  1. Thanks babe, I think you've got me out of a tight spot (although it's now hanging at a grey apple even booting in verbose what) nevermind it was a journal issue
  2. I get the feeling I've made a moumental cockup somewhere, but here goes: I updated from 10.8.2 to 10.8.3 using Combo, making sure to move AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext out as suggested by immo here before rebooting. It did come with an interesting side effect, though, with a lovely [ PCI configuration begin ] hang and a stuck pinwheel. I've tried all the tips that google can provide, like graphicsenabler=no, npci=0x2000, and PCIRootUID=1 with no avail. Any ideas? I can't even boot into single-user mode as it's hanging way before then. Did I just forget to recopy some kexts or something?
  3. Your guide worked a treat, thanks! Only problem I'm having now is with sleep, even with darkwake=0 the system sleeps fine but doesn't wake back up (just blankscreens). Any debug information I can peruse to work out the issue?
  4. I seem to be having a similar issue to ruslan's getting Mountain Lion installation going (hanging in the same place just before the GUI should start), but for some strange reason my M1530 doesn't even seem to want to take downgrading the USB drive's S/L/E AppleACPIPlatform / IOPCIFamily as an answer. Immo, could you quickly run through how you got your ML installer working with your M1330? I'm using the basis of this (rather pooly worded) guide but there must be a better, cleaner way of doing it without using Uni and then fiddling with that.
  5. [Guide] Install OSX Lion Dell XPS m1530

    Is there a new URL for the latest chameleon .pkg? The link in the OP (http://builds.voodoo...uilds/Xcode4.1/) just throws a 404 error, and I'm having to use the USB stick to boot. After using this chameleon (2.1svn-r1768), I can't get the onboard keyboard or trackpad to work at all with ApplePS2Controller.kext in both /extra/extensions and /system/library/extensions (and yes, I've used kext utility). Other than that, the guide worked great (except freezing during installation, which just needed lots of attempts with speedstep / wifi / BT off and plenty of ventilation, and a good pinch of luck)
  6. AMD and Retail Snow Leopard 10.6.5 --> 10.6.8 Final[GUIDE]

    Already have (DVD on SATA1, HDD on SATA2), still no effect. EDIT: Working now
  7. AMD and Retail Snow Leopard 10.6.5 --> 10.6.8 Final[GUIDE]

    Managed to get to boot with the first disc (ATINForce) (by using my old 7600GT), throws me a kernelpanic when I try to install though (even with one stick of RAM). BootCD0.6 just throws me into the root device loop. EDIT: Now seem to be booting using Full-IDE mode, will update EDIT2: Booted great, but can't see the HDD. Still fiddling.
  8. AMD and Retail Snow Leopard 10.6.5 --> 10.6.8 Final[GUIDE]

    Hey peeps, I must be doing something wrong here I've got a copy of Snow Leopard Retail that I'm trying to install on my machine (specs over at http://luaduck.co.uk/pages.php?id=specs), but I'm not having much luck. BIOS setup is AHCI + Port 4/5 IDE (my DVD drive doesn't support AHCI booting, attempting to just throws me to the HDD boot) On the first boot CD, I just get to the middle of nowhere (freezes just after DSMOS / ethernet arrives). On BootCD 0.5, I just get stuck waiting for root device. Any ideas? (GA-MA770T-UD3P mobo if you're too lazy to click the link above)
  9. ALC888 100% in Snow Leopard x64

    Hey peeps, audio is pretty much the only problem I have right now: I'm on 10.6 with the Test7 AMD kernel, and AppleHDA refuses to load at runtime. Here's the log: Any ideas? Mobo is a Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3P.
  10. Snow Leopard on Inspiron 530

    Tried -x -v -s, I get to single-user but just stumble on the same error. This is the only HDD big enough to support this, so do you think I should try boot-132-Mars (and if so, with which files)? Thanks for the help BTW
  11. Snow Leopard on Inspiron 530

    I'm getting that error while booting from the install USBHDD, I can't even get to a GUI.
  12. Snow Leopard on Inspiron 530

    Hey guys Trying to install SL on a 530 here, but keep stumbling into a fault on weeze's guide - namely the ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin:start-waitForService (resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement)) timed out error. I've tried pretty much everything, so has anyone got a solution? 2600XT user.
  13. Installing on Dell Inspiron 530

    Hey I'm going for a Boot132 based system for my 530, and I'm using melon-man's custom Boot-132 spin to boot. I'm using kernel parameters -v (durr) and -f (fixing Root Device issue) to boot, and all goes well, until it tries to boot a GUI, when I just get a corrupted video output (essentially a freeze). I'm using an ATi Radeon 600XT - do I need to spin a custom 132 with the 2600XT drivers on there, or is it a known issue? My setup: 1x1tb SATA HDD (SATA0) 1xDVDRW drive (SATA) 1xMaxtor Basics 250gb (USB) (installing here) My eventual aim is to install Chameleon2 RC1 on the USB drive and boot from that (yes, I know I'll need the USB drive plugged in to boot). Does anything look wrong with that setup? Thanks
