  1. I'm using OS X in VB for a while now, under Ubuntu 64 bit and Windows 7 64 Bit and even under Mac OS X itself. I am accessing it from the ipad via Temviewer most of the time, so i have a real Mac OS X on my iPad :-) VirtualBox 4.3.8 does not work. I tried all possible options, with and without EFI (chamelon) with my exisiting Mavericks VDI. I had to reinstall VirtualBox 4.3.6, wich is still available on the VirtualBox homepage, to get it running again.
  2. @rockinron_1 Wow, thank you. That worked too. Everything is wokring perfectly now. The best Mac i ever had :-)
  3. thanx a lot. Works perfect on my Sandy Bridge i5 System with Nvidia GTX 560 and ALC 662 Audio. I just needed to install additional Kexts for ALC662 from osx86.net. The graphics is now much much faster with the out of the box driver from apple. But i can't access the app store and can't execute apps downloaded from the app store with 10.7.4. It says my computer isn't recognized. Is there a soluten to use the app store?

The Apple Updater offers 10.5.8 now. Does ist work like the 10.5.7. upgrade? Or is it dangerous to do the update on the hp 550
  5. hi, i have the following system: - Asrock 4Core VSTA Mainboard (VIA PT800/894 Chipset) - Intel Core2Duo E6600 - 2GB DDR2 RAM - Geforce 9800GT - Netgear WG111V3 USB WLAN Stick - 1TB SATA HDD with Win XP & Linux & Data Partition formatted with NTFS - 160GB IDE HDD with Mac OS 10.5.7 (iPC10.5.6, updated to 10.5.7) Everything is working perfect. I had to change some BIOS Settings for PCI-E to get the 9800GT working. I'm using the voodoo kernel, because the vanilla kernel is not working with the asrock board. The NTFS partitions on the SATA Drive are recognized correctly. I can read and write files to that partions using ntfs-3g. But there is a strange problem when reading or wrting a large amount of data. The drive stops responding after a while and the internet connection is no longer available. A shutdown is also not possible. So i think the problem is located in the via chipset driver. I used the one which came with the iPC 10.5.6 release. Is there another driver available (for the voodoo kernel) or should i change bios settings to get the SATA drive to work? The problem occurs when i try to index mp3 files with iTunes or Plex or XBMC. Btw. The problem was in 10.5.6 too, so it has nothing to do with the update. Thanks for any advice. P.S.: Sorry for my bad english.

Hmm, my Laptop runs now for two hours. It plays music with itunes in the background and surfing the web. The fan is quite so far. The fan starts only if i use cpu od gpu intensive apps. Then it is really loud for a few seconds. So i can live with it. I have installed iPC 15.5.6 with the 10.5.7 upgrade also on my desktop. This is a much faster machine (core2Duo, nvidia9800gt). So i use cpu/gpu intensive apps on the desktop only.
  7. [Guide] Hackintosh on HP 550 Notebook

Well,..i didn't :-) The Battery smybol was gone with 10.5.7 upgrade. I was too lazy zu restore it. I don't care about it, because i don't need long runs on battery power. When i take the laptop away, i have always the ac power suppy in use. I have also a 12v laptop charger in my car :-)

Thanks for the hint with LiquidCD. Well, i don't have problems with sleep mode. I don't have any power management installed. When i am away for some time, the display goes to black and the power led is blinking. When i hit on power, the system comes back in a very short time (3-5 sec.). The fan: My System can not control the fan with variable rpm's. The fan is completly off and starts with full speed (noisy) when the system gehts to hot. But only for a few seconds. I have a dual boot system with linux mint 7. So i can do everything that don't work on os x with Linux (which works perfect on the hp 550). Both systems are sharing a large data partition which is formatted with ntfs.

i have a little issue: I tried to burn an audio cd with iTunes and gut the error mesage "device not responding, retry no possible". Is there a driver for the biuld in CD/DVD Writer?
  10. [Guide] Hackintosh on HP 550 Notebook

thanks again for all your help and all your instructions!! After a nother reinstall i upgraded with the combo update to 10.5.7. I had to reinstall the broadcom driver and than installed the graphics and audio drivers (still using the drivers from the package). The sonund is ok this time. I habe a huge volume difference between quicktime (video) and iTunes (mp3). Everything else works great now. I added the usb fix with this installation and the system profiler shows now a high speed usb host. I am very happy with this installation :-) It's time now to try the same thing on my desktop :-p
  11. [Guide] Hackintosh on HP 550 Notebook

wow, thanks a lot for your great work. i made a reinstall yesterday without the ich driver and everything is working now. I still used the audio drivers from the driver pack and followed the instructions in the guide. This the sound quality is much better (not 100% clear, but this seems to have something to do with the vilume settings). The Laptop was on AC power all the time. I disconnected ac to see if something changed, but there was no difference. At the moment i have the following: - Working Graphics in 1280x800. Flash Videos are ok (not as fast as windows, but much better than ubuntu 9.04), Google Earth works perfectly (its not useable under ubuntu 9.04, because the Intel Video Driver has a bug in the current version) - Sound is ok (but could be better. Its not clear when volume is set to 100%) - USB is working, but not USB 2.0? - Card Reader works perfect - WLAN works perfect - Trackpad works, but without the scrollarea on the right side (i did not install the additional drivers from the guide so far) - Bluetooth is working (Noname USB Dongle) One stupid question: How do i upgrade to 10.5.7? With the Apple Upate Service? Or is there a Guide how to do this?
  12. [Guide] Hackintosh on HP 550 Notebook

Hi, thanks for the great guide. I have an HP 550 with Celereon M 550@2,00GHz. I tried iDeneb 1.4 and forgot to click on customize. After that installation i had the following: - pretty fast boot- and shutdown time - graphics in 1024x768, but really fast and smooth - working hard disk access - working usb devices (Mouse, USB Stick and Bluetooth Dongle) - working trackpad - no sound - no wlan So i did a reinstall and just selected the broadcom driver to get wlan. But wlan didn't work. Then i discovered this guide. I made a fresh install with iPC 10.5.6 Final and followed exactly the instructions in this guide. After the first reboot i got wlan, but no USB (no mouse, no access to the stick, no bluetooth). Boot and shut down times are much slower then with iDeneb 1.4 After a complete shut down i got back USB (mouse, stick and bluetooth working). So i installed sound and video as described in the guide. After the reboot i got the full resolution for the first time. Sound is working, but in very poor quality. It sounds like an broken old radio with my logitech sound system! USB is gone now forever (i turned of the computer serveral times) So my question: Is the ICH Chipset driver really nessecary? Deneb worked fine without it! How can i improve the poor sound quality? Thanks alot!
  13. New AGPGart

Thanks a lot! Finder shows this Folder als a file which i can't open. In Terminal i can open the Folder and the Info.plist The FAQ says: You must edit it to <key>Personality</key> <dict> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOFramebuffer</string> </dict> These lines are already in the Info.plist Is there any other solution?
  14. New AGPGart

sorry, i forget to mention: The FAQ says: "1. Look GA.plugin/info.plist. You must edit it to..." Sorry, but i don't find a GA.plugin Folder. I have a Folder "AGPGart.kext. Inside is a Folder "Contents" with a File called "Info.plist" and a Subfolder Resources which contains also a file Info.plist. Which one have to be modified? "2. Aperture size must be 64Mb or 128Mb. Else - software QE only!" Is this a BIOS Setting, or a setting inside of AGPGart or somewhere else? Sorry for my stupid questions.
  15. New AGPGart
