  1. Ok im pissed, Sapphire 4850 1gb (dvi+hdmi+vga)...

Has anyone in history ever gotten this card to work properly?
  2. Still haven't gotten any farther with this darn card. Has anyone confirmed if it's actually possible to do something with this card to get it working or should I go buy something else?
  3. Best high end ATI graphics card to go with?

Agreed. It's a damn card, but dont make the same mistake I did by getting the Saphire 4850 dual-slot cooling DVI-HDMI-VGA. It's like pulling teeth to try and get it to work. Apparently all other 4850's are easier to get running
  4. Saphire 4850 almost works...(DVI-HDMI-VGA one)

  5. Saphire 4850 almost works...(DVI-HDMI-VGA one)

I've got the dreaded 4850 with DVI, HDMI, and VGA and I'm running 10.5.8, and when I start the thing up it boots to the desktop, but the screen is in a strange checkered pattern. I read somewhere this has to do with framebuffers that need patching. I've tried ATY_init, Natit, the patched framebuffers and exotic framebuffers from #radeonhd, all to no avail. The dongle trick isnt really much of an option since im flat broke right now. Has anyone gotten this thing to work at all?
  6. Just tried a clean install of 10.5.8 with iDeneb 10.5.8 lite, but it kernel panics in the middle of the instalation, When I boot up and run the installer, it sits for about 10-15 minutes saying it's calculating the install time, then it kernel panics on me, saying something about the "get physicalsegment() out of 32 kb range class IOGeneralMemoryDescription" and "BSD process name corresponding to current thread: Directiory Services What distro did you use to get to 10.5.8, and what would you recommend?
  7. So I have a Radeon HD 4850 512 Dual-slot, which apparently from what I've read has been wreaking havoc on all mankind. So far, the only thing I've been able to get it showing up in is 10.5.6, though only at 1024x768. Everything else in the system works fine. Has anyone been able to successfully get this card to work? I heard something about patching frame buffers or something like that or EFI strings (I don't actually know what I'm talking about),but I haven't read anything about people having any success. Any ideas? ASUS P5QL/EPU (P43/ICH10 Chipsets) Pentium E6300 Dual Core 2.8 4 gigs of DDR2 ram Saphire Radeon 4850 Realtek 8111C Lan
  8. OS stalls at Apple logo...

For starters, here's my system ASUS P5QL/EPU (P43/ICH10 Chipsets) Pentium E6300 Dual Core 2.8 4 gigs of DDR2 ram Saphire Radeon 4850 Realtek 8111C Lan Anyway, I've tried both iDeneb 1.5.8 Lite and iAtkos v7, both of which refuse to go any farther than the Apple logo. After booting in verbose mode, the two things that seem to stand out are that AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement and AppleAPCIPlatform both "have immediate dependencies" on two different things. I'm assuming these could be the culprits here, but I'm clueless how to actually solve it and I've been googling for hours...(albeit very badly, most likely). Any idea what I should do next?
  9. Athlon 64 3800+ 2 gigs DDR 400 Asus A8V-X mobo Realtek 8201CL ethernet I just installed iDeneb and everything's working perfectly but the ethernet. When I go into the Networking preferences, nothing shows up. It's pretty much just blank. Any help would be appreciated.
  10. iPC OSX86 10.5.6 hangs after opening anything

I used english and only english.
  11. First of all, here are my specs Athlon 64 3800+ Asus A8v-x with Via K8T800 chipset Radeon HD2600 pro AGP 2 gigs DDR400 When the OS boots up to the desktop it instantly hangs when I try to access anything. It doesn't completely freeze, but it will take it a minute or two to respond to anything that's been clicked on. The LiveDVD install doesn't do this. Any thoughts? Thanks
  12. I'm running Leo4all on my AMD-based machine and I need to update to 10.5.6. I'm paranoid that I'm going to screw something up by not doing some sort of AMD-specific tweaks or something to keep it working. I heard that I can patch the 10.5.6 update but I don't know how. I have it downloaded but im looking for some utility to patch it. I don't entirely know what I'm doing here. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
  13. I'm running Leo4All 10.5.5 AMD right now, and im looking to update to 10.5.6. Thing is, I'm afraid it might screw up some things and force me to reinstall. The last time I updated, I found some 10.5.5 update from some site (don't remember where) and it worked ok. Does anyone have an updater like that available, or should I use Apple's Software Update? Keep in mind, this is for an AMD machine. Thanks!
  14. I recently installed the Leo4All 10.5.5 update and noticed that my graphics card renders about half as fast as it did previously. Everything's way slower. iTunes visualizer, window effects, animations in the dock. Any way to fix this?
  15. I'm running Leo4All 10.5.5 AMD version and I'm having trouble getting my USB-based M-Audio Mobile Pre to show up in the Sound preferences. Sometimes it does, but I have no idea what makes it do that. Is there something USB-specific I have to configure? I'm pretty new to this hackintosh thing in general so any advice would be helpful.
