  1. Yeah... I already mentioned I've tried iDeneb 10.5.6 with the same result.
  2. Anyone able to help out with this laptop? I got past the black screen problems by deleting all of the nvidia drivers using single user mode, then starting back over with the nVidia 9000 series installer v2 followed by NVdarwin, both 1.2.3 and 1.2.5 (not at the same time of course), but once I get either installed again I go right back to a black screen once the system is booted and have to delete all nVidia references in my extensions once again. Safe mode doesn't get around this problem either, it boots to a black screen as well. I don't know what to do at this point, I've tried everything I can think of.
  3. Having issues with this laptop left and right.. first off, I tried a retail install and don't even get to the installer before I get a kernel panic. I then tried iDeneb 1.4 (10.5.6) which installed with no problems but when the system boots I get to a black screen even when attempting a safe mode boot. Laptop's an HDX 16 with the lower resolution screen. Edit: Had to boot single user mode and delete anything relating to nVidia for iDeneb. Got retail to boot but my keyboard and touchpad don't work at all.
  4. Thanks but... pretty sure Skype still doesn't support SIP.
  5. iComic on iPhone 3G 2.2 (with Mac Install)

Not sure if you noticed but I'm running 10.5.5 right now. I personally use BetterZip for all my file (de)compressing. What I was saying is that I have no use for converting a massive amount of archives between two archive formats. What kind of files are inside of the archive and how are they laid out inside the archive? Did you try setting permissions on the zip/cbz after you put it in the folder? Also, you might try a zip with no compression enabled.

Sorry, can't help you out there... Never had a problem where I needed to convert mass amounts of archives... heh, actually I rarely even create them at all.
  7. As predicted earlier this year, the App Store has finally broken the 10,000 application mark. See appstoreapps.com for the full write-up, and Mobclix for current App Store statistics.
  8. Okay, so I was looking around for a decent VoIP provider and I can't come up with anything that supports SIP that doesn't cost $40+ a month, or doesn't look somewhat on the weak side (as in they look like their service might disappear tomorrow). Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!
  9. uTorrent Mac 0.90 Beta Released

First off... really now, there's no evidence that anyone's produced that proves it collects data. (Not to mention it's against their own written policy.) Secondly, every time you download something via torrent, your IP is exposed to the people you're downloading from anyway... what if it's the MPAA in disguise? Third... PeerGuardian much? Enough with the conspiracy theories!
  10. Edit: Heh, just go to the front page news forum instead. Be aware that this is just a demonstration for the most part, and driver support is very lacking, but it is operational. "I'm pleased to announce that the Linux 2.6 kernel has been ported to Apple's iPhone platform, with support for the first and second generation iPhones as well as the first generation iPod touch. This is a rough first draft of the port, and many drivers are still missing, but it's enough that a real alternative operating system is running on the iPhone." Source: Linux on the iPhone Blog
  11. iComic on iPhone 3G 2.2 (with Mac Install)

Your problem is probably that you're trying to decompress a .rar file with a program that only supports .zip. iComic only supports zip, which means you can use .cbz or .zip A cbz file is a zip archive, while a cbr file is a rar archive, therefore renaming cbr to zip is not going to work... you need to extract it and re-archive it to zip first. Hope that helps, good luck!
  12. iPhone 3G 2.2 Update

At least you guys have an option... there's no such thing as 2G/2.5G here.
  13. iPhone 3G 2.2 Update

Yeah sorry, been meaning to update the thread... the PwnageTool for Mac works fine, but stay away from the QuickPwn if you want a real unlock in the future.
  14. Looking for a good multi-format e-book reader

Yeah, I personally use Docs and it works pretty well... my only complaint is the lack of clickable links in PDF files.
  15. how to disable iphone 3g edge

I know it's a little late, but a little info if you still care, for a jailbroken iPhone you can use BossPrefs... it's downloadable through Cydia if I remember correctly. It gives toggle switches for not only Edge, but also 3G, Wifi, Bluetooth, SSH Server, and all of your mail accounts, and you can also disable Apple's "killswitch" for apps it decides aren't in the end users' "best interests".
