  1. About This Mac Background

Put the downloaded file in the following location. Restart and it should be back to normal. /System/Library/CoreServices/LoginWindow/Contents/Resources/ http://cl.ly/3U2Q2I3m2l091R050d1X
  2. Show Your OS X Desktop!

bh2 is correct, it's called Bowtie.
  3. Right click the file and choose "Get info". Go to the section where it says "Open with" and choose terminal. Applications>Utilities>Terminal.app Also, I forgot to add a line of code. At the very bottom add the following. system "killall Terminal"; That will close the terminal window when the job is complete.
  4. kext whitout -f

Go to Library>Preferences>SystemConfiguration>com.apple.Boot.plist Copy it to your desktop and open it in Text Edit. Locate the following <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> And add -f in between <string> and </string> It should now look something like this <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string> -f </string> Save and drag it back into the directory. It will ask you for your password and if you want to overwrite the existing file. Go ahead and click "replace" and enter your password.
  5. Here's a Perl script I whipped up. Open it in TextEdit and change "Volume Name Here" to the name of the volume and save it. Go to System Preferneces>Accounts>Login items. Drag the script into there. http://cl.ly/270d3f3o3g272F2I422R
  6. LeoHazard Mouse Lag

Give this kext a try. It's done wonders for me. http://www.kexts.com/view/11-nvidia_-_mous...xquot;_x64.html
  7. 10.6.6 NTFS Support?

If you don't mind spending money NTFS-3G is a great program that will allow you to read/write NTFS partition. But, if you don't want to spend money you can use NTFS Mounter, you can find both links below. NTFS-3G NTFS Mounter
  8. vmware kerenel panic

Hello, ever since I updated to 10.6.6 using nawcom's kernel and combo updates Quicktime crashes when it plays video. Normally I would just use VLC and move on, but I need to enable right click on my magic mouse, but every time I go to the quicktime preferences it crashes because it's trying to play the tutorial video. I thought it was a video card problem at first, so I removed the video driver, and the problem still occurs. So I'm assuming it's something to do with Nawcom's kernel. I've also tried removing touchMovie.mov from the preference pane, but it won't launch without it. Fixed by going into 32bit mode sys preferences. It's funny how I'll be working on the problem for days, and figure it out right after I post in here. Problem 2, when I start vmWare fusion it causes a kernel panic. In 10.6.0 I was able to avoid this by using an IOata kernel panic fix. But that is no longer working. Also, I'm running on an AMD Phenom, 8Gb ram, Foxconn Destroyer, and in 10.6.0 I was using the Chocolate Kernel if it helps.
  9. kernel panic after update 10.6.6

When you updated did you install a new kernel and remove sleepenabler.kext? That was my largest problem when I updated. Download the 10.6.6 kernel installer by Nawcom. Install the combo update from Apple and then install the Nawcom installer. It will take care of all the work for you. http://prasys.info/2011/01/10-6-6-legacy-kernel-is-out/
  10. Mac won't boot unless install DVD is in

How much ram do you have? I had a similar problem. Try starting it with these commands. cpus=1 arch=i386 maxmem=4096. You have to add maxmem if you have over 4Gb of ram. I'm still searching for a fix. And as for the USB devices, what chipset is your mobo?
  11. Which Graphics Card / GPU would you suggest? Dec 2010

I would suggest the PNY GTX 260. You can pick it up for about $170. It is fully recognized by snow leopard. All you need is nvenabler. Not to mention the performance is amazing. I've had literally no problems with it at all.
  12. Only reading 1 GB ram

I managed to get it to read 4Gb of ram. But if I go over 4Gb it shuts down mid boot. Any ideas? Once this is fixed everything will be working 100%.
  13. Only reading 1 GB ram

The problem is that I had ubuntu installed on the disk previously and grub took over the whole disk. So the empire efi is the only way I can boot into the OS. I attempted to install the post install package on another disk, but it always kernel panics when the system boots. I'll back up the data and wipe the disk clean. Then I'll try it.
  14. Only reading 1 GB ram

Hello, I finally managed to get Snow leopard installed on my Foxconn destroyer. All the hardware is working, except for some reason it's only reading 1Gb of ram. I have 8 Gb of ram installed so this is very annoying. I'm using the Chocolate kernal with an AMD phenom 9650 if it helps.
