  1. Sorry I did not want to bother you with my post. 2 cards and 4 monitors is not equal to 1 card and 3 monitors especially confirming a working mini displayport on a low cost Radeon 5770 - on my search I could not find anything reliable about that. It might be interesting to anybody looking for a alternative to these expensive mini display adapters - and thats what you have to face up to when buying a 27" cinema display.
  2. It works - triple display involving a 27" cinema display on a Hackintosh: 1) Have a working retail 10.6.5 installation using Chameleon_2.0_RC5_INSTALLER_r629 2) Insert your device ID into ATIRadeonX3000.kext and ATI5000Controller.kext (eg. 0x68B81002 for XFX Radeon HD 5770 single slot (with mini display port ;-)) 3) Add the following lines to your com.apple.Boot.plist <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>yes</string> <key>UseAtiROM</key> <string>Yes</string> 4) Copy the boot file out of the zip into your root (not sure if this is really necessary) http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=236926 5) Use Kext Utility 6) Insert your new XFX Radeon HD 5770 single slot into your Hackintosh and connect your 27" cinema display to the mdp proof: source used: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=236926
  3. After upgrading my system (OSX 10.6.1) from a Intel E6750 to a Intel Q9550 (E0) cpu I have got a kernel panic. There is no way to start the systems with any flag I tried. There is also a kernel panic during a potential new install (boot disk + OSX 10.6 retail-dvd) even after reseting the bios. If I go back to the E6750, the system is booting without any problems. My specs: Asus P5E-VM HDMI (Bios 0604) 8 GB Kingston DDR2 SDRAM 800 MHz (4 x 2GB) Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512MB (MSI Silent) Hitachi HDP725050GLA360 Did anybody else experience similar problems? Any kind of help is appreciated.
  4. any success on INTEL DQ35JO mobo?

I had the same probs with the DQ35JO which made me switch the mainboard to a GA P35 series. I installed 10.5.4 with no problems but a on different (smaller) sata disk. When I changed the disk back to the original disk (form the configuration of my DQ35JO-PC) the same errors occured with my new GA P35. So finally: IT IS THE DISK! Change the disk an DQ35JO will install.
