  1. Thanks verdant, quick response time as always I tried MeDevil's AppleNForceATA_Test kext and was able to read (very cool) but not able to burn, using a SATA DVDRW. I wonder what it takes to get SATA DVDRW's to read AND burn.
  2. Not working on the following system: NForce 680i, SATA HDD, SATA DVDRW, 10.6.2 Stuck at "Waiting for boot device"
  3. Which AppleNForceATA kext are people using where SATA DVDRW read/burn is working? Recently picked up an Optiarc 7240S SATA DVDRW but unable to get it working with an Nforce 680i and 10.6.2. A Pioneer PATA DVDRW reads/burns, but the Optiarc SATA DVDRW does not read nor burn. I've tried AnV's AppleNForceATA.kext and wasn't able to boot at all -- was stuck at "waiting for root device". I've tried a few versions of AppleNForceATA.kext but none would work. I've tried setting the DVDRW in a SATA port before and after the two HDDs. Unsure if it makes a difference, but current SATA ports setup is: SATA 0 = DVDRW 0 SATA 1 = HDD 0 SATA 2 = HDD 1

  5. verdant, sorry for the slow response, PATA DVDRW is working in 10.6.1. Just burned an audio CD. I'm not too surprised though, since it was working in Leopard...quite well I must add. This is with the aforementioned slashack's AppleNForceATA.kext.
  6. Magic Mouse software is finally released for 10.5.8 and 10.6.1 users. Supposedly the upcoming 10.6.2 update will have native Magic Mouse support.   7. MPlayer OSX Extended w/ "Use multithreaded ffmpeg build" enabled in Preferences works better than VLC (crashes, unusable) and Movist for me. Would prefer VLC working =/

    Tried the IOAHCIFamily.kext from the "update" and SL froze. Reverted back to the original IOAHCIFamily.kext.
  9. Great! The OpenCL tool is pretty cool, and I finally understand that only certain apps use Quartz GL. I re-generated the GFX EFI string in SL, and it turned out to be different than the one I generated in L, so I updated the boot.plists. I have QE/CI/OpenCL. For audio, I'm using VoodooHDA.kext 0.2.2 by the Voodoo team: http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,139.0.html Looks like everything works. Me = You the man, verdant EDIT: Should I be concerned if I score a higher XBench in 10.5.8 than 10.6.1? It's almost a 30 point difference when tested w/ HDD unchecked/disabled
