1. Plug another cable into the video card at the same time. ie use hdmi and ddvi together and see if it works. Try several combos, has worked for me in the past.
2. Okay so, AC3 Passthru?! I am using my P8P67 for a Home Theater Build. The only App that will pass Dolby Digital to my receiver via optical out is XBMC, plex/vlc/blu-ray player/etc. apps all just do 2 channel stereo. Also, XBMC will only play a DD file once and then all sound on the system cuts out until I exit XBMC and re-open it. Does anyone have any ideas / kexts/ edits I can try to get this resolved? Is this an issue with OSX/Hackintosh or everyone else's apps but XBMC? Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. I am also running a P8Z68 Deluxe and may have to swap them or something if I can't resolve. We use the HTMAC heavily.
3. Love this board, I just wish a fix would come out for AC3 DD5.1 pass thru... This is my Theater Mac and the lack of 5.1 over optical sucks! Oddly enough I rolled it back to 10.6.7 and still only get stereo over the optical. I think this X86 is out to get me!
4. Hey Andy, Built my system around yours and have been running Lion since you posted this with 100% success (aside from the following quirk) No matter how many times I shut down and restart my audio works 100%, UNTIL I boot into Windows. After using Windows and then booting back into OSX all my audio devices are gone and I have to re-run your installer to get them back. This enables audio until I use Windows again (even if I restart or shutdown and reboot into OSX). I dunno man I am lost. Any ideas?
5. Same here, same system. Here is my work around: I cloned my install to another drive before doing the lion upgrade. I used ##### to boot into that install and ran Andy's post installer package pointed at my new Lion install, rebooted and boom. Aside from that hiccup all went swimmingly. Thanks Andy! Genius giving us the Bluetooth support Andy, if you don't have a magic trackpad for Lion its totally worth it!
6. Bah, the display port is picking up @ 2560X1440 like it should but that port will not display anything at all no matter what I try... looks like a graphics rollback is in order. Any suggestions?
7. Well, the 10.6.8 update chucked a KP at the end, but the system rebooted into 10.6.8 regardless. I re-ran the combo update to be sure nothing got jacked up and it ran fine the second time. Unfortunately my Radeon 5870 Eyefinity 6 2GB is now being recognized as a Radeon HD 5000. Time to get to work on this and see if I can get it back to its former glory.
8. Eject, re-insert the Snow Leopard DVD to see if that jogs it? If your really stuck, restore the SL DVD to a thumb drive and try a USB install.
9. Try changing Graphics Enable = Yes instead of no in the com.apple.boot.plist on the HD in the Extra folder and boot from HD. See if that works.
10. Andyboot4 (the one you re-uploaded with the 6K fix, I believe still the latest)
11. Thanks Andy! I have been building x86s for about 3 years now and this was one of the easiest. I am using: P8P67 Pro R3.1 Sapphire 5870 Eyefinity 6 2GB 8GB Corsair XMS3 I am using a 10.6.0 install DVD and your boot loader installed first try, no problem, very easy, well done. Booting into 10.6 was no trouble at all. I did hit a hiccup after the 10.6.7 combo though. In verbose, the OS would hang @ "acpi_smc_platformplugin timed out appleintelcpupowermanagement" I either solved this by changing "Graphics Enable" to yes in the plist or installing NullCPUPowerManagement and FakeSMC with #####, not sure which, did them both at the same time and haven't messed with it since. As of now everything is running very well. The only annoyance is that after the OS loads I have to turn my monitor off and back on or unplug/replug the video cable to get an image and the audio pop. Not terrible, but if you have any suggestion I am all ears. Now that I am up and running and have a clone of this install I am going to start working on getting it to sleep and do some tweeking. Well done, happy to have such a monster of a hackintosh. Thanks!
12. 5870 up and running 64 bit natively

I got a 5870 up and running this weekend on 64bit as well. 1.) Install via Kakewalk and use kabyl's boot file with uakari flag on the install drive 2.) Software update to current via Software Update tool 3.) Done It was so bloody simple too bad I spent about 15 hours on every other insanely complex and difficult solution first... figures. #Cheers!
13. Sapphire HD 5870 Eyefinity 6 w/2GB GDDR5 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: ATI Technologies Inc Unknown device [1002:6898] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: ATI Technologies Inc Unknown device [1002:0b00] -- 01:00.1 Audio device [0403]: ATI Technologies Inc Unknown device [1002:aa50] Subsystem: ATI Technologies Inc Unknown device [1002:aa50] First off, let me start by saying I am not nuts. What I have come up with is happy accidents and dumb luck. I hope being an expert you can glean some usefulness of this as I don't understand how I got it all working, but its working brilliantly w/ Uakari only: This card has 6xMiniDP ports on it to support the 6 screen eyefinity feature. Basically, the card allows the right most signal to take priority and act as screen one. If I plug up a monitor into the right most port, I can use DVI, DL-DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort. The cables that are capable can carry full 2560x1440@60hz to my 27" screen and its gorgeous. If I plug an input into the second mini display port, the main display on slot 1 dies and nothing is displayed on slot 2. If I remove slot 1, slot 2 becomes the primary monitor and displays a picture. If I plug an input into the third mini display port, it becomes my second monitor and slot one becomes active again, so long as the input in slot 2 is not removed. Yes, for slot 3 to be my second monitor, I have to have a cable plugged into slot 2. Just plugging in the MiniDP dongle will not work, it has to be an HDMI, DVI, Etc. cable. This cable does not however have to terminate to a monitor, it just has to be present. If I plug an input into the 4th - 6th ports, nothing happens. So: To get 1x 27" monitor @ 2560x1440 and a second, 22" Acer @ 1920x1080 to work, I have to do the following. Slot 1- 27" via DisplayPort Slot 2- any cable to nothing Slot 3- 22" acer via HDMI, DVI, etc. Thanks so much for your contribution I hope my data is of assistance to you and its not too much trouble to decipher. Please PM if I can provide more. Thanks! Sapp_5870_Eyefinity_2GB_GDDR5.zip
14. Kernel Panic after 24hrs every time

Well, I stand corrected. After I deleted "GenericCPUPowerManagement.kext", I did have a panic as stated above, but since that Panic I haven't had so much as a hick up in six days. My suggestion is to delete the kext as Layne suggests and then reboot. It has completely resolved the issue on my MSI Wind PC. Best of luck everyone!
