  1. Hi, many thanks to the dream team (Donk, Zenith, Msok). Fresh migration from Win7x64+VM714 to Ubuntu11.10x64+VM8. All running very smootly : SL 1068 Li 1072(thank you Shawken for updated summary) New comer : WIN7SP1x64 I migrated the hardware to VM8 and sound seems a bit better on Lion...really...???? So far I feel that OSX runs a bit faster on Linux vs Win 7, but SL is even smoother. On the other hand Win7 is really beating the CPUs for no reason.... I must says WIN7x64 was very comfy running SL & Lion at once...Linux seems to struggle...maybe unity related.... Anyway, THANK YOU.
  2. Well, thank you for the quick answer, future patch and everything for the past 2 years ! And thanks to MSOK for his patience and availability too.
  3. Hi Donk, I'm holding my breath for a Linux update. Am I going to die before you release the patch for VM8 Linux ? More seriously, do you think you will get it out before your October-November back to "real" work period? I'm running 11.04 (btrfs) + WS714 with 10.6;10.7,W7-64 and I'm planning to go for Linux Kernel 3.x for better btrfs. I'm sure you have all the HW to test linux but in case you need testing I'd gladly help. Thanks.
  4. Hi, I'm calling to the encyclopedic knowledge of Mac Son of Knife and others : I just upgraded to vmware to WK713 after being happy with SL10.6.5 @ WK7.0@W7x64 : sound ok + auto fit guest I reapplied darwin310-1064 and then I get stuck on the glossy new apple startup logo and the wheel. If I boot with -v : stuck also (of course) but I can see that it stops at the Lan interface loading. If I boot with -v -f : ALL good just as before WK713 but I'm stuck with the need to type -f on boot options. If I replace the darwin.iso in 310 (glossy apple boot logo) with the one in darwin-wks7 (black apple boot logo) : ALL good and no boot option required. I believe darwin.iso@310 is chameleon and darwin.iso@wks7 is not. I run intel quad core q9400@stock 2.66, of which 2 cores are for my SL1065 vm + 2 GB DDR2 ram (out of 8) with 310 : Apple says I have 2x2.65 unknown, 2 GB DDR2 ram with wks7 : Apple says I have 2x4.30 unknown, 2 GB ram I'm not sure if this is cosmetics or should I really bother to get 310 working without boot options? Thanks for any advice. 5. Is this why I get a black screen when I remote desktop into my SL vm? THanks.
  6. Hi Donk, just to make sure, the CPU frequency is not right: does it matter, can it be fixed? Also, is there a way to put a timeout and allow for boot disk selection? I use Snow64 and Leo64 side by side on the same disk (actually ISCSI in WIN7) and I'd like to be able to have some seconds to choose which OS to boot the VM with. I understand it is in darwin.iso, but can this be changed? Somehow? Thanks anyway.
  7. Hi Donk, all good, SL64 and L64 running side by side on Q4-9400 @ 2.66Ghz. One little thing, both vms show the processor at 4,30Ghz. L64 uses 2 procs with 1 core : shows at 2x 4,30 Ghz SL64 uses 1 proc with 2 cores shows at 1x 4,30 Ghz. Actually it's not a big deal, just curious. Thanks x 4,30 Ghz, great work. I support people with Leo, SLeo, Unix, Win(xyz), so vms are a must for me. Thank you again.
  8. Hi all, does this work with SL64 and Win7x64+VM7? I get a forever "Loading DVD..." message and nothing. I can make an older 10.5.x install/work easily/quickly. So I guess I'm good on settings/vmx. But not SL... Thanks. Edit: IT WORKS, with uncorrupted cdr(iso) file ....Thanks 10e9 Donk.
