  1. Hi Komodo_1, Nice too read you again ^^, how are you? So: 1. Use DSDT Auto-Patcher to create the DSDT, put it in Extra. 2. Use IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector to solve the Orange HD Icons. 3. If you use NVIDIA 8XXX/9XXX series, remove AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext form S/L/E or just backup it (For some strange mouse lag behaviors) and use <key>GraphicsEnabler</key><string>Yes</string> in the com.apple.Boot.plist AUDIO (I use the normal audio, not 5,1 - maybe you could try) Just put ALC885_889a.kext in E/E and then foliow the instructions inside the Readme file. ALC889a -> ALC889a.zip That's all. Let me know if you have any problems. D.
  2. I'm on Lion OSX with EP45C-DS3R. Everything work fine. Just follow the kakewalk instructions by choosing "EP45-DS3L" form the menu of Kakewalk. Cheers. Then let me know for DSDT and Audio problem and I'll try to help.
  3. Hi mrjanek! Congrats for Kakewalk 4!! Is there any chance to use it for a GA-EP45C-DS3R Mobo Retail Lion Installation? Please Let me know! Bye!
  4. Dropbox Kernel Panic

Hi makwanad, If when you put the password on start up to let dropbox run you get a kernel panic, try this. - Go into /Applications/Dropbox.app/Resources and try to remove FindeLoadCM - Empty the trash - Reboot - Type your password when dropbox asks to you. Let me know if this will help. Take care, Dam.
  5. security update 2010-003

Everything ok on my configuration: AMD Athlon X2. A8N-SLI DELUXE RETAIL (VOODOO KERNEL) 10.5.8 Enjoy.
  6. Working: Wacom Cintiq 12WX

I love you man.. I'm going to buy the 21ux.. hope it works too..
  7. Ok Dan, thanks for advice! Anyway I'm happy to hear that you Solved. How did you get workin audio with OSX86Tools? Coz for me it didn't work. Tell me more if you can. See u soon / ci vediamo presto! ;D Dam
  8. Hi Komodo, sorry for late reply.. Try this: have you set on Bios the audio on? If yes try this way: Place the kext of this guide in extra so reboot with -f -v the first time.. then reboot again in the normal way. Let me know if it works. EDIT: If still doesn't work. Remove all Audio kext from Extra and copy the file attached at the end of this post. Also here reboot with -f -v the first time.. then reboot again in the normal way. (This solved also the "Pop" when sound wakes up from sleep.) Let me know Dam ___________________________________________________ EP54C_Audio.zip

  10. Hi all! After a lot of searching and attemps I've finally got my Leopard Retail 10.5.6 works on GA-EP45C-DS3R by my own. I want to share everything I got wit you coz some people asked to me an help. That's my Specs: CPU Intel Q8200 2.33 GHz MOBO Gigabyte GA-EP-45C-DS3R(Rev.1) [F5 Bios] HD 2x Maxtor 500Gb STM3500323AS (SATA) RAM 2x Ocz 2Gb 1066Mhz GRAPHIC CARD Captiva 8800GT 1Gb DDR3 DVD RW Pioneer DVR-216D (SATA) _________________________________________________________ Status of my System right now: - Ethernet x2: OK! - Sound: OK! (Except front Headphone - I'm workin' on it) - QE/CI: OK! (Captiva 8800GT Dual DVI 1Gb) - Restart / Shutdown / Sleep: OK! Ok! Now I'm goin' to explain my procedure *I'm not responsable about any damage to your Hardware, you'll doing this at your own risk. What we need: - Original Disc of Apple Mac OS X Leopard 10.5 Here; - Apple Leopard Combo Update 10.5.6 Here; - The Grub-DFE iso image for boot Here; - PCEFI v9 Installer Here - DSDTPatcherGUI for DSDT patch (Not sure if we really need of it ...) Here; - OSX86Tools for Graphic Cards Supported Here; - MKext for Gigabyte EP-45C-DS3R Here - USB Pendrive 512Mb at least (For post installation); Let's do it: STEP 1 Copy all files downloaded to the pendrive (Except for Grub-dfe.iso); STEP 2 Burn grub-Dfe.iso on a DVD-ROM / CD-ROM; STEP 3 Update the EP-45C-DS3R mobo to F5 bios version with QFlash Support of Gigabyte Here; STEP 4 For the first installation we need to set AHCI Mode to [Enabled] and SATA Port0-3 Native mode to [Enabled] You'll find it in Integrated Peripherals > SATA RAID /AHCI Mode and Integrated Peripherals > SATA Port0-3 Native mode STEP 5 Insert the grub-dfe Disc, wait for the "system failure", type Enter then eject the Disc and insert the Apple Mac OS X Leopard Retail 10.5 DVD, type -v (Verbose mode) and then Enter again; NOTE I had some problems to boot up with optical drives when AHCI mode is Enabled. So here is a trick that worked for me: Restart the PC and type F12 to go to boot up selection; Open the Optical Drive, put on the Grub-DFE disc and DO NOT close the optical drive yet; Wait for the Boot selection; Select DVD Boot, then type Enter; Now close the optical drive; If everything worked u should see the "Grub-dfe boot screen" then follow the step 6. If not try more times. STEP 6 After Changing disc and insert the Leopard Retail DVD 10.5, you should see the Leopard welcome boot screen. (It takes some minutes to boot up); STEP 7 Before Install Leopard we need to Format our Disk to GUID Partition: - Go to Disk Utility from Utilities on the top menu; - You should see Orange drive, don't worry, it's ok; - Click on the HARD drive you want to Install Leopard; - Then click on the 3rd tab on the right called Partition; - So on Volume Scheme select 1 partition; - Select the name: (type Leopard); - Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled); - Then click Option and select GUID Partition Table from the new window. - Type Apply - And your HD is formatted in GUID; STEP 8 Close Disk Utility and follow the procedure to install Leopard on your GUID HD; STEP 9 The installation takes about 30 minutes. At the end you'll have a message of Succeful installation (or not succesful, it's just the same). Then type Restart; This time you have to Restart the machine by yourself when you see MACH REBOOT on the black screen (thanks to -v mode) STEP 10 On the second Reboot we have to do just the same we did on STEP 5 but this time we don't have to put on the DVD Leopard Disc, we just have to type a Number to let Our disk boot (Usually try 80 or 81); after type Enter you should se the Darwin boot screen. Here type -v and Enter again; STEP 11 Wait for a while and we'll be on the Welcome video from Apple (It should be a bit broken, don't worry, it's the graphic card without driver) Now follow the information screen and insert all data and so on. Important: Connect your mac with a cable or during this step you'll have a kind of loop with no escape. I recommend to insert a password for the following STEPS STEP 12 Finally we are on the Leopard Desktop. No sound, No QE /CI, Orange drives, it's ok.. bring a club and destroy your PC. Just kidding.. all these issues will disappear at the end of this Tutorial. Ok, that's the important part. Be careful STEP 13 Put on the USB Pendrive with all our stuffs: - Copy the content on the Desktop. - Now Run PCEFIv9, type your password and install it. - Clicking on Leopard HD on Desktop we'll see that PCEFI has created a new folder called Extra an it's empty. - Now extract the Extensions.zip and copy the Extensions.mkext in to the Extra folder: you need to type the password and then Ok. STEP 14 Run DSDTPatcherGUI and let it on background opened:DO NOT CLOSE IT! Now run MaxOSXUpdCombo10.5.6.pkg downloaded from Apple and install it. At the end of the installation it will ask to restart your PC: DO NOT RESTART FOR ANY REASON! , just leave the MacOsComboUpdate windows on background. Go back to DSDTPatcherGUI window and select: Choose Operating System: Darwin / Mac OS X DSDT Patcher Option: Apply DSDT Patch to: [Select the HD with Leopard installed on it] in this case "Leopard" Then click on Run DSDT Patcher Tips: Sometimes this program has problems. It happens that you cannot click on Run DSDT Patcher, don't worry DO NOT CLOSE IT, just deselect or change setting then select again the right setting and then try again clicking on Run DSDT Pacher. It woked for me. After this YOU CAN RESTART YOUR PC by clicking on Restart from Mac Combo Update window. Like the first time, you have to wait the message on black screen MACH REBOOT and then restart your PC manually. STEP 15 At this 3rd restart go to Bios Setting again by clicking Del button. Then set AHCI Mode to [Disabled] and SATA Port0-3 Native mode to [Enabled] Save setting and Restart DO NOT INSERT ANY DISC, just wait for automatically boot from HD (Thanks to PCEfiv9) Finally we should come back to Leopard with Normal HD, Sound and Wake Up / Sleep / Restart workin'. Update from Software Update everything you want but DO NOT try the 10.5.7 yet when it will be out. STEP 16 ONLY FOR 8800GT Run OSX86Tools and then click on Add EFI Strings / Boot Flag On the new Window Click to top/left on GFX Strings, select your Card and click on Import String to Boot Editor, come back to prev window and set 4 on the label below the line: Please enter the timeout to use for the bootloader (in seconds). Leave blank to use none. Current timeout seconds: 4 are the seconds that Darwin waits before boot on Leopard (It's useful for any restore or maintenace of Operating System) So click on Apply changes to com.apple.Boot.plist, type the password and Ok.; Restart. Done. TIPS After iTunes and Quicktime updates you should have some problem with your mouse (strange behaviours when one of those program is running) So to solve this problem just remove from System/Library/Extentions/ the file AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext, Repair permission, reboot and that's all. Inside the Extensions.mkext I've modified the AppleSMBIOSEFI just putting RAM Frequency and so on. Don't worry are just for System Profiler and not for performance. PROBLEMS Graphic: When I start the System the white bar on top ain't transparent. When I click on any App the white bar turns transparent again Any solution? Audio: If I don't play sound for a lot of time and then I try to play a song I have a strange sound at the beginng (It's just like the sound should me reactivated) After that all goes well. Any solution? That's all folks. Thanks to everyone! And sorry for my english. Dam
(0x0614) Qualche idea? Grazie in anticipo
