  1. Successful D5400XS Skulltrail install.

    Are you running 64bit kernel?
  2. Hi guys, There are many posts about how to fix an "About This Mac" box which gets corrupted by OSX86Tools and none of them worked for me. First - I tried the AboutThisMac application - no luck Second - I tried the OSX86Tools restore technique: No luck there either. It turns out, to fix it I had to replace the AboutThisMac.strings from a working system. While this has been suggested in other threads and an AboutThisMac.strings file has even been provided, the file provided in those posts was bad. A Bad/outdated AboutThisMac.strings file begins with: The Good/updated AboutThisMac.strings file begins with: How To Fix It This can be just a tad tricky because you need to do some terminal work. FIRST STEP - Copy the attached AboutThisMac.strings.zip file to your desktop and uncompress it SECOND STEP 1. Open the Terminal App 2. run the following commands sudo -s cd /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/Resources cp ~/Desktop/AboutThisMac.strings . THIRD STEP - Log out, Log back in. YER DONE! PM Me if you run into any snags and good luck! AboutThisMac.strings.zip
  3. This didn't work for me. Disk Utility said something about not being able to scan the source. Doesnt' seem to like .iso files.
  4. [Trade] Skulltrail Mobo and CPUs

I'd rather just keep it all as a package.
  5. Hi guys, I've got a Skulltrail system here, motherboard (D5400XS) and two cpus (QX9775) that I'd like to trade for a new Unibody MacBook Pro. I'm located in Canada but will ship wherever necessary. Please PM if interested. Thanks!
  6. Hi Gang! Thanks to realityiswhere we managed to get a Skulltrail working great with Kalyway 10.5.2 It's an Intel D5400XS Mobo with two 9775 CPU's - NO Overclocking There are two pieces of 2G FBRAM which I had to MacGyver the heatsinks since I bought them for a MacPro not realizing just how big the darned heatsinks were. The RAM manufacturer (Techworks) was very friendly via email and they tried to be helpful but apparently the slim heatsinks would have to be ordered from Japan. I just took out the dremel tool and went to town (I'm either brave or dumb). I didn't need a working leopard install to get it going It's a vanilla kernel on nforce The original ATI X1950 Pro caused misery at first trying cpus=1 -x -v didn't do much so I replaced it with a Galaxy 8800GTS Here's some fun pics!
