  1. Ok, i think i've tried enough I need help getting my Internal Mic working correctly. I've managed to do correctly the Speakers, Headphones and Mic Detection, but the slider of Internal Mic it just don't appears. I've tried the fix from TheEnthusiast, but i don't manage to get it working correctly. Can you help me to take a look on this or to give me some additional steps to work it out? Cheers ^^ P.S: I attached all the files that i've modified and used to make the patch to the point i've actually worked them. Inspiron14z-IDT92HD91BXX.zip

    Clover General discussion

Well, i don't know where to put this, but i hope you can help me ^^ I'm trying to use Clover in a Inspiron 14z (5423) with an Aptio bios. I've always had some problems booting in UEFI with anything that wasn't Windows (I also have ArchLinux, and just in the last revisions of grub, they've "middle-sorted" this problem out). I'm initially trying clover from an USB, but, indifferently from the boot method (MBR, or UEFI boot) it is always the same result. Clover loads, then i select the OS X entry, and then it just restarts the machine. I'm using the Aptio driver, but i think it's not working. Also using the "slide=0" argument. Any suggestions? Cheers ^^ P.S: Oh yeah, sometimes at "cold booting" with the USB with clover, it appears a window of UEFI Diagnostics from Dell, maybe they do a different Memory Mapping and this is causing the sudden appearance.
  3. Well, i have more time now to test an installation. Lets resume what i got to the moment: 1.- I've actually managed to boot correctly the usb installer and to install ML on my Inspiron 14z 5423. I've used GenericUSB3 kext and VoodooPS2 for getting usb boot and Mouse/Keyboard working. 2.- On 10.8, Intel HD4000 Graphics load correctly using an EFI-String 7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000003006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31 3.- I've updated to 10.8.3. Since that, i cannot boot on "Normal" mode. Just on Safe Mode. (On Normal Mode the last line shows an error about Sandbox deny mach-lookup com.apple.coresymbolicationd) 4.- Also, i've run ssdtPRGen and configured org.chameleon.boot.plist to drop SSDT. I'm using a MBP 9.2 smbios. 5.- I have not yet edited or patched my DSDT with something in particular. Should I patch to consider anything? 6.- I don't have sound, neither Wifi, or Ethernet working. Webcam works normally. Bluetooth seems to work, but i haven't tested it yet. 7.- My laptop came with a hybrid graphics set (HD4000/Ati HD 7570M). Is there a way to get both working, or at least, to shut down the Ati, like in Linux, for example? Thanks for help.
  4. It isn't possible to disable the dedicated graphics on BIOS, but i'll try using GraphicsEnabler=No and post the results.
  5. Hi all I'm watching this thread since i have a very similar configuration. What i need to make work Os X on my laptop, apart of the Extra, DSDT mods, and Fixes to USB3 and HDA? There are subtle changes between the configuration on this post and my configuration (a PCI bridge for PCI-Ex and the AMD Radeon 7570 [that is a Muxless one]). Do you think it could work? I really don't care if the AMD one doesn't works. With the integrated one from Intel is fine.
  6. Hi all. I'm trying to make a Mountain Lion installation over my Inspiron 14z, but i'm facing a lot of troubles to make it work. Installer didn't pass from "Waiting from root device", loading from a USB driver. I'm using ###### to generate the USB with ML. All ports in laptop are USB3. Laptop has hybrid-graphics, muxless. I don't have an idea if both can work, but in case that's not possible, i would suffice using the Intel HD 4000. I've tried using -v -f USBFix=Yes GraphicsEnabler=No, but the only thing i get is the "Waiting for root device" error. BIOS is updated to the last version available at Dell. Using UEFI with Legacy Mode Enabled. What i'm doing wrong here? X3 P.S: Attached are a lspci (-nn) output, and SSDT's / DSDT tables, so you can check in a greater detail a probable solution. AnVAL (ACPI Loader)

Well. I've tried with Netkas Exotic Cards with no success on Full Resolution or QE/CI. I tried today another strategy for Full Resolution. Here the steps: 1.- Download ATY_Init.kext for Snow Leopard. Put in S/L/E. 2.- Get your Leopard ATINDRV and ATIRNDRV kexts and copy to S/L/E. 3.- Disable GraphicsEnabler from /Extras/com.apple.boot.plist 4.- Move or remove ATISupport and ATIFramebuffer kexts from S/L/E. 5.- Repair permissions and regenerate caches. 6.- Restart. Now i have Full Resolution Changing, but no QE/CI. AnVAL (ACPI Loader)

Ok, i tried loading manually that Kext. It does nothing. Another thing i noted is that GraphicResolution > 1280x1024 just got stucked on 1152x864 on OS X. One more thing. When i load on GraphicResolution = 1440x900, sometimes it gives 3 "SLOT-1 entry " on logs. I will try tomorrow with Exotic from Netkas. (Right now i have some 10.6.7 MBP Early 2011 ATI Kexts).

Sorry for late response. I got lost on the limbo Trying this time with some slightly different configuration: * CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T * Mobo: Gigabyte GA-GPA890-UD3H Rev 2.1 * RAM: 4GB Adata XPG * Graphics: Radeon HD 3650 PowerColor 512MB * Snow Leopard 10.6.7 * Kernel: Legacy Kernel 10.6.7 * Boot flags: busratio=16 arch=i386 -force64 * SMBios: IMac 11.1 * Bootloader: Last version of AnVaL ACPI I will try both and post the results here.

    AnVAL (ACPI Loader)

Hi all :3 In first place, awesome work Valv. Some days ago i lost all hopes on getting 1440x900 resolution on my monitor. Today, on a "Google-searching time", reached this loader, and some minutes later, i got the native res for my card. Thank you very much. In a second place, is possible to have QE/CI enabled on a HD3650(PowerColor PCIe Radeon HD 3650, 512MB DDR2) using Snow Leopard (10.6.5 updated)? This works full QE/CI on Leopard 10.5.7. Is the only thing I need to get on work on Snow OS X. (Curious thing on Kexts. On 1280x1024x32, it loads ATIFramebuffer.kext, while on 1440x900x32, it just doesn't load) Thank you very much, keep the great work on AnVAL :3 (P.s: Checking on dmesg output, i just get this: ATY,Megalodon: Not usable ATY,Megalodon: Not usable )
