  1. El Capitan: Realtek ALC AppleHDA Audio

I'm having a issue were when I reboot it always changes to Headphone out instead of Optical. I only use optical and want it to stay on optical on every boot. This issue was not present through Yosemite and El Capitan and Sierra for years. Now its a issue. I think it happen when I had connected a DAC that I returned. I think it tries to use that DAC then can't find it goes to headphone as default. I don't know if that is the case really though. But is there a way to reset the default device on boot?
  2. Thanks for the detailed response. now I understand why build versions are in the patch. I'm still not sure what route I should take if I'm already booting and only want to clone the NVMe drive. Should I patch and delete it from s/l/e and add it to clover or will the patch work in config only with vanilla nvme in s/l/e?
  3. build 16B2657 is not a beta. That is what I got stuck with from mac app store. I haven't updated since Yosemite. Because 10.11 wouldn't work with monitor overclocks. So far sierra works but anyways I'm stuck with build version 16B2657 and you mentioned at one post you had to add build version (on post 421) to your patch so I asked does they 2.4 beta2 patch work with build 16B2657. I'm a bit confused where to start. I have Sierra updated and running fine for past week on a SATA SSD. My NVMe slot is disabled on my RIVE so I can boot. I wipe the Samsung 950 pro when I get NVMe working, then cloning this sata SSD install. What is best route to keep patched nvme kext in clover or patch the vanilla driver each update. All the tutorials start with installing on a NVMe. I don't need to install just need to boot without panic then clone the drive.
  4. Bootscreen, Nvidia G-Sync

I don't have a answer to your issue. Your the only person I can find that as even tried Gsync with OSX.
  5. There is a new build version of 16B2657. Will Beta 2 version work for this build?
  6. I was able to update webdriver with patch above. I'm on 16B2657. Surprisingly I was able to overclock my Catleap monitor to 120hz without iokit patch. I don't know why. My issue is it doesn't seem like GPU is going to 2D clocks even at 60hz. Its not down clocking when idle. Anyone have any ideas anything I should be checking its a GTX 770.
  7. Thanks for updated patch haven't tested it yet but wanted to make sure this was available before updating.
  8. El Capitan: Realtek ALC AppleHDA Audio

Oh well I bought a Optical Splitter instead. Maybe that will work for what I'm trying to achieve.
  9. El Capitan: Realtek ALC AppleHDA Audio

I spent a few hours on this and lost. Anyway to download these files prefilled?
  10. El Capitan: Realtek ALC AppleHDA Audio

Just realized I have no idea what I'm doing. Once it came to editing platform.xml. I was able to extract it eventually but when I opened it I had 66 lines of items and several NodeID for each and none of them match the example of Item 0/NodeID/Number/30 and Item 1/NodeID/Number/6.
  11. El Capitan: Realtek ALC AppleHDA Audio

My goal is actually to have both SPIDIF header and optical out on the back of motherboard. I want to use both and switch between them. I don't need any of the lineouts. Can I replace one of those instead?
  12. El Capitan: Realtek ALC AppleHDA Audio

I want to enable the internal SPIDIF header on my RIVE that has ALC 898. I'm using "Audio ID 1". Can I simple try different Audio ID's to see if that works? Do I have to rerun the patch to change ID or can I just change it in the .config file?
  13. I own a catleap monitor that is capable of 1440p @ 100hz. With 10.10 I was able to set 100hz with switchresx. With 10.11 it is not working. Is there anyway to inject a refresh rate into the EDID. I believe it should be possible. For example a 144hz. display works fine in OS X when the monitor is sending correct EDID. My monitor does not have a EDID for 100hz. Its more of a monitor overclock. I'm just seeing if EDID is way to go if so it would be much easier having one EDID for all my installs rather than using a switchresx.
  14. OS X Compatible Motherboard

Z77 this is silly, why do this?
  15. Clover General discussion

    Thanks for the replies 0x28 and 0x40 both seem to have no effect on the background boot color. I have it under RtVariables. <dict> <key>BooterConfig</key> <string>0x28</string> <key>LogEveryBoot</key> <string>10</string> <key>LogLineCount</key> <integer>3000</integer> <key>MLB</key> <string>erased</string> <key>MountEFI</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>ROM</key> <string>erased</string> </dict> </plist>
