  1. Drivers for Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT - Success

could you upload the driver pack again to maybe speedyshare.com? i'd like to try your drivers also thanks
  2. PCI video options, PNY 8400?

I have a sparkle 9400GT PCI card which is working, but it f*cks up the system, it's alot slower than before and it freezes after like 10 minutes. if anyone has any info that they can share it'd be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone knows a guide to install snow leopard on an Intel D945GCLF2 board with this card i'd be happy to hear from them! read my install instructions for the sparkle card here
  3. Drivers for Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT - Success

since you have the same vendor and device ID's as my card, have you tried my method, or the kexts I used?
  4. Drivers for Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT - Success

ok so I got the sparkle 9400 GT 1GB PCI running. There's still no smooth sailing. I'm still figuring out wether it's the heat that can't get out or just not the optimal OS version, it could also be either of the following: -the PCI interface. -my PSU that only provides 120 watts. -the fact that it runs pretty hot, due to lack of airflow. (I put a fan in front of the card and it does run better now, but still the system isn't as stable as it was. Sleep, Restart and Shutdown work most of the time. No kernel panics, but the system freezes up sometimes after a high cpu load. If anyone knows a tool to retrieve the system power consumption by device i could maybe get a better understanding. Here's how I did it, if anyone has any other advice or experience I'd appreciate a PM so i can experiment more and edit this post with my experiences. 1) Install ipc 10.5.6, for my board this was the best distro, check out this topic 2) I Used the nvidia & geforce kexts from the 10.5.8 update 3) add EFI string with OSX86 tools. You can find exact directions on how to do so in post #31 of this topic. Select GFX string -> at the bottom of the model list select Custom -> name: nVidia GeForce 9400GT -> Memory: 1024GB -> DVI-I / VGA. I did this to be safe, but ended up removing the efi string and found out it didn't cause any crashes, benchmarks remained unchanged and still score around 30 in the xbench benchmarks 4) after that I installed a modded NVinject 0.2.1 for 512MB i found on the forums 5) reboot, maybe with -v -f just to be sure 6) Sucess! system profiler also gives it the right name and values, except for interface, should be PCI and the memory size, should be 1024MB nVIDIA GeForce 9400GT: Chipset Model: nVIDIA GeForce 9400GT Type: Display Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x1 VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0641 Revision ID: 0x00a1 ROM Revision: NVinject 0.2.1 Displays: LG TV: Resolution: 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Hardware Accelerated Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Supported Rotation: Supported Interlaced: Yes Display Connector: Status: No display connected Apparently, it also works with this kext by netkas, although the benchmarks are worse it does show all the memory in system profiler. Credit goes to member broken for giving me some help with this one. Haven't tried it without the EFI string yet, but the system was more useful with the edited NVinject kext, so I'm going back to experimenting with that one. I'm running 10.5.6 iPC ppf5 on an intel d945GCLF2 board, but most of the info in my signature should still be accurate. if anyone else has experiences with this model I'd greatly appreciate your input. Here's the kext I used that worked: http://www.speedyshare.com/958111310.html
  5. thinking about ordering this (see below), would it work, you think? I have a D945GCLF2 board, currently an Ati HD2400 pro PCI in it, but even with all the methods I could find on the net and this forum don't seem to be working (only have a blue screen currently) I can still return it so I think I'm going to do that and get either one of the cards below, 'cause basically I think they'll be less of a hassle: -Sparkle SP94GT1024D2L-HPP GeForce 9400 GT 1024MB PCI -Sparkle SF-PC84GS256U2LP-P GeForce 8400 GS 256 MB PCI<-i think I would prefer this one, it's in my pricerange and is pretty recent, but I don't know about compatibility. -Club3D 6200 PCI 256MB I can only find one retailer that sells the first two, and plenty that sell the last one, I'm just trying to figure out which one is the best, also looking at the future . Any help would be greatly appreciated! btw I kept searching the osx86 hardware database frequently but no info at all seems to be put in there.. sup wit dat? cheers *EDIT* apparently the 9400 GT runs without a hitch, according to this post, so I'm gonna get that! thought I'd share for all you who are still looking for it. **EDIT** I got the sparkle 9400GT Running, but it's not the best deal i think, you can follow my progress here cheers!
  6. Full Install Guide GA P35-DS3P

I guess I don't really need thAT 250 GB of storage once I upgrade my macbook, thanx!
  7. Full Install Guide GA P35-DS3P

I used the kalyway iso's, no problems here, but 10.5.5 didn't work too well I believe. It's been a while since i've tried. Does anyone know how to fix the random kernel panic issue when using 4 GB of memory? I already found these 2 topics on the subject, but I don't know which one I should use. 1: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=87267 2: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=127611
  8. I'm in quite a pickle, I want to use my server to stream live audio to some of my friends every now and then I have one server which sends the audio over the internet. This is equipped with airfoil speakers. It works fine from my laptop (a white macbook 2.0 ghz /2 gb RAM / intel 950 / 80 GB HD) , but I'm having trouble on my desktop pc my desktop setup: Gigabyte P35-DS3P / Core2Quad Q9450 / 2 GB DDR2 / 2x400GB HD / ASUS NVidia 7300GTS / OS X 10.5.4 my server consists of this hardware: Intel D915GMH mobo / Intel Celeron D326 (i believe) / Asus Nvidia 7300GS / Realtek 1839 / OS X 10.4.8 JaS I also can't connect to the desktop pc from the server. So I narrowed it down to my desktop setup. As i had some trouble with a previous mobo, a p35-ds3, which didn't support bonjour too well I believe, so I think it has to do with the realtek 1000 chip, any ideas on how to fix this or what else it could be?
  9. -- How to Upgrade the Kernel -NEW VERSION/UPDATED

I get a kernel panic when running this script
  10. Hi, I run kalyway 10.5.2 updated to 10.5.4. I have my home folder on a different hard drive, to prevent all my data from being lost when something goes wrong. However, after a couple of weeks all of the sudden my home folder is not being read like it should, settings are different, desktop wallpaper is different, dock icons even different. When I restart the system will tell me I'm not able to "log in at this time". So I've ended up having to reainstall the complete system for about four times, which is really a waste of my time. Any thoughts on what might cause this en what to do about it? Thanks in advance, Doobiebro PS. This issue started when i upgraded from a ds3 to a ds3p mobo, even with a fresh install. This kinda sucks cause it took me quite some time to build a pretty nice box and really can't afford a mac pro (at thos point of timespace.
  11. Pwnage Tool 2.1 Released

how is the software unlock coming?
  12. Pwnage Tool 2.1 Released

I heard they were locked to belgian SIM's, so you can't use dutch sims with them, however I don't have any first hand experiences to confirm this, anyone who does, please share!
  13. Pwnage Tool 2.1 Released

If i understand correctly, I can't go to Belgium and get one to use on Dutch networks?
  14. Monitor your temperature under OSX

I'm on a Q9450 and it doesn't seem to give readings, or it has just locked the sensors. I can only view harddisk temps. It finds all four cores on my processor, but just returns "0", am I supposed to buy the program to get those readings?
