Intermittent panic on wakeup, desperate for help

I wonder if anyone is successfully running a socket 1150 motherboard on Mojave? If they are, I'd be curious to hear which models work. I'd hate to be stuck on Sierra indefinitely.
  2. Hey guys, I just can't for the life of me figure out my sleep issues. To start, I'm using i7 4770K, 16GB RAM, Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H, RX 560 (Asus). I had been using Sierra using tonymacx86 instructions for a couple years and my system worked flawlessly. Initially, it would either fail to sleep (wakeup immediately after sleep) or would crash on wake. After messing with darkwake settings (I think I had it set to 2), sleep worked perfect. Then I upgraded to Mojave, and that's where stuff has gone very south. First I used a fresh, vanilla install using a guide on the reddit Hackintosh community. Worked perfect, but intermittent kernel panics on wake. Then I came here and did a custom DSDT thanks to a very awesome user, @MaLd0n. The intermittent panics would persist. So then I used Mald0n's Mojave guide, and the custom DSDT and clover folder, and same problem. Where things currently stand, I would say the computer sleeps perfect about 2/3 of the time. The other 1/3 of the time, it wakes up but there is no signal going to the monitor, and the HD activity light doesn't blink or anything. After a reboot, I get a message about recovering from a panic. I've once again messed with darkwake settings, ranging from no darkwake, darkwake=0, darkwake=1, 2, 3, 10, etc. Same problem. I am now running Mojave 10.14.4, but have tried 10.14.3 as well. Before I wipe this thing out and consider myself stuck at staying on Sierra, I'm hoping to make one last effort. I've been pulling my hair out. Any pointers would be amazing! What kind of info can I supply? Here's the most recent error report on reboot, FYI: Wed Apr 24 11:35:22 2019 *** Panic Report *** panic(cpu 3 caller 0xffffff801e6dd16d): Kernel trap at 0xffffff801e5ad330, type 14=page fault, Intermittent panic on wakeup, desperate for help

Thank you for the reply! I'll skip the High Sierra trial and just roll back to Sierra. I wonder if it's the motherboard and maybe I could pick something up on the used market. I'm thinking maybe I'll skip that though since I already swapped my Nvidia card for AMD to work with Mojave. D'oh.

    Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H with i7 4770K

Hey guys. So quick background. I have a hackintosh using Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H, i7 4770K, RX 560 GPU, 16GB RAM. I had been on Sierra for years and everything worked perfect, including all USB ports and sleep functions. I then updated to Mojave and now sleep functions are all messed up. Sometimes it wakes fine, sometimes it never wakes up or crashes / reboots when trying to sleep. Once this occurred, I decided to start over using the vanilla guide for Haswell chipsets seen here: https://hackintosh.gitbook.io/-r-hackintosh-vanilla-desktop-guide/config.plist-per-hardware/haswell While this improved startup / shutdown speeds, it didn't fix my sleep issues. My kexts are AppleIntelE1000e.kext, FameSMC.kext, Lilu.kext, NoVPAJpeg.kext, USBInjectrAll.kext, and WhateverGreen.kext. I have Power Nap disabled, and have "Put hard drives to sleep when possible" enabled. I posted this question on Reddit and a user mentioned I need to get a DSDT / SSDT to get this working correctly. Any pointers on how to obtain this, or other next steps?

Hey @MaLd0n. So I tried to update to 10.14.4 using your guide but I would get no graphics with boot. So I went back to the vanilla guide on Reddit, using 10.14.4, and boot up fine, everything works including all USB ports. The only thing is I'm still having the problem I have had all along... The hackintosh crashes about 1/5 of the time when trying to wake up. I have tried messing with darkwake settings, and have disabled powernap. I am now using the DSDT you made for me. Can you verify that everything looks ok on the RunMe? Send me Seans-iMac.zip

Thanks @MaLd0n. I used the guide that you linked, installed the Olarila Mojave 10.14.4, and used the Clover setup for Haswell on your walkthrough. Boots fine through USB, but when I remove USB, it goes from the Apple logo to a black screen. I rebooted with the USB stick again, and this time used the custom Clover folder you gave me above, and same problem... goes from Clover bootloader to Apple logo to black screen. Any thoughts?

Thank you @MaLd0n. Just to be certain, should I use the custom DSDT you made me during this fresh install using the link you provided?

I re-added change XHC1 to XHC and change XHCI to XHC back into the patches section, and got one pair of USB ports in the back, but I don't have the USB header or the other pairs on the motherboard back. Any pointers?

@MaLd0n, question for you. I'm finding that no USB 3 devices work anymore. Any pointers?

    Can't delete files from trash

Ok this is kind of silly. Running Mojave on an i7 4770K, Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H, RX 560 system. Using vanilla clover and custom DSDT from Mald0n. I have a profile for myself, and one for my wife. When reconfiguring clover for vanilla settings, both of our iMessage accounts developed issues, probably because a new serial was generated. iMessage would quit unexpectedly on both of our accounts. I deleted my iMessage plist, logged out of iCloud and then back in and it was fixed. For my wife's account, nothing I could do would fix the issue. I deleted all related plists, as well as the messages and attachments associated with iMessage, logged out and back in to iCloud, but the problem persisted. So I created a new MacOS profile, and transferred her data from the old profile to the new profile and deleted the old profile. Everything works great now, except in the process of transferring her data to the new profile, there was an old folder within iTunes for podcasts that I am trying to delete, and I can't empty the trash can because this folder is apparently in use. I have tried a bunch of different methods to delete this. I have changed permissions so that I can read-write. I went into single user mode, browsed to the trash can and tried to delete the contents, but it would say that the files are read-only. I tried using chmod in single user mode and still get read only error. I can't boot into safe mode using -x, as it just shuts the computer down (error is boot task failed fsck-safe). I transferred the contents of the trashcan on my wife's account to my own local account and attempted to delete it that way, and it's all still apparently in use. I have tried using lsof on the folders in the trash but it returns no listings. I've tried booting into the recovery partition and running first aid, but I get an error saying it can't unmount my Macintosh HD partition. This is a long winded way of asking how in the heck I can delete contents within the trashcan claiming to be in use. Some of these are empty folders that definitely are not in use by any program. I'm really hoping my Hack is not corrupted. :/ Any pointers??

Thank you so much, you are amazing. The computer starts up and shuts down so fast now. Here's to hoping sleep works. Enjoy the beer my friend!
