any success on INTEL DQ35JO mobo?

afaik the "still waiting for..." error comes up if your chipset is not supported or misconfigured in BIOS. setting the SATA-mode to Native and AHCI and activating HPET in the BIOS solved it for me. (using a SATA-DVD-drive and a SATA-HDD) using the CHAOSX release I can install natively now. vmware-method means installing a virtualization-software named "vmware" under windows and installing osx within a virtual machine. then copy the virtual partition to a real one (I'm using a bootmanager called "bootitNG" for that). then you should be able to boot osx natively. good luck dan.

any success on INTEL DQ35JO mobo?

alright: update... finally got it running using the vmware method and jas 10.4.8 dvd issues still to solve: LAN: Intel® 82566DM-2 Gigabit LAN (not much hope for this one... gonna get a cheap working realtek card) VGA: ATI 2600XT seems to be supported somehow ( http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=64269 ) Sound: no luck yet, but work in progress greetz, dan.
  3. Hi everyone, although this is one of my first posts I'm not completely new to this forum. since my old hackintosh-laptop died I bought a new system - desktop this time - which I thought should run osx fine. neverthelless I'm stuck basically at step 1. I tried to install 10.4.8 on my new system, so far unsuccessfully. first my specs: Mainboard: INTEL DQ35JO (details here: http://www.intel.com/products/motherboard/dq35jo/) Chipset: Intel Q35 that contains: Intel® 82Q35 Graphics and Memory Controller Hub (GMCH) Intel® 82801IDO I/O Controller Hub (ICH9DO) Audio: 4-channel (2+2) audio subsystem using the RealTek* ALC268-GR audio codec CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (2x2,67 Ghz, 1333 Mhz FSB) LAN: Intel® 82566DM-2 Gigabit LAN Video: ATI HD2600XT no dvd works (tried kalyway and jas 10.4.8) always stops while booting from DVD before even starting the installer at "ACPI: System state [s0 S3 S4 S5] (S3)" - I don't even get the "waiting for root device" message. this is what I tried so far: boot from SATA-DVD-drive: no luck boot from IDE-DVD-drive: no luck boot from USB-DVD-drive (SATA to USB adapter): no luck tried several HDDs (SATA, IDE, USB): no luck BIOS set to AHCI mode for SATA: doesn't help disabled everything not crucial in BIOS: doesn't help any ideas? I thought the Q35 chipset can't be that different from the P35 chipset which apparently works (both are based on ICH9). I really don't know what's the problem. Thanx a lot for any help... dan.
  4. don't think so... it never happens with winXP... temperatures in WinXP are around 55c ... maximum 60c. If I run osX, after about an hour or so (depends if I run CPU intensive applications) it switches off... if I reboot immediately to WinXP CPU temperatue is around 78c... so... it's definitely osX that overheats my pc. it's an acer aspire 5012 laptop so I guess there's not much I could do to improve cooling. I did not change anything with the hardware so it is a problem with OSX. greetz... d.
  5. ...after some tests i can confirm, that my "sudden switch-off" problem is indeed because of overheating... luckily my amd athlon64 3000+ has an automatic feature included in the cpu architecture that switches off the cpu if a certain temperature is reached... else osX would have probably fried my cpu... any idea how to deal with that? is there any possibility to get support for the "cool n quiet" feature of amd cpu's in osX? greetz, d.

ATI AC 97 Sounds (SB400) effort

my hardware here: Audio Controller = "ATI(4370)" ac97 codec Realtec = "ALC655" would be great if this one would be supported... keep up the good work... (since i don´t have any coding skills I unfortunately can´t help with this one) thanx alot and greetz from tel aviv... d.
  7. how did you find out the CPU temperature in osX? any tool i tried so far tells me something like "no sensor detected" I did a re-run of maxxuss amd_enabler 1.0a... but that didn't solve the problem.... I'm still not 100% sure if it is a overheating problem... greetz. d.
  8. same problem here with an amd athlon 64 3000+ (2,5 Ghz instead of 1,8 Ghz) I'm facing random crashes/switchoffs when running cpu-intensive applications, so I think it could be because of overheating. I also did a vmware to native installation - maybe that's the reason? anyone who did a pure native installation with the same problem? greetz.. d.
  9. hi everybody... I just successfully installed 10.4.5 from the myz prepatched DVD, but from time to time it just switches itself off without any warning. I think this happens because of overclocking/overheat since osX doesn't seem to recognize my cpu right. Sytem Profiler shows the correct CPU name "AMD Athlon 64 3000+" but the CPU Speed is 2,5 Ghz (should be 1,8 Ghz) my BIOS doesn't allow me to switch the amd "cool and quiet" feature off or to change the clockspeed of the CPU manually. any ideas how to fix that? Is it possible to enter the corect CPUID manually? (AMD_enabler maybe?) I'm still pretty new to this so any help would be very much appreciated. thanx... d. running OSX 10.4.5 (myz prepatched DVD) natively Acer Aspire 5012 Laptop AMD Athlon 64 3000+ ATI IXP Chipset (working) ATI IXP Ac97 Audio (not working yet) ATI Radeon x-700 mobile (worked with hacks @ 10.4.3, 10.4.5 not tried yet) Bluetooth (working) Wireless (not tried yet)

would be great if you could fix it.. have the same audio hardware here... tried almost everything, but audio is the last thing not working at all on my acer aspire 5012 thx... d. specs: acer aspire 5012 laptop AMD64 3000+ ATI Mobility x700 (working although some mouse tearing) ATI SB400 AC97 Audio (not working yet) Bluetooth, LAN (working) - Wireless not tried yet. running OSX 10.4.5 (myzo prepatched dvd) and WinXP (w/ bootitNG as bootmanager - recommended!)
