  1. The inevitable P8P67 Pro install guide...

I also had this same problem, several months ago I ended up breaking my system with a bogus driver, now I get the grey screen when I start up. I gave up after that My boot loader also sometimes doesn't allow the USB to work, so I have to reset my computer 3-4 times before I can change the boot selection to boot to my windows drive. I'm kinda lost now because I haven't thought about this is such a long time. If you get it working, I'll be watching so I can try the same thing.
  2. [HOW TO] ADI AD2000B Fully working

Worked great....not. I got a kernel panic, and a grey screen. I cleared out the kexts, but now it won't let me do anything. This sucks. I can work with no sound...I can't work with no operating system. eff me. EDIT I reinstalled the entire OS with NAWCOM boot loader (the new version of empire EFI), and everything came up right away. I even heard sound, but its REALLY low volume! I have my speakers and all controls maxed out but it's still barely a whisper. I'll try reloading the kext you linked AFTER I take an image of the drive. EDIT 2 Well this was strange. I tried intalling it again. When I restarted I got a kernel panic...again. After yelling and screaming for a couple minutes, I decided to try loading up my NAWCOM boot disk, but boot into my osx install. I got in, and reinstalled chameleon RC5. I restarted again, everything came back up....then I heard a LOUD *DOOT* when something popped up on my computer. hmm...that was loud. I load up itunes and play a song, then suddenly im BLASTED with Lamb of God. long story short, i installed your driver, got a kernel panic, then reinstalled chameleon rc5 and now everything works perfectly. I don't know...don't understand...but don't care because it works now. BTW...nawcom is awesome. Even though I probably didn't have to wipe and restart, I'm kinda glad I did.
  3. 8800 GT to Quadro FX 3700

Booim, Thanks for the tip! I'll try it. I accidentally killed my snow leopard disc, but apple is sending me a new one. I'm starting over because I screwed with it too much and it wouldn't boot....but that's a whole different topic. EDIT: OK I'm back up and running (apple actually sent me a new disc for free, lol). I'm posting from my hackintosh OSX as a matter of fact. Everything seems to be running great, my dualies are up and the resolution looks pretty sharp. my only problem right now is that openGL doesnt seem to want to work. Any thoughts? again, thank you so much for your help EDIT2: Got OSX to see 515mb by editing the file in the kext package. I STILL can't get QE working though. Is there a way to fix it without messing with the boot loader? I believe I'm using chameleon, but the last time i touched it I broke the whole damn thing. It works great right now, shuts down, sleeps, restarts, all without any problems...i don't want to mess that up EDIT 3: IT WORKS! I used this. http://######.com/index.php?option=...9&Itemid=48 The universal installer, I ended up going back to my 8800GT flash, but I don't really care right now, i just wanted to have my video working properly and IT WORKS!!!
  4. 8800 GT to Quadro FX 3700

Hello! First of all I'd like to say THANK YOU!!! This has been extremely helpful. I flashed my bios and actually have a noticable improvement in windows 7. However...OSX is a different story Here's what's happening. I couldn't convince OSX to see the card, it kept defaulting even after the flash. I figured from reading a post in this thread that it was a chameleon problem. What I didn't know is how to properly edit chameleon to include graphics support. I tried reinstalling it and it gave me an error...then it wouldn't boot. I had to load it up with empire EFI and my dualies worked, video looked good too! The weird part is that now my OSX sees what should be a Quadro fx3700 as a Geforce 8800GT. Hmm. Any suggestions? I'm thinking of fixing chameleon first, uninstall and reinstall with the correct settings to fix my boot problem. I'm willing to live with the identity crisis if everything works properly, but I do get a GL error when I try to open second life...do you know anything about that one? thank you again! EDIT: Yeah, I have like chameleon 2 or 3. First thing I'm doing when I get home is to get the latest version. I'll post my results in this post unless someone posts after me. Still no idea on the GL error. EDIT 2: Looks like a lot of my problems may be solved by editing the boot plist....learning is fun GraphicsEnabler=Yes|No Automatic device-properties generation for graphics cards. VideoROM=<file> Use an alternate ROM image (default path: /NVIDIA.ROM). VBIOS=Yes|No Inject VBIOS to device-properties. Looks like I can set the boot loader to load the Quadro setup right from the ROM that I just flashed the card with, is that right?
  5. OSX86 on Intel P45 chipset?

Cool, this is going to have to wait until i can scrounge up the $30 then...but I think I'll be fine once i get it going.
  6. OSX86 on Intel P45 chipset?

wow thank you so much! That should be enough to get me going, I'll post my progress. This actually looks very straightforward... It looks like I can just go straight in with the purchased version of snow leopard 10.6? or did you first install the 10.5 system and then go up from there?
  7. OSX86 on Intel P45 chipset?

Hey there, please be gentle on me, I know how annoying the lame noob questions are. I want to do this, I just want an idea of what I'm doing before I go screwing with my bios, etc. Is there any chance I could get someone experienced with this hardware setup to IM me or something? I'm not a complete moron, but it's hard finding info specific to my hardware... Here's what I have Motherboard: P5Q3 DELUXE/WIFI-AP CH1-11 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale 3.16GHz RAM: G.SKILL 2x2GB 240-Pin DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Video Card: BFG Tech GeForce 8800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 I also have an extra 500 gig hard drive to throw at this project. I'm sure I'm just making this harder for myself, but I figured it can't hurt to ask. AIM: ORLY Luci Yahoo: lucifercaitiff or you can reply here. Among my questions for getting started on this, is there a specific version of OSx86 will run best with my hardware? Anything special I need to do with it once I......acquire it? What do I need to do to my bios for this? I'm sure I'll have many more quetions once I get going, but this should keep me occupied for a while. thanks
