  1. [How To]Atheros AR5212 based cards, now w/ Leopard

I have a DWL-G520 rev. b3 with an AR5213 chipset as well. Here are the steps I used to get it working in 10.5.2 (works in 10.5.3) as well: 1. Install the "Wireless Patch" from the iatkos 10.5.1 dvd. (i seperated this package and put it in the attachment below) 2. Replace IO80211Family.kext with the one from 10.4.8. (also in the attachment) 3. In terminal enter these commands: sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/ sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/ sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions.mkext Everything should work after that. dwl_g520_revb3_ar5213.zip
  2. 10.5.3 kernel by modbin breaks Vmware!

I am also one of the few who have a Pentium D. It seems like 64 bit support is not quite there in the modbin kernel because when I boot with the 64 bit flag Chess (a 64 bit app crashes). It also seems to not recognize my full 4GB of ram since that needs 64 bit as well. In 10.5.2 it boot automatically in 64-bit and chess worked. Do you think you can PM me the 10.5.2 system.kext phobox? I forgot to back it up. Hopefully there will be an updated kernel just like we've seen many revisions of the 9.2 kernel. EDIT: Also noticed that SysProfile lists only 1MB of L2 Cache. In 10.5.2 it correctly reported 4MB.
  3. About this Mac

works great for me, previously shown as "3 GHz Unknown", Thanks! pd_atm.tiff
  4. I also have a 4200 and am curious about the procedure. I have tried many things, all not working. Personally I think pat is mistaken. Of course I'd love to be proven wrong...
