  1. Ok, this is unknown to me. I am completely confused. What the hell... I'm trying to update my Hackintosh with 10.6.5 using the Combo Update. The install will work fine and it will ask me to restart. When I restart, I'm back to 10.6.4! WTF?????????? Software Update will also install it, but when it asks me to restart, it actually just logs me off and then logs me back in, still in 10.6.4, with no reboots! Does anybody know what's the problem here? When I tried the first time, it booted up to the Desktop and then it threw me an error about a font used by OS X had to be fixed... Is that a clue?  Thanks
  2. Radeon HD 5870 / HD 5850

I had the same exact thing happen on my 5750 until someone told me to connect 2 DVI cables. All of a sudden, IT WORKED! At native resolution with QE/CI enabled. Have you tried doing that? At least try having 2 ports connected, either using a VGA cable, HDMI, DP, etc. As long as there are 2 sources. After doing that for the first time, I did not need to keep the 2 DVI cables plugged in. Now it works normally everytime I boot OS X.
  3. Hello guys! I tried cloning my Leopard drive to another one some time ago using a tool (I forget the name, it was in a thread from here, couldn't find it now though ). I remember choosing it as a "Hackintosh", after it did its thing, it said the "clone was successful" but I couldn't boot from it (maybe the bootloader was not carried over to the other drive?). Sooooooooooooo now I have a nice install of Snowie, but I need to move it to another drive. Is it possible to do it? If so, how? Do I need to reinstall the bootloader? Thanks for your help!
  4. Choppy Animations under Snowie?

Hello scififan68, I really appreciate your help. However, that didn't work. Also, I never really had any mouse lag problems, as as I can tell that's the workaround people use. but I was hopeful this would have fixed it. That's really weird to me, because the jerky animations are observed only when Minimizing and Restoring windows from the Dock. Any other suggestions? I appreciate the help. EDIT. Read update on first post
  5. Guys, any of you having this problem? My Leopard was fine. I'm using the same EFI strings as before and while I have full QE/CI acceleration (even OpenCL is enabled) , my animations are choppy and jerky as hell! It's almost as if QE is disabled, but I'm pretty sure it's not. The ONLY way I am able to enjoy having fluid animations again is by running QuartzSimple, which basically turns off V-Sync (BeamSync), but then it introduces some image tearing when watching videos on Quicktime Is there anything I can tweak in the driver itself? Or is it a bad EFI string? NVInjector produces the same problems. Does anyone else have this annoying problem and know how to fix it? Thanks so much! My specs: - 8800GTS 640MB (XFX) x16 - Gigabyte 965P-DS3 (3.3) - Marvell 8056 - ALC888 - Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66Ghz @ 3.5Ghz UPDATE. WHAT THE @&(? If I go to the Dock properties and use "Minimize the windows into the application icon" instead of minimizing them to the far right of the dock, THE STUTTER IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!! Once again minimizing and restoring windows are smooth. Anybody know what's going on here?
  6. Has anyone recieved theirs yet?

Yes sir, here's a good guide: http://www.infinitemac.com/f57/guide-insta...ck-drive-t3705/ I used this guide, Works AMAZING here.
  7. Hey guys! First of all since this is my 1st post I'd like to thank everyone from this forum for helping out all of us. I've been lurking here for a long time and learned a great deal about OSX. I need help Everytime I click on 2+ windows in the Dock from the same application, the windows freeze for about 6 seconds before coming back to normal. This ALWAYS happened on my Hackintosh and even in my Macbook although it doesn't last as long (1 - 2 seconds). Does anyone else experience the same thing? I've searched the forums but found nothing. Thanks. Specs: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 v3.3 Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.6Ghz @ 3.48Ghz OCZ 4GB 800 Mhz
