  1. iMessage / App Store and iCloud

Just want to add a bit of info The above "answered" fix wasn't enough for me, it did fix icloud but not imessage, resetting my apple id password however did the trick to get imessage working again. thanks
  2. Thanks again for your help. So I totally recreated my Extra folder (btw, I have a fusion drive so I have the same Extra folder in both "Boot OS X" partition as told to do and one at the root of my OS just in case if it read something, so I guess that would seem to qualify as EFI kind of partition, are there know issue with that) now testing Mac mini 6.2 smbios besides internet and sound kext (S/L/E), only other one is FakeSMC (in extra, latest version) and hardware sensor kext latest chameleon. FileNVRAM module for iMessage(/icloud) to work rebooted after setting new smbios def, before creating a new ssdt.aml using "SSDT Install" with frequency option at 4200, renamed to ssdt.aml rebooted again all i get is 1.6Ghz->3.4Ghz (no in-between and no 4.2Ghz) -------------- all it took was one more rebuilt of kernel cache and an extra reboot I have full speetstep working, with multiple increment from 1.6 to 4.2. (my geekbench v2 score is even a touch higher than in ML) Thank you very much k3nny, without your couple pointer about ssdt file and the NullCPUPowerManagement i would have struggled much longer.
  3. there you go thanks Eliade_z77_ud3h_3570k.ioreg.txt
  4. removed dropssdt (i guess i was tired last night haha) still caps at 3.4Ghz attache ioreg and here is my org.chameleon.Boot.plist to be sure. <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>darkwake=0</string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>LoginToLion</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>2</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>Yes</string> Eliade_z77_ud3h_3570k.ioreg.txt
  5. sadly that didn't do it I installed latest chameleon r2266 removed the generate p and c state line and added dropssdt as you said double checked my bios for the 4.2ghz istat sill just goes between 1.6 and 3.4 and my geekbench score remains on the low end (10884 instead of ~12500) regarding imac 13.2 that's what i had thought, so I'm still using that. Anyway thank you very much for your help !
  6. that would be through dsdt right ? (now running dsdt free, but if that is the case i'll try that) thanks the way i followed my cpu speed was through istat with latest FakeSMC sensors installed. i'm running the same geekbench 2, but that's good to know about v3
  7. Hi, running 10.9 GM on a ga-z77-ds3h ivy 3570K nvidia 9600GT 512MB not sure where to go, my bios remained the same from ML geek bench clearly shows the 2000points drop from ML. Bios and Win 7 still sees overclock. 3.4Ghz -> 4.2Ghz saw somewhere to add SMmaximalclock in smbios, tried it tried both Mac Pro 5.1 and iMac 13.2 system definition ---- also not sure if related, but html5 video playback in safari is very choppy ---- if it wasn't for the multi monitor support i'd go back to ML Thanks
  8. OS X 10.9 myHack USB Installer Beta

FUSION DRIVE this is not a how to, but just a mention that it is easily doable on mavericks and using myhack in the process , for those wanting a fusion drive with very little effort a few hard drive to spare you can do it. after installing a clean Maverick with all the updates to DP8 (latest currently) using myhack on a temporary OSX drive also used for the setup of a fusion drive (128SSD with a 160GB standard hard drive) It all worked perfectly well, so for people interested, you can safely do it, and pretty strait forward. instead of the more common carbon copy cloner technic I saw, I instead made an image of that clean Maveric install (from a different install) and used that to restore it onto the created fusion drive. I followed a tutorial aimed for Mountain lion (first one on google), but did it all in Mavericks DP8. I'm on a ga-Z77-ud3h cheers
  9. Well I just bought my new system, receiving it tomorrow. Keeping everything else, including video card ( 9600gt ), I'm not a big gamer, maybe down the road I'll upgrade but as long as it plays 1080p movies flawlessly I'm happy. Just upgraded to - i5-3570k ( almost same as i7-3770k but without hyper-threading, it might be a good thing but didn't have that extra $100 for it ) - corsair vengeance 2x8gb (CML16GX3M2A1600C10), the low profile version, in case I upgrade the included cpu cooler to a monster size one ( the timing aren't as good as the 4x4gb package for the same price, but didn't think this would be really noticeable ) so that I can eventually and easily upgrade to 32gb down the road, ( Firefox, Lightroom and photoshop running together are going to be happy ) - the gigabyte ep45-ud3r was good with me, ( unlike the shuttle computers that eventually all died, sad because they ran osx rather well, those good quality capacitor in the gigabyte does play a role and isn't just marketing on the box) so decided to stick with them with a GA-Z77-DS3H, cheaper end of the available spectrum, but probably best buy for the money. At least it is latest technology ( USB 3 is onboard, don't know yet if it works with osx, but since apple has it in the new MacBook Pro I believe it should be working out of the box, the usb3 being run by the intel chipset and the CPU, no third party chipset) A rather fresh computer under the hood for $410 isn't too bad. Cheaper and much much faster than a current Mac mini. ( of course recycling the case, psu, hard drive and video card does help keep the price down ) I did a little research at what is available and that seemed like a good buy for the money and power, if you have an extra $100 to throw in then get the i7-3770K for it's hyperthreading if you think it will benefit you. ( K is for unlocked, OC potential, which I may do if I see an actually difference in speediness in a regular daily routine) Plus that system is also recommended by the hackintosh community ( tonymacx86's website, so should be really easy to get osx up and running in no time. And the board comes with a VGA and dvi and hdmi out which uses the graphic processor integrated in the CPU, so three monitors might be happening ( well not yet for me ) and if it does work in osx, which I tend to believe so, since MacBook Pro uses it. Cheers!
  10. Thanks for testing it, I added it to the first post.
  11. I'm still using 10.7.0 and updating after in case of full os reinstall, not efficient I guess but it works and trouble less. Anyway in your case you should reformat your USB stick to GUID and your problem should be solved (unless that OSinstall I posted work for 10.7.0 only) I use a USB HD for my install with GUID and works well for me. If you want to stay with MBR, then try that one (have not tried it just found it on google) MBR patch for 10.7.3: 10.7.3 MBR Patch.zip Let me know if it works for you and I'll add it to the first post...
  12. 10.7.3 calls for a refined extra folder (old one should still work though), and little updates on the guide (the bonjour fix is optional and part of the troubleshooting section, seems to works fine without it) download link to a newer chameleon 2.1 1770 (maybe not the latest but rather recent and definitely stable for me) Wake on Lan from sleep now works perfectly well (thanks to new chameleon, download on first post, and thanks to a new boot.plist option called darkwake, so update it as well, part of the updated extra folder). -Software update to 10.7.2 or 10.7.3 needs a newer boot before the update if updating from 10.7.1 or 10.7.0 with older boot file posted previously (New boot files available first post), AppleHDA may need to be re-replaced in S/L/E. -Software update to 10.7.3 from 10.7.2 Should be a simple strait forward update (AppleHDA may need to be re-replaced in S/L/E). a side note: I had a few crashes after installing too many font in 10.7.2 (fontd process was responsible for the crash), but seems like it was a OSX problem and not related to osx86 machines. hopefully 10.7.3 will solve that. besides that my machine is rock solid (I removed most fonts I added to get my stability back) another side note: I gave up on IDE drive, in 10.7.2, it would unmount after sleep, besides that it worked fine, I had one for my time machine (I actually kept it, just converted it to a sata with a little IDE to SATA converter)
  13. Yes you'll need a newer boot file if you install a 10.7.2 version of the installer (wait for root device error otherwise...), with 10.7.3 out I'll updates all the files on the first post, sorry got busy and didn't update first post since 10.7.1. A month ago I decided to reinstall with a fresh fresh lion and user account (had stuff and preferences from snow leo), and updated my HD 160GB didn't cut it for me anymore, so now have a 500Gb for my main HD, and while at it I looked for better files, at least for 10.7.2, everything should work for 10.7.3 as stated above by alienbiker99. about to reboot to install 10.7.3...
  14. thanks for the link SkyBoy had the same error, this boot file is the one I repost the boot file here TO UPDATE TO 10.7.2 1/ before the update, replace your boot file with the following one (root of your hard drive, may possibly be invisible you can still just drag it over, it will ask you for permition) boot_for_10.7.2_and_icloud.zip 2/ do a simple software update (this will kill your sound after restart, so have appleHDA ready, also found in the pack) to get up to 10.7.2 3/ and just replace the applehda (with the one from the pack, same file since 10.7.0) run kextutiliy and reboot voila, enjoy iCloud with iOS5 Can be a bit weird with duplicate data at first, but once in place it works like wonders, i use the calendar all the time, and having it synced between my hack/ipad/ipod is so much more efficient to avoid duplicates, before you activate icloud: if you use the calendar/contacts, I recommend doing a last sync between your ipod/ipad/iphone with your mac, so that your mac is up to date, then disable calendar/contact sync in itunes (it will ask you if you want to delete all the contact/calendar data from portable device, say yes, just be sure your mac has it all, when you activate icould it it will get the proper calendar/contact from your mac through icloud, without duplicates),
  15. WARNING about 10.7.2 Just tried updating A simple software update will lead to a "Still waiting for root device" during boot So don't update yet until a solution is found Some people probably tried beta version of 10.7.2 so the solution is probably already out there POSSIBLE SOLUTION Have to get back to a working environment to try that But you may just need a newer chameleon Version r14xx and above Google for "chameleon wizard" should point you to insanely Mac topic Download the app it allows you do download the latest releases of chameleon including r16xx which should work with 10.7.2 ( thankfully I had a second hack ( unused, what a shame haha) , so I'll be able to revive my main hack with it )
