Hi Gordon Buchanan and thanks for your reply. I have purchased a retail copy of Snow Leo 10.6, but haven't tried to install it yet as all guides i have found had a couple of issues still to be fixed, so i decided to stick with my 99% working 10.5.6 system until find a better guide. When i say "99% working" i am referring to my PCI slots (2x white slots at the bottom of the board). I got a -Broadcom "wireless G" PCI-adapter (Airport utility compatible) and the system does not find it unless i boot in safe mode (-x). If i boot normally, it does not appear in system profiler but when in safe mode it comes up in the airport device section as "third party device" working perfectly. I have tried to fix it with OSX utilities, but no luck. If you could confirm your PCI slots are working and explain how you updated to 10.6, would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help!!
  3. Hi Zengiga and thanks for the info. Could you explain how to add the efi string for a PCI device which has compatible drivers with my hackintosh? Do i need to use OSX Tools? Please let me know. Thanks
  4. The card is indeed recognised by the system. I tried to fix it with OSXtools, but no luck. Although now i am able to use it if i boot in safe mode (-x). I have used it (very fast) while in safe mode and it works great, but if i boot normally, it doesn't recognise it. I am not sure what to do!! i have been running in safe mode for over a week now. Thanks again for your help!!

Hi Alan!! Can you confirm that your PCI slots are working. I have,'t been able to get them to work unless i boot in safe mode (-x). I have a Broadcom PCI wireless card recognised as an Airport card, but my PCI devices are not detected if i'm not running in safe mode. Everything else working out of the box: All 4 Cores, Sound, Firewire, etc.. Check this topic. There's a fix for the sound there!! http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1258525
  6. Hi, You may find your answer in this topic: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1258525 There is also a very easy fix for the sound explained there. Hope it helps.

All files re-uploaded and checked!! Sorry about the delay!!!
  8. Hi all!! blackosx thanks for your impressive guide! I have ran my system successfully since you released this great guide. I was using my built in ethernet and was very fast. Now my problem is that i moved my computer to a different room and needed an internet wireless device in my hackintosh. I had a "PCI wireless N" Ralink card that a friend gave to me a while ago. I tried to use this Ralink card but wouldn't show up on OSX, so i bough an airport compatible Broadcom wireless card, but it doesn't show up either. I have tried several PCI devices and i'm sure my PCI slots are not working. PCI-E is working, as i have just upgraded to crossfire graphics with a second graphics card to run 3 screens. After doing some research i am convinced it has something to do with the extensions or kernels. There is some people who had the same problem, but no clear solution lies around. Please if anyone had the same problem..... Any help would be much appreciated!! Thanks for the great work guys!!
  9. Thanks MacUser2525! Thanks for the reply. I tried the kext with no success, now the sleep is not working either. Can you explain how to place the kernel in the right place? Thanks for your help. It's well appreciated
  10. I have the exact same problem in my machine. Everything works great, except the power off problem!! If anybody knows a way to fix this... Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
  11. mobo GA-EP45-DS3R Great guide!! I have successfully installed, retail Leopard 10.5 updated to 10.5.5 and also 10.5.6 in my Hack Pro (see specs in my signature). After using the post-patch.sh, chameleon and EFI Strings, everything was working except the SOUND. I had to use the HDAenabler and HDA kext files that i used in my last successful installation and a Kext Helper to inject them correctly. I couldn't manage to use the "HDA and Dump" files provided in this post. However my sound now works great. I am using the optical output in the board watching DVDs in 5.1 and sound is awesome!! The files i used are posted below. To use them, just open the Kext helper; using kext helper select the two remaining files; wait for confirmation and that should be it. Reboot and check your system. This worked for me. Apple HDA kext: AppleHDA.kext.zip HDA Enabler: HDAEnabler.kext.zip Kext Helper: Kext_Helper_b7.app.zip I have checked sleep, ethernet, and even Bonjour, they all work. Now my only problem, is when i switch the computer off, the system shuts down, but the fans inside still spin and the power stays on. I have seen some fixes for this, floating around the internet and tried them all with no success. If anyone could help me with this problem. I need help!!! Thanks guys
  12. Thanks for all you help!!! I have learnt lots from this forum!!
  13. After reading several posts, i am pretty sure it must be due to the IDE DVD drive. You have to get a SATA dvd drive. I had a similar problem and the only solution i found was using only SATA HDs and DVD drive. I also used bootlader132 and retail 10.5.0. Hope this helps.
  14. Hi everyone.. I am new in the forum.. so HI users and admins.... I just got hold of an Asus P5W DH Deluxe and i have decided i am going to build a proper computer to run OS X. I have already looked at some parts: CPU TOWER: 500w EV Black 802 Mid Tower Case. I like this case because of its serious look and also the 4 handles which remind me of..... you know.. The price is also a good point but the most important is the distribution and ventilation posibilities of its design. Is a bargain for the price. Graphic card: Nvidia GeForce 7600GT 256MB DDR3 I am not sure this ddr3 card will work. any help? Any better options? All advice is more than welcome.. Memory: 4Gb (2x2Gb) Corsair XMS2 800MHz 6400 DDR2 I intend to get another set of 2x2Gb soon. Processor:Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz Q6600 socket 775 After looking and looking these are the lowest prices i found: RAM Memory; £60ish Processor; £80ish G. Card; £30ish Tower; £35ish £205ish Still need to get a Hard Disk but that is pretty much it. I have a decent 22" display which should do the job, as i do not edit video or photo. My main questions are: Is it worth to go for a better graphic card for a bit more of money? i am not sure what models work with OS x. If i could have any advice would be much appreciated. What are the bigger processors that suit my asus p5w dh deluxe? Does anyone know if the Microsoft IR media Player remote can be used with OSX's front row? I hope this post is ok, dont forget it is my first time.. Thanks
