  1. What about the new ATI HD4850 ?

Finally I bought that: Powercolor ATI Radeon HD2400 Pro (21 euros). and have now 2 graphics cards working fine. Only trouble is I have to switch in bios like this: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=140349 Big advantage of this card are: - price (no tears when HD 4850 is supported) - passive cooling (not getting hot) - low consumption (no need to upgrade power supply) - used in real mac pros (2000$ computers...25$ graphic card) so OS X is designed to work in good conditions with it (and I confirm it does) I am now enjoying iMovie on 1600x1200 screen and a Quad core. It rocks. I recommend the workaround to all people losing patience...
  2. What about the new ATI HD4850 ?

Hello, I also managed to get to the point where everything is working except I run under VESA driver (EP45-DS3R + Q6600 + ATI HD4850). I am using iDeneb 10.5.5 with option "Graphics Mode"="1600x1200x24". I would say OSX is more than usable like this but one the main reasons for me to use OSX is iMovie and I am looking for a workaround like everybody here in order to activate QE. My motherboard has got 2 PCI-E x16, do you think it would be possible to install a second very small graphic card well supported by OSX (like ATI HD2400 Pro for exemple which is less than 30€) just to enable iMovie. I have 3 OS on my computer: - Windows for games - Ubuntu for tweaking and experimentations - OSX for Video editing, and Music & Pictures database Basically the idea would be to use the HD4850 under Windows and Ubuntu and HD2400 under OSX. Do you think it is feasible?
