1. hi is there anyone still looking at this form just wondering about the 10.7.3 update and if people have that working?
2. osx boot hangs on bootscreen

you have to look up before the system update in nanoseconds look for the word kext. It seems like one of them is causing your kernal panic
3. Also note before you install you might need to remove 4 gigs of ram so you only have a maximum of 4 gigs (one of the reqs on tony mac's #####+##### setup)
4. Introduce yourself.

I started here along time ago back on leopard 10.5.0 on my dell inspiron 1520...finally decided to come back now that I got a new laptop ready to have mac on it!
5. finally got it working, I think it was due to the error I got after rebooting where I couldn't log in with the create a user. Once I created a new one tried the update it worked.
6. I just tried with 10.6.5 combo update and same exact message as the one above anyone have any insight?
7. Hey all, I have an Asus G51 JX -a1 laptop that has 6 gigs of ram, core i7 720qm, nvidia geforce gts 360M video card. I was following a guide that someone wrote about installing to a similar laptop and basically this is whats happening. I have a retail mac os x 10.6.3 cd and I was using nawcom's bootloader -I started the bootloader, and eventually swapped the cd's got to the install screen create 2 partition drive using GUID partiton table (I think that's what it is called) and set the first partiton to mac os extended(Journaled) -Install seemed to go fine didn't have any issues I restarted swapped cd's again and this time picked to boot from the MAC drive i created -Got the welcome screen and went through the startup stuff -But here is the first issue. When I get to the Create new account and type my info and hit next it just hangs on this screen saying creating new account... it never gets passed this so I restart the computer and next time I log in i'm at the login screen and I can login with the account/password I set up -Next I copy over the 10.6.6 combo update and ##### extract both and just before installing I repair my disc permissions. -the 10.6.6 update goes all the way till there is < 1 min left and then I get the error. I have attached the log it created The only thing I can think of is since ##### states you should only have 4 gigs of ram, and mine has 6 could that be causing the error? I haven't tried removing ram yet from my laptop but if that's what is needed ill give it a shot thanks. Installer_Log_21_Feb_2011.txt
8. Hey I have a dell inspiron 1520, and just recently updated to 10.5.5, when I had 10.5.4 I used the v1.3 installer to install sigmatel 9205 drivers, then after it was done used os 86 tools to repair permissions, restarted the comp but couldn't get sound. So the sound still doesn't work for 10.5.5 and was wondering if there is anything I can do to get it working. Another issue im having is since upgrading to 10.5.5 My videocard (nvidia 8600M GT) lost QE support, any way of getting it back? Thanks ----------- comp specs ------------- Inspiron 1520 Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 @ 2.2 ghz Nvidia 8600M GT video card 2 gigs of ram Sigmatel 9205 sound card Broadcom 440x ethernet driver
9. iATKOS 10.5.4 DVD release

I got a quick question. I can install this fine, but was wondering can I run the mac updates to install 10.5.5? I'm running on a dell inspiron 1520 core 2 duo under the customize options i only have iATKOS v4i Main System, Darwin Bootloader, and in the driver section: Broadcom 440x, Nvidia Laptop, and SATA checked on do I need to put a checkmark on Kernal 9.4.0 and AppleACPIPlatform.kext or should it just work with the options I have selected thanks.
10. Dual Boot Dell 1520 iATKOS & XP

has anyone got the wifi to work with this? i have the dell wireless 1490 dual band WLAN Mini-Card but havn't heard of anyone talk about it
11. Hi there, new to the forums and had a few questions. Ive tried searching for as much of this info as I could, but if I missed something please direct me to the page. Okay, so I have a dell inspiron 1520 it comes with a nvidia 8600M GT vid card 512mb ram, 2gig ram, 150 gig hd for my wireless connection im using a dlink range booster (DWA-142) its a usb adapter. 1) Ive been reading through the forums about the nvidia drivers .. and I read something that if you had a 512mb vid card that it wouldn't work? also I tried searching for nvidia 8600M gt drivers but didn't find anything, so if I just overlooked somewhere please direct me to the link. 2) I havn't found any dlink drivers on this site so if there isn't any for my wireless adapter, is there any drivers for the built in one (dell 1490 dual band wlan mini card) again i searched for it and didn't find anything 3) I guess the last question I had is about dual booting, im using acronis, have my harddrive partioned into the 2 one for xp and one for mac os x, does the OS selecter work with the new versions (im using iatkos v4i). I saw a video of someone showing step by step how to make it work with v1.0 so just want to be sure it will work with these newer versions) Thanks in advance.
