  1. Hey guys, The Intel Atom 330 board was my first step in the Hackintosh world. I wet my feet with that board. I am happy I did because almost everything worked out of the box perfectly. But yesterday I just couldn't stand the speed of the Atom, it was too slow for my needs. Although I don't use programs such as Photoshop, but I am a heavy net user and have around 50 tabs open in Firefox. Plus I noticed that copying files over the network (gigabit) was slow because of the processor. Anyway, see my signature to find out what I got. I am extremely happy with the hardware choices I made and this is by far the fastest OS X computer I have ever used.
  2. GeForce 8500 GT 512 MB Owners

Dude, that worked perfectly for me!!! I have Full QC/CI. Everything works absolutely flawlessly!! The only step I didn't do was the copy the .plist file. Any issues if I didn't do that? Thanks for everything man!! I got a fully supported car for under 40 dollars and it works great!!! Perfect for viewing my Divx movies
  3. Upgrading to 10.5.3 via the Kalyway update is a breeze and everything works fine. Also 10.5.4 is very very easy. I would suggest going up to 10.5.4 as a minimum. No need to shout about it. I know many people have had luck going up to 10.5.5 but not me. I've followed all the instructions to the .
  4. Using my D945GCLF2 board I can upgrade to 10.5.4 perfectly (I still have a reboot problem), but other than that everything is perfect. But I've tried over 4 times to upgrade to 10.5.5 but always manage to hose my system
  5. I just wanted to confirm that my hackintosh build did not work (i.e. Blank DVD not detected) with a LG GH22 drive. However, I just bought a SAMSUNG S223F drive which is the same thing except without LightScribe support, and I am burning an ISO as we speak.
  6. By the way, I upgraded the chipset fan to this in my atom board. http://www.coolermaster.com/products/produ...e=1&id=3875
  7. DVD Writer - LG GH-22

To further add: It detects burned DVD's (i.e. reads the contents). Including Imation discs. It detects and burns all types of CDR's. I have a whole lot of ISO's I want to burn, so I need this to work. Please help??
  8. It's a pretty solid board. Running Kalyway upgraded to 10.5.3 (soon to 10.5.5) and it's running like a champ!! No hiccups, slowdowns or crashes. I'm thoroughly amazed at how well this dual core Atom performs. It even seems as fast if not faster than my wifes 1st Gen Macbook!!!
  9. I bought a new DVD writer the LG GH-22 and it doesn't seem to detect blank DVD's. I haven't tried other brands as I only have Imation with me right now. The complete symptoms are: It detects the DVD, but doesn't detect any free space on it. It says it has 0k available, so in effect I can't burn because it says insert disk with more space. I just bought the drive and would hate to have it redundant. Please advise if I can somehow get this drive working properly. One more thing, it seems that normal CD's work fine. I haven't tried burning a CD though.
  10. The thread you pointed me to is from 10.5.4 to 10.5.5, what about if I have 10.5.3? Sorry for being so anal, but the forums are huge and searching is not the easiest thing in the world
  11. How did you manage to get to 10.5.5? I used the method in the first post and I am at 10.5.3 perfectly. Everything works fine. Can you please let me know how to get to 10.5.5? Thanks in advance!
  12. Just to let you know, this has very little to do with the computing power of the Atom CPU. It has more to do with the GMA950 video card which does not have any decoding features to offload the stress from the CPU. that being said even modest C2D's have issues rendering high rez videos on their own. I am also looking for a PCI video card with decoding features. Will keep you posted on how my search goes. Regards,
