ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 now WORKS CI/QE !

Hi Sekhar, I too have an HP 6910p with ATI X2300 graphics card, but have been unable to get QE or CI hardware supported. So I`m quite surprised that you have gotten this far with your graphics card. Could you post any relevant kexts you used to accomplish this. I`d greatly appreciate your help.
  2. ahh, thanks. Didn't bother reading through their {censored}..
  3. http://sourceforge.net/projects/realtekr1000/ ??????? But anyway, as much as I don`t really approve of Psystar, it`s a simple case of supply and demand (taking simplification to an extreme). If nobody wanted to buy clones, they would go out of business for a lack of customers. I much rather prefer OS X enthusiasts to build their own hackintoshes and work through bugs and errors. This way, they become more knowledgeable about the workings of their hardware and can contribute their findings to the community.
  4. So I think the crux of this whole fiasco will center on whether the court will accept that Apple's EULA constitutes a contract or not. When you agree to install OS X, you're agreeing to install it on Apple Hardware only, and you cannot circumvent it without violating the EULA. I hate the fact that EULA is non-negotiated and you're forced to swallow it whether you like the terms or not (if you want to install the software), but I have a feeling that the court will recognize Apple's EULA as legally binding. On the other hand, I'm not too sure what to make of Psystar's copyright defense; Apple is known to patent and copyright the hell out of things it doesn't really even own, so this defense is rather odd...

    Windows sucks

Yes, but be careful. It's a Paris Hilton doll from her new line called "Skanque". Now available with a wide range of STD's.

    My Compaq 6910p woes

Ahh man, I wish I could rip the x2300 card out and put a more compatible one in :/ Friggin thing will not run. Somebody who's knowledgeable in Linux could create a dump and port over the driver to Unix, and I hope a genius would be nice enough to do that lol.

Solution is not working on my HP Compaq 6910p. Tried modifying the various kexts to suit my device_ID 0x7188, but no go. This card is really beginning to irk me.

    My Compaq 6910p woes

Read up around on the forums first to get an idea of what to do expect, and farmiliarize yourself with what will come. I would recommend disabling certain devices, especially firewire, to get the setup going. Make sure that your HD is in IDE, not SATA, that should help. I installed iDeneb 10.5.5, and personally, I went thru hell getting it to run. Even still, I had to wait 10 minutes stuck on the installer loading screen before it magically proceeded by itself, so be patient. Good luck.

    My Compaq 6910p woes

Well the attempt was a failure. The installation refused to recognize my SATA HDD no matter what I tired. I also somehow lost my Windows boot information, and ended up having to do a clean install. Someone in another thread (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=64217&hl=6910p#) claimed that the Kalyway install worked to a certain extent for them, so I'm going to give that a shot.

    My Compaq 6910p woes

I'm going to try out uphucks release and see if it works on my 6910p. I was hoping installing OSX on this laptop would be a breeze, but here's to hoping for the best
