  1. I think you need the alc268 or alc286 drive..can't remember wich ..but it isnt alc888 that was my mistake..
  2. If you do, try a program like sisoft sandra or whatever. It should give actual chip numbers where the device manager gives crazy hard to track down id's
  3. Trackpad scrolling not working

Try looking here... and let me know if it works... http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...alps&st=165 Like I said let me know how it works...should work if you have alps or synaptics ps2 touch pad. Apple actually uses a synaptics touch pad. If it works for you I may try it when mine gets here. Thanks.
  4. For sure need to check the post I linked you to. There is a fix for the headphone jack . It will give you sound from the speakers or headphones when you plug them in of course and will also allow volume control. Lan I am not sure about. Would be best if you have the chipset information and I will help you out. Most people don't fix it since they don't use it but I want it to work also. Keep me updated as you fix things and maybe I can use the info when mine comes in
  5. Awesome...I can't wait to get mine, but right now it says it stuck in Utah because of adverse weather I would highly recomend trying IAtkos r2 on that...seesm to be the best and has alot better performance from what I understand. x3100 work with qe and ci right out of the box. Wlan works out of the box sound also. Good luck and i will keep checking here...
  6. Congrats on the good deal Did you buy it on ebay from a seller named eblackhorse or something like that ? I just bought the same thing from that guy and waiting on delivery! I started a thred about the Iatkos r2 install on this system and have gotten so pretty good information in it.. been using it to keep notes to my self even lol. There is a fix for the sound to make volume control and head phones work also if I am not mistaken. Well Guess I will just have to keep following yet another extensa thread for progress till mine arrives lol! Good luck and have fun. Let me know if you need any help at all.
  7. acer sound ports?

Looking for the same thing on an ace extensa 4620z myself. I think it has a alc888 realtek chip but not 100% sure as I have not gotten it shipped to me yet from ebay seller. there is an apple hda patcher or something around that may help a ton. People really need to know your actual sound chip to help you out. Should be lsited in device manager under windows. I too would like to know the answer for sure however! We may be able to use the same driver!
  8. AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

Any one gotten mic input or headphone output working on alc888 realtek ? My acer has this and would love to get the headphone jack working. Tried reading this post but its way to many pages to keep going! Thanks for any help you can give me!
  9. Acer Laptop users (Intel).

I saved my self the trouble. In case it is hopeless to get the intel WLAN card going, I bought a Dell 1490 (?) on ebay that I know will work out of the box. Search for them and you can EASILY find them for 10 bucks or less! It saves a headache and let's face it, if I have no wifi, what's the point?
  10. Acer Laptop users (Intel).

Ok I sold my old IBook on ebayand ended up buying an Acer Extensa 4620 (there are a ton of models) And Hope to run OSX on that. I have downloaded so far tiger builds from uphuck and also leopard builds from uphuck and the brazil or whatever release it's called. I have REPLACED or at least ordered from ebay a Dell 1490 card I think it is (PCIE WLAN) to replace the stock unit as I hear it works out of the box in OSX. What problems with my other hardware such as sound and video may I encounter on this machine? Wich of the release I downloaded should I hit up first? I PREFER to run Leopard but will run Tiger if it is a must. Below are two links to the specs of my laptops hardware. Should be almost 100% accurate. 12. Well I finally sold my old G4 ibook. Was starting to show its age in leopard! So I bought this Acer on ebay and I am curious if I will have any luck installing Leopard? What is the reccomended course of action I should take? I will post a link to the auction as well as what I think is the stats on the acer support page. If leopard is not going to work on here I guess I can also go back to tiger (would rather stay leopard). Thanks in advance for suggestions! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...N:IT&ih=024 http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/por...s=&areaid=7 Mine will ahve the Intel x3100 gpu but I am unsure exactly what brand WLAN and LAN are in that model other than what those pages state. Thanks again!
  13. error while setting up dual boot

I am curious about doing that as well since I also use Vista...Thing is...I have to get it installed in vmware first and figure out how to conert to native heh
  14. Still waiting on root device? ATI200 chipset

Well..I figured out a half solution...When it gave me the error..I simply switched the dvd into another drive wich was a usb dvd-rw drive and it continued to boot but when i got to the install screen there was no hdd listed to install to..looks like I will be trying to hunt down the Myzar release huh? Thanks for the continued support guys...Toshiba makes great notebooks..ATI is just the limiting factor!
  15. Still waiting on root device? ATI200 chipset

Ok..I have tried google and the wikki to no avail...I don't know what to do here...I keep hearing about kext files wich I can only assume is kind of like a device driver for osx..is there on out there that matches my sata controller? How do I add it to the dvd? Will it even help at all? Can I do a vmware install or something then copy it to a partition on my hdd? Any suggestions are welcome..I am dying to get this going!
