I use SMBIOS iMacPro 1,1 wth my vega 64 and i78700K (not overclocked). Rather than the iMac 91,1 since I gave up trying to use quick sync iGPU. I got small glitches from video playback even when everything was confirmed as working correctly. Does that then mean I could get some use out of this? Since a real iMacPro uses Intel Xeon CPU and I have a coffee lake i78700K. Take it that's where this could come in useful? I'm seeing all of my 6 cores being used during heavy CPU tests but maybe it would be even better if I tried this? Thanks for any help/thoughts!

Are there still issues with hdmi/displayport audio with this card in 10.14.6? Curious.

Great thanks, hoping it would be that simple.

    Hackintool v2.8.6

Hi, I realised I set one of my ports wrong, HS01 is meant to be listed as USB 2 but in Hackintool it's showing as USB 3. I'm using USBPorts kext method. Can I change the code in the kext to set the correct port type? I just don't know which part to change and what to change it to, please help! From the post above I've seen 'USB2 = 0x00' but don't get how to make that change in below example text: <dict> <key>HS01</key> <dict> <key>UsbConnector</key> <integer>3</integer> <key>port</key> <data> AQAAAA== </data> </dict>
  5. HELP! Updated Windows on dual boot, I also deleted a what seemed to be duplicate boot entry of windows boot manager via Easy UEFI. I've recently used that program to add Clover as my first boot entry in BIOS. As before I had Clover's boot efi renamed to bootmgfw.efi or bootmgfw-orig.efi, via windows boot manager not exactly sure. Has the update messed with something like the 'bootmgfw.efi' file? I'm not clear on what I should try first to troubleshoot despite reading a lot of dual boot threads. I used to have Mac OS and Win 10 booting off the same disk but now they are on separate SSD's. Where to start? sorry not great at explaining.

If I change my SMBIOS since I made the USBPorts.kext, do I need to rename the SMBIOS within the kext? Or better to re-do port map from scratch? I also updated from HS to Mojave but seems ok, I do get some random ejecting. I'm using XHCI-unsupported.kext for my MSI PC PRO Z370 MB. Hackintool shows I have 200 series/Z370 chipset family USB 3.0 xHCI controller and a ASM2142 USB 3.1 Host controller. Since I've also mapped out which port name belongs to each physical USB port I could essentially just use the same ports as before and delete any different names? Rather than plugging into each physical port again? They will stay the same names right? Thanks for any tips!

Does this seem correct? After following the USB port config guide and making the kext, rebooting etc. I've got this showing in hackintool. Should only the ports with a device name shown, only be highlighted green (showing active port)? Or have I done something wrong....

    Hackintool v2.8.6

Hi, can anyone throw some clarity on some USB port questions, I have the following USB controllers on my MSI Pc Pro Z370: XHC 200 series/z370 chipset family USB 3 xHCI controller PXSX ASM2142 USB 3.1 Host controller I'm using XHCI-unsupported.kext which I think replaces 200seriesXHCI.kext? I'm seeing all the ports for my system so I think that's the correct kext I should be using. Obviously was using USBinjectall whilst mapping the ports. I've used the guide in the help section for the USB port patching with Hackintool. My other question was after installing the created USBPorts.kext and SSDT-EC.aml, I've removed USBinjectall and boot flags etc but do I need to remove the high sierra 10.13.6 port limit patch from the Kernel and Kext Patches section of conflig.plist or is that still required? This one: Name*: com.apple.driver.usb.AppleUSBXHCI Find* [HEX]: 837D880F 0F83A704 0000 Replace* [HEX]: 837D880F 90909090 9090 Comment: USB 10.13.6+ by PMHeart MatchOS: 10.13.x

"Note that USB C can have two ports associated with them. You will need a USB C device and plug it in both ways" What does this mean, plug it in both ways? I was going to get a USB C flash drive to test my USB C port. Is there something else I should use to test it? Thanks.

Awesome thanks for the info. I think I asked the question before but couldn't remember what the recommendation was. Good to get a fresh opinion as I'd really like to properly sort a custom kext.

When you are doing the USB port discovery for your mobo, do we avoid using a USB hub? I use a 7 port USB3 hub in addition to USB ports on my machine. I don't understand if I need to discover ports with the hub plugged in too or do I leave it out?
  13. Hi,I want to move from a single boot disk with both high sierra 10.13.6 and win 10 installed, cloning both OS to have their own separate disks. I don't have any issues but it seems separate disks is easier for backing up. Clonezilla doesn't support APFS so otherwise would try that. I have carbon copy cloner and thinking Winclone to clone my Win 10 partition (would prefer to operate backup tasks in high sierra). I didn't set up my system so I'm just trying to make sure I get it right. Think I need to: Clone high sierra to a new NVMe disk Copy the EFI folder from my current single boot disk on to new high sierra clone (do I still need the Microsoft folder keeping?) Change BIOS boot order from "Windows boot manager" to whatever my new high sierra clone NVMe is listed as Test high sierra clone NVMe boots. I'm not sure about how I get Windows sorted, if I had made a clone would I format the original single disk and clone Windows back onto it? How will clover installed on the NVMe disk see the windows disk? Thanks for any help.
  14. I get that now, as I had looked up how to patch DSDT so that makes sense. Still probably a bit advanced for me atm. Just wasn't sure where or what the code was actually for. Might try ATI and Radeon first as suggested. Thanks
  15. Is it possible I can try using this code for my Asus ROG RX580? When I'm not using Lilu & Whatevergreen only my HDMI works, no displayport. If I use the kexts displayport works but there is some odd tiny glitching on text that goes away when swapped to HDMI so it suggests whatevergreen isn't quite 100% configured. If I were to try this code where does it go? In the patches section of clover configurator? Thank you for any help. I've read about manually trying to patch the framebuffer to see if that works better for me than whatevergreen but its quite involved for myself.
