  1. I reinstalled using your directions and it worked right out of the box! Thanks so much verdant! You're the best!
  2. oh yeah i saw that guide but i was confused because i didnt think the 9.5.0 voodoo kernel would work with my system because it doesnt say it supports sse3. I'm reinstalling now i'll post back soon
  3. I didn't choose an AppleSMBIOS :/ is that the problem?
  4. Btw, OS X recognizes my processor as a 200mhz processor. Idk if that is significant. I am using menu meters and they are showing all 4 cores working, but it is recognized wrong for some reason. Idk if that has anything to do with the panic?
  5. i did mean 3072 that was a typo, and i installed the IOATAFamily.kext with the 10.5.6 dvd lol
  6. Btw just to make sure, I booted with maxmem=3076 and it still crashed. Just figured I'd tell you so we can rule that out
  7. Yes I installed the nForceATA.kext from iPC's options on the iPC OSx86 disk
  8. Alright verdant this is the screenshot of the error. I attached the jpg file. It occurred this time while trying to install xcode. I also found that it occurs when trying to stream videos (e.g. trying to watch an episode of the tv show "Chuck" on nbc.com) I received the same thing
  9. Alright I'll try to give that a try today, but I probably won't have enough time, so I'll get back to you when I do try it Alright I'll try to give that a try today, but I probably won't have enough time, so I'll get back to you when I do try it
  10. I actually already tried that one. I don't think it should matter that I have 2 gfx cards tho because mac offers the mac pro with up to 4 cards, and I've seen other hackintosh users with dual cards...
  11. no it just freezes. That's only after I add the EFI string for some reason. I did it just like they said. Go to the graphics thing in osx86 tools, custom GeForce, type in nVidia GeForce 9500GT, select 1024mb, select DVI/DVI. Idk what is wrong. The operating system recognizes that the 2 cards are plugged in when i go into the system profiler, but it just says they are unknown. It just registers them as outputs i think, but it's not hardware accelerating or anything. Can't change my resolution, and when I drag windows they get really messed up (can't really explain better than that). Idk if I'm doing something wrong maybe?
  12. I am using the iPC nforceLAN option under the ethernet tab. I did what you said with osx86 tools and it worked! The only problem now is it bricked my system! Every time i boot up it gives me the restart gray screen. I booted in verbose to see the error. It reports some like 10 line crash and the does this: AppleNForceATA: found 0 units Feb 20 18:07:33 robbies-132-yw-e178-ftw kextd[10]: IOKitWaitQuiet() timed out waiting to write kernel symbols
  13. The NVIDIA 9500GT Thread

I'm not quite sure what you are referring to. I was trying to add the custom EFI string with OSx86 tools. I selected 1024 mb and DVI/DVI configuration and added it to the list. The problem is, when I go to add it to the boot list, it gives me an error. I'm not sure how to get around this.
  14. I figured out what the problem is. When i use osx86 tools to add the EFI string, I do everything they instruct to do. However, when it comes to actually add it to the boot string, it says that it can't be found and gives me an error. How do I fix this?
  15. The NVIDIA 9500GT Thread

guys i've been reading your thread and trying the solutions, but i can't seem to get my 9500gt working. I have a BFG tech 9500 GT 1GB card, and I can't seem to get it recognized by mac os x. If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it
