  1. Asus nVidia GeForce 210 1GB DDR3 Working!

Thanks for the post! Just followed this on an Asus 210 1GB silent and it runs great, enables 1920x1200 @ 60 on my 24" Dell display. FrontRow opens and runs (under 10.6.7) so I assume that QE/CI are enabled... Again, thanks for the help! -doc
  2. convert .dmg to iso for burning on PC

FYI, this worked on my Win7 x64 box, to burn a DMG of Snow Leopard 10.6.3 1. DMG2IMG (command line tool) from: http://vu1tur.eu.org/tools/ to create the IMG file. 2. Then used ImgBurn (still on windows) to burn IMG to a D/L DVD. Was able to use the resulting DVD to install SL on my Hack-a-Mac. (used HackBoot V5 and the Autopatcher for that). -Doc
  3. Deleted the RealtekR1000.kext from S/L/E and fixed permissions using kext utility. (there is a copy of this kext inside AppleIONetworking.kext already) Everything now works as expected. I'll have to try Snow next... -Doc Now running: ASUS P5GC-MX/1333 / Core2Duo E6750 @2.66Ghz / 4 GB ram / LEOPARD 10.5.8 + chameleon 2.0 r431 (from iAtkos v7 10.5.7)
  4. [quote name=pecos' date='Aug 29 2009, 04:36 PM' post='1241380 So, here is the improved and new version of my DSDT.aml file, builded especially for ASUS P5-GCMX 1333 (it could work also on P5-GCMX...) Wow! This was the key to getting everything working (except LAN, but I added a RT8169 since I wanted GB anyway) under 10.5.7, (now 10.5.8) on my P5GC-MX/1333 also! Here are the steps I took: Installed using Iatkos v7 (10.5.7), selected adding EFI string for GMA950, all other options left as is. Once it was installed and running, replaced DSDT.aml with the downloaded version. Edited /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist and removed the EFI string, that's the part from <string> to </string> and saved it. (hint: use "sudo vi /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist") So far, all seems to work very well. No problem setting res to 1680x1050, full QE and CI + Rotation. It was quite strange using Apple's Software Update to update to 10.5.8 without any gyrations. Thanks to all who made this possible! -Doc Hmm, just lost networking again... will have to check this one out some more. Now running: ASUS P5GC-MX/1333 / Core2Duo E6750 @2.66Ghz / 4 GB ram / LEOPARD 10.5.8 + chameleon 2.0 r431 (from iAtkos v7 10.5.7)
  5. 10.4.8 sse2/sse3 amd/intel bug reports

The AppleIntel8255x.kext in on the JaS sse2/sse3 dvd is PowerPC architecture, for some reason. I was able to use and modify the same kext from the JaS 10.4.6 DVD and get the internal network working on my Intel D945GNTLR. - Doc
  6. I solved this on an Intel D945GNTLR by using Pacifist to extract the IONetworkingFamily.kext from the JaS 10.4.6 DVD and drill down to the AppleIntel8255x.kext, copy that out to the desktop. Then delete the installed AppleIntel8255x.kext, replace it with the one you put on your desktop. (if you do a Get Info on each of the kexts, you'll notice that the one from your machine (installed by the JaS 10.4.8 DVD) is PowerPC, and the one you extracted from the 10.4.6 DVD is Universal. Then edit the Info.plist as seen in the Genius Bar article, I used 0x27dc8086 for my board. Repair Permissions, clear the kext cache, and restart. Voila! We have network. Now on to getting the Sigmatel 9223 working... - Doc
