  1. First of all, Fabio, I wanted to thank you for your continued efforts. I've always used your advice and dsdt's ever since my first hackintosh. I've setup 10.5, 10.6, and now 10.8 thanks to you. =) I'm having a post-install issue and I'm sorry for posting it here, but I have a feeling it is hardware specific issue and I feel this thread is most knowledgeable about my hardware. I'm having an issue with waking up from sleep on my ASUS P6T Deluxe. I started a thread here detailing the issue here: ######## For anyone that doesn't want to read that post, the problem is this: Case/CPU fans spin up. Video card fans spin up. Hard drive comes up (I have a loud velociraptor) No video on either of dual monitors Computer just sits there, no reboot So after coming across this post, I decided to do my Mountain Lion install again. After doing the install again using Mountain Lionize from this thread, I only installed 1 extra kext: Fake_SMC. End result: I still have the same issue! Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. =)
  2. Haha, hello again tot =p I'll try that and let you know. Thanks
  3. Hmm, I saw a few Lion posts in this thread. Can you tell me which one you followed? The only think I'm having trouble with is wake from sleep. I just made this post about my issue in detail, if you have time to look =). http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=281550 Thanks.
  4. Ok, I think I have everything working except for wake from sleep (which works on my SL install). I can put the computer to sleep, but when I bring it up from sleep using mouse, keyboard or power button, the following happens: Case/CPU fans spin up. Video card fans spin up. Hard drive comes up (I have a loud velociraptor) No video on either of dual monitors Computer just sits there, no reboot I also have VNC/screen share setup and I tested it works before sleep. After wake, I cannot VNC in, so it is not just video that's not workin. Here are the things I've attempted (not together, I would undo one attempt before trying the next): ####### ####### CMOS Patch Manually (CMOS Resets by AppleRTC.kext - insanely-mac Forum) I saw improvement with the CMOS Patch manually (I used to get the CMOS resets before doing this patch). I have what seems to be a proper working DSDT.aml that I patched using a DSDT Editor and a patch for my motherboard at olarila.com. I'm also using an SSDT.aml installed by ######. I have a very minimal kext list, trying to keep it as vanilla as possible. I had to modify IONetworkingFamily.kext to make my onboard NIC's work. I installed a patched version of 10.6's AppleHDA.kext to get my sound working. I have the following in my E/E: AHCI_3rdParty_SATA.kext FakeSMC.kext (I had the rolled back v1.3.5 AppleACPIPlatform.kext to cut back on the boot delay, but I don't see the boot delay without it, so I removed it and reinstalled the original 1.6 kext in S/L/E) my org.chameleon.Boot.plist: <key>Default Partition</key> <string>hd(0,2)</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>y</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1920x1200x32</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>darkwake=0 -v arch=x86_64</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>2</string> <key>RestartFix</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> smbios.plist has imac 12,2 set at the moment, but I've tried macpro 3,1 & 4,1. I have a clean boot, I can't see anything wrong with it. Again, when I wake, I don't see kernel panics. Just this hang... Any help would be much appreciated =) Please let me know if there is anymore info I can provide.
  5. I'm also looking for the latest DSDT. Can anyone help provide it? Anyone who might have downloaded it before? Also, does anyone know if that latest DSDT works on ML? Thanks
  6. I can't thank everyone enough. I've had my 10.5.7 vanilla install for months. It's been stable as a rock, but I've been too scared to upgrade. I can't believe I got everything working and more (sleep, mute) within hours (including time machine restore!). Greed is man's weakness though. I want more! o.O The last thing that isn't fully working is 5.1 audio. This is the one thing that is far more complicated to setup on mac than it is on windows (or so it seems). Anyway, I've read a few tutorials around on how to use Audio Midi Setup to get 5.1 channel sound working, but I haven't shared the same success. I noticed that two of the output lines are called 'Built-in Line Output'. The center/sub channel and the rear channels seem to share that same name. Could this be messing stuff up for us? I can't seem to set the rear channels and have them work properly with actual content. Not to mention the keyboard volume limitations. Anyway, was wondering if anyone here has had any success stories. Thanks all =) Edit: I'm one of those that has sleep working but only if I set it manually or by schedule. It doesn't seem to work for idle time. I've tried setting it to 1min, 2mins, 10mins. Any ideas?
  7. Yes I've just now noticed this timing issue as well. It's throwing off my clock =(. About to try to go back to the voodoo kernel to see if it will fix the issue for now.
  8. Ok, got it fixed.... I had a <key>'Graphics Mode'</key> in my com.apple.boot.plist for the gtx260...I guess my ati card didn't like that, once I took it out...everything is perfect, even audio...now to install xnu, vmware, and try my vpn software again (it had crapped out earlier =p).
  9. Ok, some new issues, heh. So i gave in and got an ati 3870 to replace my gtx260 for now. Now I'm getting this when I boot up through EFI: Any ideas? It doesn't come up if boot up with -x. I rebuilt my dsdt file and put it in the EFI disk, still no luck. Installed drivers for the 3870 from http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=107526 still no change. I'm getting mutlimonitor support under safe mode even, so that makes me very happy...but still irking me that i'm in safe mode. Update: aaaand I just noticed I don't have audio =(. But that just might be due to the fact I'm in safe mode, so i won't fret yet.
  10. Ah, thank you joker..that did it. Well almost but not exactly. What you suggested helped...but it would not work until I copied the AppleYukon2.kext (the one who's Info.plist you told me to modify) to my desktop and used the osx86 tools to install it. For some reason, like lurscher, my IONetworking kext isn't getting referenced or whatever. Anyway...hope this helps others who were clueless about this issue as well. Thanks again all. still curious about the video card issue but I'll post on video card thread about it.
  11. First of all, amazing work guys. MJ first of course, but thanks to a lot of the posters that provided info as well. I followed the thread from beg to end, I have a nearly working system up but I still can't get my LAN working. I couldn't follow exactly which driver lurscher used. Can you spell it out for the newbie? lol sorry. I tried AppleYukon2, LegacyAppleYukon2, Yukon2 (from the auto installer in the osx86 tools)...nothing seems to work. I installed an older realtek card for now but I really want gigabit on this machine. I'm using a P6T asus deluxe and a i7 920 with 3GB of RAM. The only thing out of spec is my EVGA 260 =(. Which i know I've heard plenty of people saying its not supported, but is there anything I can do to get better support for it? more than the bare minumum? I admit I'm pushing the default drivers cause I've got my resolution set to 1920x1200 with the com.apple.boot.plist...but sometimes when I scroll, or move a window...stuff starts overlapping each other. (picture of when I move a textedit window). When I resize, or minimize then un minimize a window, its fine after that. I don't know much about QC/QE or QE/QI stuff, whatever it is called..but will that help me? will GFX strings help me? I've tried to do my research...but all I ended up with was more options than guidance. Anyway....any help with the LAN would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, I absolutely LOVE this machine now =D. oh and not to get greedy or anything, but anyone tried to get 'sleep' working? haha
  12. Thank you so much for this. My SATA is now picked up, Profiler works, boot time is MUCH faster, and everything else is nifty. I have a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L. Just letting you know that the sound drivers ALC888/889 did not work. I looked into the thread that you linked a few pages back regarding sound drivers. Apparently, after reading the thread, the ALC888 driver found there does not have the device id needed for this board. Aside from the sound thing - which can be easily addressed via peripheral external sound cards - everything else is working fine. I wish this addressed gfx cards also =) I have an 8800GT that needs some Hackintosh love. There IS a small issue, but I don't know if it's actually a problem or if it's Profiler just being dumb. I have a Q6600. Profiler only shows 1 core, however, when I go to Activity Monitor -> CPU, it shows 4 black rectangles (1 for each core) and shows activity on each (under CPU usage). I'm not technical enough to know if this issue is related to the drivers that your tool here addresses. If this part is off-topic, I apologize. Thanks again!
  13. Hi, I'm running 10.5.4 and most things work. My motherboard is a Gigabyte ga-p35-ds3l w/ P35/ICH9 chipsets. I have 2 SATA HD's hooked up to the top ports and both are picked up fine. The bottom set of ports don't work - I have a DVD burner attached to one of them, and it's not picked up. I have AHCI disabled. If I enable it, the system freezes on boot. How do I get all 4 ports working? Any insight will be much appreciated. Also: I apologize if this is a repeat topic - I searched for a long time and went through many long threads. Most discussed things having to do with 10.5.(2 and 3). Thank you for your time, AC
  14. ALC88x 10.4.8 Kext

Hi, Tried ALC888 and Azalia on Gigabyte ga-p35-ds3l - didn't work. Both installed and asked for restart, but there is "no audio device found". Would like some insight please.
