  1. Modded ALC662 & Sigmatel 9223 with codec verbs

Morning All, I am working on a Hackintosh for a buddy of mine... all was well until I ran into getting the correct AppleHDA.kext BIOSTAR GF7050V-M NVIDIA GeForce 7050 Realtek ALC662 6 Channels So I have been up and down the forums all night and into the morning..... Im kinda a OSX nub but I know my way around...... I initially started by downloading some of the Kexts that other users posted..... So I got versions OcciJano's Kext: Modded 662 /IronFly / tmongol / Front Audio ----- None of them seem to work but in System Profiler I have: When I go to System Preferences I have no Audio Output Devices......... So I did some deeper reading and grabbed a copy of Turaga's AppleHDAPatcher v1.2 and learned how to get my codec dump NON662 When I run my Dump through the patcher I get: ------ So I reboot with a CoolAid smile that only hours of reading can bring.... until of course I realize that it didnt work either...... I suppose the problem I am having is the fact that I dont know if I have a "Original Version" of AppleHDA.kext. I went on the search for an unedited kext but to no avail Any one Got any Ideas?? 3. Reported working using Verdants instructions and Mysticus's nForce updated packages.... Booted in safe mode and installed video drivers and booted fine after that. My audio drivers are the only thing I have left to fix. --------------I am getting random kernal panics though, will be trolling for some answers to that problem. I am currently running the Voodoo Kernel as specified in the instructions--------------- Noncentz
  4. Well..... When I install this package: nForce Drivers package 1.2 I can manage to restart but I see that the display fails during boot but I can still get to the OS. Problem is it looks like {censored}! If I run via -v -x in Safe mode I can boot correctly. Is it possible to still continue with my update while in safe mode then install my graphics drivers once i get to 10.5.5? ------------------------ A. Run the Mysticus C* nForce Drivers package, choosing ONLY nForceATA Step 1 - Patched NVDIA Drivers Step 2 - NVdarwin GFX Memory Select the correct VRAM value for your GFX card Voodoo Beta 2C and restart.....booting with -v -f. 5. Hello Gentleman..... First of all I am so damn happy I finally found this Topic. I am running a EVGA 780i FTW and getting a Hackintosh on here as been pretty confusing so far.... I have sucked down Kalyways/iAtkos/iDeneb all with varying results but I have a working copy using my iAtkos 4.1 v10.5.4. I am configured with 3 partitions... 1 for Main , 1 for Test , 1 is FAT My problem centers around my graphics card. Since I am running a 9600GTS 512 I apparently cannot use my card until I upgrade to 10.5.5 --- I am currently working with Mysticus C's method via this topic : Complete Updates for Newbies and All -- Currently 10.5.5 Combo (Only Intel CPUs). I kept borking my system by using an older version from Bike Town.... -But now new hope: I read Mysticus C's post above me and I have downloaded the appropriate files. I plan on using this method that Verdant posted which is also above me ... I am using: version 1.2 nvidia drivers MaxOSXUpdateCombo 10.5.5 Here is the process I believe : ------------------------------ A. Run the Mysticus C* nForce Drivers package, choosing ONLY nForceATA Step 1 - Patched NVDIA Drivers Step 2 - NVdarwin GFX Memory Select the correct VRAM value for your GFX card Voodoo Beta 2C and restart.....booting with -v -f. B. Run the Mysticus C* v1.1.5 Combo Updater packages (opening Installer Log from Installer top menu bar to show "errors and progress"......Do not close Installer Log window until the end, when you should save the Installer Log File), in order: 1st. nForce Pre Patch (DO NOT RESTART and leave installer window open) 2nd. Apple 10.5.5 Combo Updater (DO NOT RESTART and leave installer window open) 3rd. Post Patch ---------------------------- I guess the only part that I am confused on during this whole process is the fact that my video card requires special attention and the correct order of events.... after reading so much craziness.. Thanks for everything btw guys... this community is awesome Noncentz
  6. Morning All, I am currently installing iAtkos 4.1 10.5.4 on to this my personal build I am able to install iAtkos just fine on this board accept for the Video because of my 9600 isnt supported under 10.5.4 Kernal: nForce Kernal 9.2.0 Core EFI No Video Drivers Selected because of my card I am following Mysticus C instructions via: Complete Updates for Newbies and All -- Currently 10.5.5 Combo (Only Intel CPUs) I am using 1 disk with 2 partitions on it so I can access a working install at anytime. After completing my update I cant seem to boot, neither in safe mode or other wise (i get the grey screen and the usual reboot txt). I have tried all the Kernels listed <li>9.2.0 ToH: This is a safe choice over 9.2.0 ToH kernel. If you don't have any idea, please choose this option!!!! -- Can anybody point me in the direction of a good sticky that has info on replacing the kernel on a separate partition/install or testing diff kernels without having to start fresh. Also a good tutorial on kexts will probably help me a ton. --- can u tell im a nub... but not for long... -- On a different note I am also trying to update via iDeneb 10.5.5 so my video card will work but when I boot into safe mode I do not have working USB which prevents me from using it. Has anyone run into this problem before by chance Thanks in Advance  Noncentz ------------------------------------------------ My Build: Pentium Core 2 Quad 9450, nForce 750i SLI, 4 GB 800mhz RAM, 9600 GT 512 RAM, 800 Watt Power Supply, IDE DVD R\W, Blue Ray Rom Drive 3 500GB Seagate HD running RAID 5 with 2 Windows Partition one being FAT32 1 160GB Seagate HD 1 partition Mac OSX 10.5.4 / 1 partition Mac OSX TEST
  7. Hello All, I am currently installing iAtkos 4.1 10.5.4 on to this my personal build: Pentium Core 2 Quad 9450, nForce 750i SLI, 4 GB 800mhz RAM, 9600 GT 512 RAM, 800 Watt Power Supply, IDE DVD R\W, Blue Ray Rom Drive 3 500GB Seagate HD running RAID 5 with 2 Windows Partition one being FAT32 1 160GB Seagate HD Mac OSX 10.5.4 I am able to install iAtkos just fine on this board accept for the Video because of my 9600 isnt supported under 10.5.4 Kernal: nForce Kernal 9.2.0 Core EFI netkas SMBIOS No Video Drivers Selected I am following Mysticus C instructions up top but when I reboot I get a kernel panic and I think its due to the fact that I am changing my kernel to StageXNU. I tried this Kernel during my tests with iAtkos and it would say something along the lines of cant write to Kernel then would freeze. ---- Is there a way to keep my working Kernel during this installation? 8. iATKOS v4i upgrade to 10.5.5

Ok With the sleep Kernel I get IOKitWaitQuiet() timed out waiting to write kernel symbols then nothing when I try to boot regularly but when I choose to boot in SAFE MODE via -v -x Then Huzzah.... It works. My assumption is with safe mode im not booting with device drivers (or the mac equivalent i mean?) ---- Now If I can only figure out why, I will be trying to use the patched version if iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 Chipset - AppleNForceATA test Kernel - 9.2.0 Sleep ACPI Fix Cpus =1 Fix and if that doesnt work I will reinstall with the sleep kernel and AppleNForceATA and then begin the process of figuring out why I can boot regularly....
  9. iATKOS v4i upgrade to 10.5.5

so I have been doing some major reinstalling..... SO I got the iDeneb 10.5.5 but I cant seem to get this version to work on my 780i at all. Given I dont have many options but to keep trying installs due to my lack of knowledge but here is what I got. My many tries.... First - I tried default settings with nothing selected other that the AppleNForceATA... that was stupid because the defualt Kernal is 9.5.0 Vanilla..... FAIL Second Try... Chipset - AppleNForceATA Kernel - 9.2.0 Sleep ACPI Fix Cpus =1 Fix Results: I booted and got to the grey screen with the spinning clock deal.. Then it froze. With -v I believe my error was kext[D] or something of the sort, I wasnt recording the results at the time Third Try Chipset - AppleNForceATA Kernel - 9.2.2 SSE3 Results: No love, Just reboots repeatedly Fourth Try: Chipset - AppleNForceATA Kernel - 9.2.0 speedstep .... why you ask... I ask why not... and desperation@!#@!$ Resuts: yea, i didnt work I went to http://ideneb.insanelymac.net/index.php/la...mdate_published And found a patch for the nforce chipsets so hopefully that changes my luck?
  10. iATKOS v4i upgrade to 10.5.5

Yeah Im running my reinstall once again. This time I tried Mysticus C method with his pre and post installation packages via this thread. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=109102 And these links to the packages. http://mysticus.titanous.com/update.html It was quite uneventful. I ran the pre install pack then ran the 10.5.5 Combo Update and then the post install package. But when I ran the post install I was never prompted for customization options, in fact the OS panicked on me and welllll Borked City...... I will not try with the sleep Kernel withe the Delta update and then use the post install and see if luck swings my way....I found this post so thats why im doing it: -------------------------------------- According 3rr0rists, DO NOT use combo update, use delta update 10.5.4 to 10.5.5 only. I think that's why so many people with iATKos v4i screwed up! Anyone with iATKos v4i successfully update to 10.5.5 with combo update? Please share your method! ------------------------------------------ What exactly does the chameleon bootloader have to do with updating to 10.5.5 if I may ask?
  11. Hello All, First of all this is my first Hackintosh so I dont know all that much 'Yet'. I grabbed up an image of iATKOS and it installed no problem, I was fine running 10.5.4 but I never could get my video card as well as random kernel panics so I decided to move to 10.5.5. Here is my current install: iATKOS v4.1 10.5.4 Bootloader - Darwing EFI Bootloader Chameleon - ( not exactly sure what is the advantage of having this yet) Kernel - nForce Kernel 9.2.0 Core EFI - (might change because of panics to sleep 9.2.0 but from what i have read vanilla is the best but since I run an nforce chipset I cant use?) ACPI - Stock ACPI Modified SMBIOS - AppleSMBIOS netkas Software Update Enabler Remove Thermal Kexts Drivers: VGA - ( I am trying to fix my video Thus the update to 10.5.5 ) nForce SATA /IDE Intel Speedstep New nForce Ethernet I tried the method below but after reboot my pc just reboots repeatedly and I dont yet know how to recover it and have to reinstall and try again. I think this might be due to the fact that I couldnt run these instructions: nano /System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/1 Replace the line Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext with dsmos.kext _ when I pulled up the /System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/1 t, The Dont Steal Mac line was not present at all and neither was the dsmox.kext. From what I read you have to have the vanilla kernel for this update to work correctly. Here is the method I used: ------------------------------- Open Terminal sudo -s *type password* while sleep 1; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext; done Open 10.5.5 Update Installer Run update BUT DO NOT RESTART Go back to your terminal and press Control C to end the script In terminal type: nano /System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/1 Replace the line Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext with dsmos.kext Restart and boot with -v ----------------------------------------------- Any Thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated... 12. Morning All, I am trying to install Leo4All 10.5.2 v3 onto my newly created box. I will try to post as much information as possible I am running a GF7050V-M7 Biostar Mobo LGA775 800Mhz FSB 2 WD SATA 350GB HD 1 SATA DVD Combo Drive Core 2 Duo E6750 NVIDIA GeForce 7050 Chipset 4 GB DDR2 RAM 800 Mhz NVIDIA GF 6600 256mb Ram Video Card PCIe 650 Watt Power Supply I originally installed xp over IDE drivers instead of AHCI on another drive and am in the process of creating a slipstream Disk for that but I am using my secondary drive for my Leopard install. I loaded the Disk with AHCI enabled and I was able to boot the disk fine. I reformated the HD to MAC OS Extended and selected MBR for my booting as I will be using 2 HD For my custom options I used the following: - Kernal: Vanilla Kernal (since I am running an intel processor) - Chipset: NForce Test ( seemed like the correct one to use?) - Audio - AzaliaAudio (Default) - Graphics - NVIDIA (I have a GT 6600 and a 7200 series onboard.....) - Network - NVIDIA Chipset? = ForceDeth-V I get through the install with no errors what-so-ever but thatswhen my trouble starts..... I get a bootloader of somekind then I get to a black screen with some commands and it freezes at this point. The last error I get are: local host Directory Service431: WARNING - dsTouch: file was asked to be opened </Library/Preferences/DirectoryService/.DSIsRunning>: <File Exists> local host configd[45]: InterfaceNamer: no network interfaces, could not update plateform UUID Thx guys and ny thoughts on what im doing wrond here would be much appreciated... 13. Hello all, I was wondering if it might be possible to dual boot my 10.3 with 9.1.1 The reason being I would like to run Motu but I only have a version that works with 9.1.1 and not with 10.x or higher. I tried to bring down 4.5 with no avail and i got 5 but it will not run on a G3 ( i have an ibook ) So i guess the question im asking is can I emulate the Hardware on my ibook to install motu 5 or can i run 9.1.1 via a virtual console and use my older version of motu on it?? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated Noncenz
  14. Morning to you all, This is my first post to insanelymac.com thx to TotallyBonkers wireless fix, sux I have to ask a question like this @$%, im also a linux/pc guy so please dont flame me. Ok here is my dilemma, I am trying to get a media laptop ready for a friend who is into Motu Digital Performer. He asked me if I could get him the current version of the applications which I did "then it was 5.1" and try to install it on his machine. But when he brings the laptop in... shocker!!! its an ibook Dual USB Ok, so now I have an ibook running 9.1.1 so I pop in the disk for giggles and I get my first error. "Motu can only run on a 10.2 or higher" So I go get a copy of 10.2 and install it onto the laptop which took me a week thanks to random errors mounting the disk during reboot. So I get the laptop to work on 10.2, pop in the disk and get this error. "Motu can only run on 10.3 or higher" Now why it didnt tell me this in the first place is beyond me but after a quick upgrade to 10.3 and another error.... so then an upgrade to 10.3.9 I was finally at the correct minimum version. So I pop my disk in and viola... error. "Moto must have a G4 processor to run" Well after some research and a day of searching I realize that Motu DP 4.5 is harder to find that the holy grail (im stuck at 18.4%) So Im forced to ask this question. Is there a known process which I can utilize so I can get this applications to bypass its Hardware check. Seems out there but I had to ask.... Unless anyone knows of an available version of 4.5 out there? Any response is much appreciated ~Noncentz~
