  1. Does Skype and other camera applications display a black screen upon plugging in the said camera?

Yosemite: Audio - Realtek ALC AppleHDA

From what I heard changing the SMBIOS to MacPro3,1 does the trick. Tried it, and it seems to work, though I do need to test it even more.

Yosemite: Audio - Realtek ALC AppleHDA

Noted. Audio does work with the HDAEnabler kext as described in your original post, but I so wanted to try out what Ermac suggested. I can try out DSDT or moving to Clover, but it's been a looooooong time since I did a DSDT patch, and it would be great if someone can show me the ropes with it. Also, is there a fix for loud pops which I hear on occasion especially if the audio device has been idle for a long time and you just played a sound on it?
  4. Been struggling with getting my webcams to work on OS X for the past few years. I have this generic USB 2.0 cam which works OOB on Windows and Ubuntu, but while OS X recognises the device, I only get a black screen in any application. The device ID's 1e4e:0103 - a quick search turns out that the device, or the sensor that is, is a UVC sensor by Etron Technology, Inc. I've read a thread by AnV which refers to a kext that allows generic UVCs to be recognised as an iSight - would that kext solve things or do I need to do something else, save for buying a new camera?

Yosemite: Audio - Realtek ALC AppleHDA

I already did that to no avail.
  6. For the umpteenth time, let me remind you guys that InsanelyMac does not and WILL NOT support TonyMacx86 tools.

Yosemite: Audio - Realtek ALC AppleHDA

Hmm, I'm using the latest Chameleon bootloader, r2437 to be exact, but I couldn't seem to get the built-in HDA enabler to work. I used HDAEnabler=Yes and HDEFLayoutID=01000000 on org.chameleon.boot.plist, and while it's apparently activated, I don't see any trace of the layout ID in IORegExplorer, so I'm unable to use Piker-Alpha's scripted helper method. I can just get away with your HDAEnabler1.kext, but Ermac mentioned in a thread that it isn't necessary when Chameleon has one built in already.

    Chameleon 2.4 svn

I turned on HDA Enabler on my rig and used HDEFLayoutID=01000000, but for some reason it doesn't seem to work when I tried using Piker-Alpha's HDA kext, nor did it show up on IORegistryExplorer. I'm trying to make the internal HDA module in Cham work since you mentioned on Chris' Yosemite thread that I should just ditch Toleda's kext and use the embedded one instead.
  9. Looks 'swell, but I have two questions though: If I substitute Clover with the latest Chameleon build, will it still work? Also, if I have a pre-existing Clover install on an oldschool BIOS rig, would I be able to pull off an Apple Store upgrade to Yosemite?
  10. Has anyone managed to get this kext to work on an RT5360? Or is that significantly different from those supported by this kext (besides being that the one I mentioned ran off the PCI bus)?

The OSx86 Community - Past, Present and Future

Besides that he once admitted to have browsed and watched pirated TV shows on YouTube, perhaps prior to the Viacom fiasco back in the mid to late 2000s. Agreed. The kiddies you mentioned sorta reminds me of those, not that I'm being racist or anything, South Asian teens on GTAForums who would post modpack submissions consisting of stuff stolen from other authors with little to no effort whatsoever, and had the balls to beg the higher-ups for them to do the modelling/texture/whatever work for them. I kept on telling the mods to make the submission guidelines a bit stricter, partly so they would gain some experience and for them to at least have a grasp of what they're trying to do. I would be more than welcome to teach them about rigging peds in GTA, or in the case of our community, get their hacks to boot and run, but they better not be so gung-ho either and rely on distros and stuff like Tony's Beast thingys without knowing what a kext is, or how things work on OS X.

Same in my case, and yet I gained experience with how to mess things around and come up with a working Hack, and by extension, getting to know which goes where, how OS X handles things, etc.

    [Guide] SurfacePro 1 & 2 Osx-Android-Windows multiboot

Lol this is how the iPad should've been, not some underpowered, oversized iPod Touch.
  14. Any chance for this card/chipset to be supported on Mavericks/Yosemite? I know I should've used a supported card/external adapter, but I'd be more than glad to see this being made to work on OS X. It's a long shot or a pipe dream, but I'm sure it can be done as I've seen similar open-source drivers for Ralink/Mediatek WLAN cards on *nix.

OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 Officially Released

Update worked on my end without a hitch, other than having to paste my old AppleHDA kext to S/L/E for audio to work again.

    OS X Yosemite DP's builds!

Hmm, maybe I was too late on the game, tried signing up for the programme but I didn't get any DL links from Apple.

    E.T - Errors

I'm more than pissed and annoyed over their numerous ads littering the place whenever I browse on my Android. And if that's not enough, they would occasionally do a drive-by download of their .APK.

    E.T - Errors

Not to mention the swath of spamware like Mobogenie, which resorted to aggressive marketing strategies i.e. drive-by downloads and rootkits on the PC client.

History repeated itself somewhat when Nintendo relaxed their licensing restrictions on the Wii, which explains the influx of low-quality, bottom of the barrel software.

Works 'swell on my end, other than reinstalling AppleHDA.

    iAtkos Reality

As much as I respect uphuck for coming up with the distro, I'm afraid you're right, which is why I decided to stop using distros and go for retail.

Petition: Release Mac OS X for PC

Exactly, as that's their business model. They won't mind giving away OS X for free as long as they have rigs to sell. Microsoft does market hardware, but they're mostly a different ball game.

    Hello, MS-Android. Good-bye, Windows Phone

Inb4 root lol. Seriously though, I'm sure the lads and lasses at XDA would come up with a hack or two for the Snapdragon-powered device - even Nokia themselves hinted at the possibility from what I've read, besides allowing users to fire up ADB and shove in an APK or two to their Nokia X's.

    Mavericks 10.9.2 released

Works 'swell on my end, other than the usual AppleHDA reinstall, i.e. backing up and reinstalling the old working kext.
