys running Snow Leopard, is your FSB being read correctly?
  3. Lenovo ThinkPad X61 Tablet

Okay, how about instead of fix for the FSB I'll ask: Is anyone running 10.5.7+ (or even SL) with a correct, 800 Mhz front side bus? If so, could you post the details: distro, kernel, bootloader, DSDTs, and any custom kexts that you believe may be contributing to the proper speed. Personally, I don't really care about the speed loss. But, I'm convinced that my endless: IOHIDSystem::relativePointerEventGated: Capping VBL time to 20000000 errors and instability with applications are related. Much thanks.
  4. Lenovo ThinkPad X61 Tablet

Do we have a fix yet for the FSB with 10.5.7 or 10.5.8? I think the misreading of the bus is causing some stability issues and would greatly appreciate a solution.
  5. Lenovo ThinkPad X61 Tablet

Thanks. I read this: "Reboot, and you'll be able to set your brightness in System Preferences, or by reassigning your F-keys." and was fruitlessly searching for a way to reassign F keys. Your suggestion was much easier.
  6. Lenovo ThinkPad X61 Tablet

I'm having a lot of trouble implementing Brightness on an X61s Leopard install. I've read through all the pertinent threads several times, but I'm just as confused. Following the steps posted at the top by outZider, it looks like an either or solution. That is, use method 1 or use method 2. But, reading through the threads, it looks like people used method 1 part of method 2 (patched their dsdt also). And it would seem other succeeded by by using method 1 and then simply replaced their dsdt with the one contained in backlight_stuff.zip. While I'm sure the answer is contained in these threads, I'm having difficulty replicating the exact steps. Would someone kindly, in a linear, step-by-step fashion write out the exact step they used for their sucessful install? Edit: Okay. Got it working It seems that you really MUST do both steps 1 and 2. It's not an either or, it's a do BOTH. Now that I have the brightness slider, how do I go about mapping it the function keys. I poked around the Keyboard prefs, but didn't see anything obvious.
  7. Lenovo ThinkPad X61 Tablet

Could you explain in more detail? I tried to assess based on the previous comments, but can't quite tell what's going on. Exactly what is "partial" about the control?
  8. Lenovo ThinkPad X61 Tablet

What's the latest with the brightness? Do we have full control yet? It's the only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger on an X61s.
  9. Asus P5N7A-VM

No. Using Chameleon 1.0.12. Is it a known bug with this version too?
  10. There are issues with the X61(s). I've been following them pretty closely as I'd like to buy an X61 and run Leopard on it. Personally, I much prefer the X61 form factor over the MacBook. Keep tabs on the progress here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...7574&hl=x61 The biggest deal breaker for me is the lack of brightness control. Once this is resolved I'll probably buy one off ebay and attempt an install. Let us know what you decide.
  11. Asus P5N7A-VM

I'm having difficulty playing VIDEO_TS with DVD Player.app [0x0-0x18018].com.apple.DVDPlayer[341]: error: Error getting a reference to /options. com.apple.launchd[118] ([0x0-0x18018].com.apple.DVDPlayer[341]): Exited with exit code: 1 Is anyone else having this problem with the P5N7A-VM? Did some searching around it would seem I need to monkey with AppleSMBIOS? I thought DSDT meant I wouldn't have to deal with AppleSMBIOS? Confused
  12. So I'm running a WMP54GS (BCM4318) in 10.5.6 using Ralink 2860 drivers. It's rock solid and works great for internet usage. But, it's SLOW for file transfers. I'm positive it's not a distance issue, as I temporarily moved the entire rig next to the base station for testing. It's definitely running as 802.11/b. Is there a way to get to run as 802.11/g? Fifty-four mbps would be a huge improvement. I did a lot of searching beforehand, I and see a lot of success stories with this particular (or similar) setup. But nobody really mentions throughput or speed. I did try using the WirelessUtilityCardbusPCI.app and while it seem like it should allow me to switch from b to g, it never recognizes the card. If not I'm gonna have to figure out a way to drop Cat 5 from the 2nd floor to the basement. I'm likely to puncture a finger if I have to break out the drill.
