    Another Mac In The House

I already have several Macs, a Dual 800MHz G4, 2.33GHz 15" MacBook Pro and a 1.2GHz 14" iBook. I decided to turn the lone PC into a 4th Mac. I got the uphuck 1.3 release, and basically went away on my own. So far everything works including QE/CI and sound. Intel Pentium D 930 (3.0GHz) 2GB DDR2 667 Nvidia 7900GTX 512MB ASUS P5WD2 Premium I am so excited, the only thing I'm missing is the sleep function, but I think I can do without. Widescreen and CoreImage work perfectly on the 7900GTX which blew me away a bit. I can't wait to have some more fun with this. Thanks so much!

The Mac Mini x64 Driver Hunt.

You're going to have to wait for Leopard. Mac Pro Tiger is the same as everyone elses Tiger. Basically, you have PAE. Leopard is where you'll see the speed increases.
  4. Mac Digg users don't want OS X to be Windows. If you want Windows XP, use Windows XP with a Mac skin.
  5. Woodcrest is Xeon. Anyways, the processor is BGA, and to desolder a Yonah, cut the pins off a Merom, and solder the Merom on isn't worth the >10 percent speed increase. IMO of course. I'll be getting a MacBook Pro though.

    Classic?

It'll still install on a PPC mac afaik, but it's 99.5 percent dead.

    OS X Annoyances

Thank you. I was about to say that in a less kind manner. I've been a user since OS 8.5. Windows makes me want to punch babies. But when I use it, I take it for what it is, and I don't try and make it into OS X.

    Windows Vista

The only way to assure that OS X ran Windows binaries natively would be to use the Windows source code. Anyone here crazy enough to think that there's a chance in hell for that?
  9. Timbuk2 has some really nice bags. I have one for my iBook.

    New 2007 iMac picture

That's a pretty old mockup iirc. Very nice looking though. Edit: w/ an iSight slapped on top.

    Mash's RAM Problems

I never order my RAM for Macs from anyone other then Crucial. They're just to weird about RAM, and it's not something I want to mess with by getting crappy RAM.
  12. I'm really sorry, a firmware update seems to have corrected the problems. I've heard awful things about the single 1.8GHz G5s. On that note, nice purchase. http://www.macnn.com/articles/05/11/16/app...s.uni.proc.g5s/
  13. It was a wonderful first post.
  14. Mash: I'd love to congratulate you on the G5 purchase, but it was a terrible machine. There was some problem with the motherboard that Apple never repaired. That's why it went so cheap.
