  1. The hard drive on my nephews 2008 macbook died so I replaced it. Unfortunately he lost his osx disk. In a pinch I used a disk I used for my hacintosh. Leo 10.5.8. After several attempts I finally got it installed. Everything works except it will not wake from sleep. Tried fixing permissions. Tried changing sleep mode in terminal to 3, 7, 25. Tried turning off dim screen before sleep. Tried using several hiberate aps. Created a new user. Nothing seems to fix the problem. Will not turn on after it goes to sleep. Must do an smc reset then works fine. Do you have any suggestions. I checked the apple forums but their solutions are always to take it to the genius bar.

[How To] GMA900 with QE and CI support on Leopard.

I gained the ability to change resolutions and also QI/CI. I lost laptop monitor support....have to boot with -s to see anything. I am not seeing artifacts but don't see the non-thumbnail images in iphoto. I followed these instructions from Andy4Life (thanks andy). Any suggestions? Download the following Kext files from: GMA 900 Kext files 1. Backup all your AppleIntel equivalents in your /system/library/extensions folder 2. Copy these new ones over to that same directory (/system/library/extensions) 3. After you copy these across you may recieve a few errors from OSX saying it couldn't load blah blah, hit ok and ignore them 3. Pull up a terminal window and type the following: CODEsudo su <password> 1. cd / 2. cd /system/library/extensions/ 3. chmod -R 755 AppleIntelGMA950.kext 4. chown -R root:wheel AppleIntelGMA950.kext 5. chmod -R 755 AppleIntelIntegratedframeBuffer.kext 6. chown -R root:wheel AppleIntelIntegratedframeBuffer.kext After doing so open up finder and navigate to /system/library/extensions and delete the extensions.mkext (drag it to your trash).
  3. I would love to give this a try. I want to see my nephews face when I open my hp laptop with mac os. Please send link to boot cd.
