Try this: http://deviato.wordpress.com/ Download the AppleHDA 1.9.9f12 driver. It's working for me.
  2. Dell Inspiron 1545 Audio 10.6.6 Problems

Go here: http://deviato.wordpress.com/ Download the AppleHDA 1.9.9f12 driver. It's working for me.
  3. Need help with Inspiron 1545

Try the way I did mine: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...870&hl=1545 I used the 10.6 retail install disc and then updated to 10.6.6 combo. Good luck.
  4. DELL Inspiron 1545 Issues

I did a complete reinstall and it still beach balls. Check here for my install: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...870&hl=1545 That's quite alright. We're all noobs at one time or another. Welcome.
  5. Apple Graphic Card on Hackintosh?

I've used my 8800GT from my Mac Pro in my Hackintosh and it works just fine. I had Zotac in before but it would not sleep correctly and when I put my 8800GT in, after a 5770 upgrade, sleep worked fine. Just make sure you upgrade to at least 10.6.4 because that's when the 5770 is supported. The 5770 won't work if you're going to use it in a PC and load windows.
  6. DELL Inspiron 1545 Issues

I've successfully installed vanilla Snow Leopard on my Inspiron 1545 and updated it to 10.6.6. I'm having troubles with Safari and the spinning beach ball. Everytime I go to another page when I launch Safari, I get the beach ball and have to force quit. I've tried making it open in 32-bit mode and making it open in Rosetta but with no luck. I've also used Chrome and get the same results. Firefox seems to work with no troubles at all. Does anyone have other suggestions? I'd also like to add a time delay when Chameleon 2 boots. Currently when I power it on, I have the choice of OS X to boot and it waits for an input from the user. I'd like to have it wait 10 seconds then automatically boot to OS X. I've read about the apple.boot.plist but I tried that and it didn't work. I remember when I hacked my MSIWind that I gave it a delay but I forgot how. 7. Wireless on Inspiron 1545 not working

If you read my post: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...870&hl=1545 my wireless worked then didn't when I installed the kexts. When I upgraded to 10.6.5, the wireless came back. Of course I downloaded the 10.6.5 Combo first. I just reinstalled to 10.6.6 Combo and that works as well. Doing software update as I write this. Good Luck!
  8. Questions before setting up my Hackintosh

    1) I haven't experienced a PCI card but if you found one that is Mac compatible, I don't see why it wouldn't work. 2) I got the one from Monoprice.com that works in my Hack. 3) I would always wait on system updates. You never know what lurks in them. All other updates I just apply. 4) Always check to make sure someone has been successful with theirs. Get more than one success story. 5) Make sure you have the latest boot loader. I read that early versions of Chameleon had problems with hard drives larger than 1TB. Good Luck!
  9. So it took me a couple of tries and now I have a working Dell 1545 Hackintosh running 10.6.5. I found out a couple of things as well. These are my specs: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.1 Mhz T4300 4GB RAM 320GB HD Intel 4500HD Integrated Graphics Dell DW1515 WLAN mini-card I followed eggmcmuffin’s tutorial, post 339. Here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=203728 At first but things weren’t working out so I improvised a bit. Here’s basically what I did: SL Boot 132 CD SL Install DVD Disk Utility | Erase Custom Install | System | Additional Fonts | Rosetta Kext Utility Application Chameleon 2 RC3 WiFi worked Install Part 1 | Reboot [Didn't install Trackpad.pref] WiFi doesn't work [i didn’t install Part 2 because they didn’t work for me. I tried them twice before giving up] Install Part 3 | Reboot Install 10.6.5 Combo Update | Reboot [i had downloaded the update earlier. Since I didn’t install the sleepenable.kext, there was no kernel panic and I didn’t have to play with Terminal.] WiFi works! [At first I thought that I was going to have to get a new WiFi card but luckily it worked when I applied the 10.6.5 update] Install Trackpad.prefPane on SL boot132 CD/DVD Deviato AppHDA 1.9.9f12 (10.6.5) [The audio does kind of pop at times. Will look into it] Ran Software Update I’m going to wait on 10.6.6 until I back this up or find more success stories. Sleep does not work. (Updated: Sleep works but the screen does not turn off until I close the lid.) I will look into that as well but I’m very happy with the results. It’s pretty much an Vanilla install with a touch of kext adjustments. It’s the most of my other hacks though but this was just a unused notebook gathering dust. I do want to add a time delay for Chameleon. I don’t always want to press a key to boot. I want it to wait about 10 seconds and then automatically boot into OS X. I’ll look around for the solution. I remember doing it for my MSI Wind and I think my G4 Hack does it as well. I haven’t booted that in a while now. Safari seems to always be crashing as well as Chrome. Firefox seems to work okay. I’m going to reinstall again and see how it goes.
  10. Introduce yourself.

Been here awhile but haven't posted. This forum has been invaluable. I've done three Hackintosh's already and helped a friend do his. Great stuff. Thanks.
