  1. Cannot Boot iAtkos 5i DVD

I have a Dell M1730 laptop. I installed iAtkos 5i. The install worked fine except the laptop's keyboard and mouse were not detected. I hooked up an external mouse & keyboard which worked. I updated to 10.5.6 without issue. I saw in another post to install using the x86 ACPI if the mouse and keyboard did not work, so I reinstalled using x86 ACPI. I cannot boot into that install using normal or safe boot. Also I cannot boot from the same iAtkos 5i install DVD which I used to install the first two installations. I do not understand this. I have not changed anything in the BIOS since the first install. Anyone have any ideas? When I try to boot from the DVD the screen turns grey and it states I need to restart the computer by holding the button down. The iAtkos DVD will boot on another Dell XPS M1730. I can boot the iAtkos 4i Install DVD on the problem laptop. I deleted everything on the partition on the problem laptop and tried to reboot using the iAtkos 5 install DVD and it still will not boot. Thanks for any help. UPDATE: I disabled a few items in the BIOS, one of them which enabled something like Legacy USB support. Is it possible that plugging a USB keyboard in enabled that automatically? Now I can boot from the iAtkos 5i install DVD. Second UPDATE: I just tried to install again, this time without selecting an ACPI, I could not boot into the installation, now I cannot boot from the DVD again either.
  2. Sound on M1730

I used the attached files to get audio on my Dell m1730 notebook. I dragged the text file onto the executable file. This did cause my system to not shutdown or restart automatically though. SoundFix.zip
  3. I have a Dell XPS m1730. I installed using iAtkos 10.5.4 DVD. I installed checking the following boxes to customize. iATKOS v4i Main System Darwin Bootloader Stock Files AppleACPIPlatform.kext Kernel 9.4.0 Drivers VGA nVidia Nvinject 256MB 512MB nVidiaLaptop System SATA Using the above settings I was able to successfully boot to the OS X desktop. I then attempted to update to 10.5.5 using the below guide (my notes are in red): Open Finder and navigate to /System/Library/Extensions/ Open Terminal Type sudo -s in Terminal {password} [enter] Copy paste this into Terminal while sleep 1; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext; done [enter] Open the .dmg UPDATER file and install When the install finishes DO NOT click REBOOT! Go back to your Finder window and make sure AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext is not there. It was not there. Go back to the Terminal and do Ctrl + c Type this in Teminal open -a TextEdit [enter] TextEdit did not open. Opened the file using nano. \ In TextEdit Open the file /System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/1 Modify the line /System/Library/Extensions/Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext This line was not present to /System/Library/Extensions/dsmos.kext Save the file. I then restarted the computer. On the first reboot it automatically restarted, on the second reboot it locked up. I am able to boot to a desktop if I boot using the option -x. If I go to about this mac it shows "version 10.5.5" I am not sure what to do at this point. Is there a way to find out why it will not boot into normal mode? I have attached a file which shows information about the computer. Thanks for any help. lspci.txt
  4. New iAtkos 4i install on m1730

Hello, I was able to get the sound to work using AppleHDAPatcher_v1.16. I also was able to get one of the 8700m GT working using NVkush. I am still unable to get either of the network adapters working. I tried iwi4965. This did not work. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks
  5. I just installed the iAtkos 4i "OSX 10.5.4" distribution on my Dell XPS m1730. When I did the install I partitioned the hard drive did a clean install. The only drivers I chose were the following: Video: NVinject for 256 and 512 and the NVinject Go System: SATA Network: Intel The system starts up fine and I can get to a desktop. I get the following message on startup: "System extension cannot be used The system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/NvinjectGo.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update" I cannot choose a screen resolution other than 1024x768. The sound does not work. Neither the Ethernet nor the Wireless network connections work. The specifications of the laptop are as follows: Intel Core 2 Duo T8300(2.4GHz, 800Mhz, 3M L2 Cache) 4GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm NVIDIA SLI Dual GeForce 8700MGT with 512MB GDDR3 Memory (256 memory per GPU) Intel 4965 WLAN (802.11a/g/n) Mini Card AGEIA PhysX Physics Accelerator Logitech Gaming LCD Sigmatel Audio Chipset If anyone knows how I may get the video, sound and network working it would be a great help. Thank You
