  1. I've been having the same issue. The reason why you can't convert the DMG to an IMG is tricky. From what I've discovered it's that the InstallESD.dmg is not actually a dmg file. It's somekind of archive file format (Xar - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xar_(archiver)). If you open the InstallESD.dmg using 7-zip you can actually browse into it. Steps for getting the DMG: 1) Open your InstallESD.dmg using 7-zip file manager (I think winrar doesn't support Xars) 2) Go into the InstallMacOSX.pkg folder 3) Extract the "InstallESD.dmg" (File has the same name but NOT the same hash ) 4) Now you have a valid dmg file Now there's one thing I'm not sure about all this. It may be a valid dmg image file but I don't know if a valid (as in: contains everything) Lion disc image. Hope it helped!
  2. I hope I'm in the right place. Now what I'm trying to do here is to find a way to install OS X 10.6 on my disk that already has an installed Windows 7 and Windows XP. I've already set up all my partitions so that I could have my 4 OSes (Linux (Ubuntu), Win7, WinXP, OSX). From my limited understanding, I get that there are additional steps required to do an install of OSX on an MBR disk. My problem is that the guides that I've found usually implies installing SL before Win7/WinXP. Helping me can be simply pointing me where I can find the right information. So if someone could help me out I'd really appreciate it. Thanks PS: I currently have 2 external drives empty, one of 320GB and another of 500GB. The disk with all my OS installation is a 640GB
