  1. That's what I burned it with PowerISO at x4 speed first time then I burned another at x2 speed same results. Is there any certain things I should check in the custom part before the installation? The only thing I checked was the nVidia one since that's what my graphics card is all the rest I left alone. Maybe I'm missing something. The DVD's I am using is Memorex DVD+RW 4.7GB 4x write speed max. I've tried with and without the ModCD. I also downloaded the iso from kickasstorrents twice to make sure something didn't go wrong with the download. It's always the same result. When the installation is finished I get a gray screen with the traditional apple loading icon it goes around a few times and after some seconds it freezes and doesn't move anymore and the whole system locks up. I have to hold my power button down till the machine turns off.
  2. I've been trying to install a version of hackintosh called iATKOS S3 for a few days now and having a really hard time getting it installed. I've used ModCD and without ModCD and having no luck. I've been trying Leopard mainly because I don't have any duel layer DVD's laying around where I can get a copy of Mountain Lion. I've had Snow Leopard installed on my pc a couple years ago but was having major issues with my wireless card not installing so I ended up re-installing windows back. I've never really had the opportunity to experience Mac OS X since I've always been an AMD fan. My machine is kind of old but from what I read online with hardware specs and such it seems like my system shouldn't have any issues installing Mac OS X. Maybe you guys can help me out. Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H AMD 690G - Chipset AMD Athlon 64 X2, 3.0 Mhz G.Skill 4 GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce GT 440 Realtek ALC889A - Audio Realtek RTL8169/8110 - LAN I ran rd(0,0)/Extra/modbin_kernel or whatever the command was on the ModCD bootloader but during the installation it told me there was an error around 90% or something. It never would finish the installation. If I installed it without the ModCD it would install everything and after it would go to a really dark gray looking screen with the progress thing and after a little while the progress thing would just lock up. It would never get past that. When I try to reboot I'd get a boot error after my bios posted. It messed up my MBR every time I tried. I've tried this installation a lot of times with no luck. I've been trying to duel boot with windows 7. Every time it fails I have to put in my windows dvd and fix my MBR to even get my pc back in working order. Could use some help if someone could give me some suggestions. I don't mind downloading a different version of hackintosh I know there is a lot of different versions and I really didn't know which one to pick before I tried all this. If I like mac os x I'm planning on building an i5 system that is fully compatible with a retail copy. So I may end up buying if I like it.
  3. I installed this version of OS X to my desktop. It's an older model desktop dual core AMD. I had no issues at all installing everything went perfect. I got into OS X and it asked me to set up a few things and then threw me to my desktop. After getting in I looked around to see if my wireless card got installed and I didn't find it installed so I got on my laptop and downloaded the RT73 drivers. I installed them to the OS X everything installed the UI loaded it asked me what network I wanted to connect to I choose my network put in my network key and it connected and even said my signal is great but it won't access the internet period. IT shows me on the network like everything is good but I can't do updates, I can't browse the net with firefox it won't do anything on the internet period. I checked the firewall to see if maybe it was turned on paranoid or something by default and it wasn't it was set to allow all incoming packets by default. I have no idea why my internet isn't working I need to see if my video, etc drivers show up in the updates so I can get my os all set up but I can't access the internet. Does anyone have any ideas for me to try?
  4. I've installed this version of mac on my dell E1405. Installation went just fine then rebooted and got to the grey apple screen right before the welcome screen I assume. Then my screen goes black and I see nothing. Well from what I read in the readme file that is graphics problems. So I followed the instructions and typed -s at the darwin prompt. I got to the root login where it told me to type in mount -uw / and then /movevideodrivers after this it says I will be prompted whether I want to move them or not type yes if I do or enter to skip. Well I typed in mount -uw /movevideodrivers and get this error mount: unknown special file or file system /movevideodrivers So then I tried typing mount -uw / and then hitting enter and then typing /movevideodrivers and got this error /movevideodrivers: No such file or directory So then I try mount -uw / /movevideodrivers and get this error mount: realpath /movevideodrivers: No such file or directory Ok so I tried this command in many ways because honestly I have no clue what this person is trying to tell me to type in. I need some help here if I am not typing the right command can someone tell me what I need to type. I'm clueless on this and beside the video not working it seems everything else is fine. I can see my hard drive light going at it like it's loading ocx but I can't see nothing but a black screen. I need some assistance thanks. My graphics card is the GMA950 from what I remember.

  8. I have a Dell Inspiron E1405 I think it's also called a 640m or something of the other but my laptop shows E1405 on it. I installed 2 gigs of G.skill PC2 5300 memory the best memory I could find for this laptop on it so besides that nothing has been touched. I know my laptop supports sse3 I ran cpuz before I even attempted to download a copy of this Leo4Allv3. MD5 checksum: 48b3bea091a9247238b6534098e102f9. All the loading goes fine and I get to the welcome screen to accept the agreement and continue with the installation. I pick a partition to install on erase it and then create a new partition. Once I'm out of the disk utility I choose that partition after it asks me where to install and I click continue. This is where it goes to the next screen where it varifies the contents of the dvd to make sure everything is right before install I suppose. Well as soon as it starts to read it says it can't verify the contents and asks me to reboot. This is the 6th or 7th time I've reburned this dvd from two different iso images I download and I'm getting the same message. I thought the first iso might have gotten corrupt but it opened in poweriso and burned in poweriso just fine. I even tried burning it with nero and a couple other programs. I also tried at different speeds thinking it needed to be burned slow. Slowest speed was 4x so shouldn't have been no problem. When I burned with nero I asked nero to check the whole dvd after it was burned to make sure all contents were fine each time I burned it and everything went smooth on the burn. I dunno what the problem is. I thought well maybe my cd-rom is going bad or something of that sort but it installs vista, any linux distro just fine. I've installed many on this laptop playing around and this is the first time I have had something tell me it can't read. I've never been able to install mac on any of my other machines because of compatibilty but from the stats of my machine it seems all the hardware is just fine. Just some reason it won't read the contents of the dvd and if I tell it to skip that step it starts to install and it doesn't get far before it says it can't read again and stops. I dunno what is going on I thought you guys may be able to help me out here. I'd greatly appreciate it.
