Wow, this is great news!! Do you have proper resolution on internal LCD?
2. Dell Studio Laptop 1747

I use usb wifi adapter too. I am also trying to install Lion from a separate partition, but it does not go through the boot.
3. Dell Studio Laptop 1747

CALYPSODON, it worked like a charm! Thank you very much! Is your laptop exactly like mine? I am asking because I spent some time playing with DSDT to enable wifi. It is now posted as PCI card, but no drivers installed.
4. Dell Studio Laptop 1747

Can you post your DSDT.aml? I am curious how you make native sound to work. Thank you. Delete all ATI video kexts. At first reboot use -x flag. Use dsdt.aml, and boot file and EDID override from the first post. You will get 1152x864 screen resolution without using -x flag. You will have to delete ATI kexts after each combo update, before rebooting or computer will freeze. I also advise to have a separate small partition and install Kalyway, that will give you an easy access to snow leopard partition to manipulate with boot files and kexts.

I think you are right, it is something else, probably specific to Sudio1747 hardware. As far as sound is corncerned, download AppleHDA.kext and IDT.kext from this thread http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...muras&st=60
7. Has anybody had any success enabling full resolution on Dell Studio 1747 (Mobility Radeon 4650)? If you have any progress please post!

12. Dell Studio Laptop 1747

Has anybody tried new RADEON HD kexts from dong ? http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=190586 I have my card and display correctly detected but LVDS is black, I can only access laptop via VNC. Anybody has the same problem or any success?
13. Hi Dong, I tried your last radeon kext of 05/17/2011 and I got black screen on my notebook. I have Studio 1747 i7 with ATI Mobility 4650 (x9480). When I login via VNC I can see that display resolution is detected correctly 1600x900, and the card is detected too, although with only 256 MB of RAM. Do you have any suggestions what to try next? Thank you, almuras
14. Never tried this method, but I guess it is another good option to access SL partition.
15. Use ##### Legacy. If it still freezes use -x flag. If still freezes use cpus=1 busratio=20. After install delete ATI video kexts or it will freeze again. At first reboot use -x flag again. You will have to delete ATI kexts after each combo update, before rebooting. If you can use GUID formatted separate hard drive to install retail disk. I also advise to have another small partition and install Kalyway, that will give you an easy access to snow leopard partition to manipulate with boot files and kexts.
