Sounds good. I'll do that and let you know how it went. Thank you for your time

Increase MBR Partition

Oh thanks Neil! Pretty simple. I used MBR cause I used to have a windows partition where the Lion now is. Using GUID won't give me issues booting correct? Thanks

Resize MBR partition

This is exactly what I need to do. I'm not very much for command line stuff so I need some guidance. I have installed Lion with the latest Chimera since my system won't boot with previous versions of Chameleon. What steps do I have to take? I know how to boot with the DVD and restore my .dmg image to the newly formatted drive, but what steps should I take after? More specifically, how/where do I specify the root disk (I do know how to find my root disk) and how do I re-install my version of Chimera? Thanks!

Increase MBR Partition

Background info: I have a 160GB hard drive for my system install. Formatted it to MBR for OSX86. I had Snow Leopard installed in a partition (half the disc) and had another partition ready for Lion install. I was able to install Lion (using iAtkos L1, 10.7.2 combo update, Chimera 1.4.5, #####, etc.) successfully on the second partition so I proceeded to delete everything in the partition I had for Snow Leopard. Problem: I want to expand the Lion partition to the unused space from the left over partition but apparently you can't do that with MBR HFS+ disks. The one solution I found that I believe should work is the following: Make a disk image of my Lion partition and save it to an external drive. Reformat the startup disk to have only one partition and then restore the image to that disk (either with the iAtkos DVD or with gparted). It all sounds somewhat straightforward but I don't know if this will work. I'm afraid if "just" restoring the disk image to the newly formatted drive will actually work. Should my system boot normally after, without any extra installs, or will I have to re-install Chimere 1.4.5 and everything else? I'd appreciate if anyone could confirm if this will work.
5. After who knows how many attempts at installing Lion I was able to do it successfully with everything working (but sleep). I tried just about everything and found the only formula I could get working myself. Long story short: I decided to clean my drive and removed Snow Leopard but couldn´t boot into Iatkos L1 no matter what I tried. After some frustration I decided to re-install SL. Once I did I tried to boot into iAtkos L1 and somehow it worked. I was able to installed Lion in another partition to be safe. When I saw it was all working.. I deleted the SL partition and boom... I couldn´t boot into Lion anymore. What I ended up doing is having both SL and Lion installed in the same disk with different partitions and it works fine. What I need to know is how to remove my SL partition without removing the ability to boot into Lion. Info: I used iAtkos L1, updated to 10.7.2 with combo and used ##### to install drivers and chimera. Asrock G31M-S motherboard, Core 2 Duo 1.79GHz, 4GB Ram, Evga g-force 8800GT 1GB.

iATKOS S3 v2 on AsRock G31M-S R2.0

I was able to install. I booted from the DVD with "-v -x CPUS=2". You'll have to be patient though. I let it run with verbose mode and waited even with it wouldn't move forward. Eventually it boot from the DVD to give me the install dialog.
8. I also have a Dell XPS m1530. I have everything ready and was able to boot to the Snow Leopard disk.. BUT, once i´m in it tells me OS X Can´t Be Installed on This Computer. Any ideas on where I should go from here?
9. I've been looking all over for help on getting the install DVD to boot into install. I know it's not my motherboard or setup since I already had OS X 10.5.2 running a couple of months back. I just need some guidance on where to go to solve this problem. Here's a screenshot of what I get: http://cl.ly/5a687359c5736041d92f http://cl.ly/bdd9de61297f89e07913 This is my system setup: HP m7730la Media Center Motherboard: ASUS P5LP-LE (Leonite) Chipset: Intel 945G Southbridge: IHC7 CPU: Pentium D 820 2.8GHz, 775 socket RAM: 4GB DDR2 Graphics: nVidia GeForce 8600 1GB (mobo has Intel GMA 950) Could removing the graphics card help? (i didn't have it in when i was using kalyway 10.5.2). What else can I do to troubleshoot this?
10. I can't seem to get the Install DVD to boot. I keep getting errors and after a while the computer just shuts off. I've been looking for help with no success. Getting Started on ASUS 5PLP-LE

I have a very similiar setup and I used Kalyway 10.5.2 install and it works great. I still haven't been able to update to 10.5.7 but i'm looking into it. Try Kalyway 10.5.2, it should work. If you get stuck send me a private message and i'll try to help as best as I can.

Wifi Link 5100 or Marvel 88E8055

I'm still a bit new at OSX86. I installed Leopard on my HP Pavilion desktop and got the ethernet and video working with some step by step instructions I found on this forum. I now installed Leopard (using Kalyway 10.5.2) on a friends' VAIO (VGN-DW290) with the same DVD and it works. I just can't get both of these to work (the Wifi Link 5100 and Marvel 88E8055). MacOff, you provide a link to the IONetworkingFamily kext, but I'm not sure how to install it. Replacing it won't work cause it gives me an error and repairing disk permissions won't solve it. I had to replace it with the original one to get rid of the error. Can you explain how to install that kext you provided? I've been looking online but can't find anything usefull for newbies! Edit: Maybe if I use Kext Helper Edit: I installed the kext and I got ethernet working thanks!!!! nothing on wireless yet
15. I was never able to solve the issue.. I just re-installed Kalyway 10.5.2 on top and repatched all of the files I had to patch (usb and ethernet issues).
